Feasibility study on the wide and long 9%Ni steel plate for use in the LNG storage inner tank shell

  • This study aimed to assess the feasibility on the wide and long 9%Ni steel plate for use in the LNG storage inner tank shell. First, 5-m-wide and 15-m-long 9%Ni steel plates were test manufactured from a steel mill and specimens taken from the plates were tested for strength, toughness, and flatness to verify their performance based on international standards and design specifications. Second, plates with a thickness of 10 mm and 25 mm, a width of 4.8~5.0 m, and a length of 15 m were test fabricated by subjecting to pretreatment, beveling, and roll bending resulting in a final width of 4.5~4.8 m and a length of 14.8m with fabrication errors identical to conventional plates. Third, welded specimens obtained via shield metal arc welding used for vertical welding of inner tank shell and submerged arc welding used for horizontal welding were also tested for strength, toughness and ductility. Fourth, verification of shell plate material and fabrication was followed by test erection using two 25-mm-thick, 4.5-m-wide and 14.8-m-long 9%Ni steel plates. No undesirable welding failure or deformation was found. Finally, parametric design using wide and long 9%Ni steel plates was carried out, and a simplified design method to determine the plate thickness along the shell height was proposed. The cost analysis based on the parametric design resulted in about 2% increase of steel weight; however, the construction cost was reduced about 6% due to large reduction in welding work.

  • The smallest value of the load when the equilibrium condition becomes to be unstable is defined as the buckling load. The primary objective of this paper is to analyse stability boundaries for star dome under combined loads and is to investigate the iteration diagram under the independent loading parameter In numerical procedure of the geometrically nonlinear problems, Arc Length Method and Newton-Raphson iteration method is used to find accurate critical point(bifurcation point and limit point). In this paper independent loading vector is combined as proportional value and star dome was used as numerical analysis model to find stability boundary among load parameters and many other models as multi-star dome and arches were studied. Through this study we can find the type of buckling mode and the value of buckling load.

  • The contact stress characteristics of the domestic CPF pin when inserted into the rigid PTH was analyzed using the finite element method. The model geometry was based on the shape of the existing pin and the two different PTH diameters were used in the analysis. The stress distributions with respect to the friction coefficients were compared and the stress variations of the compliant part of the pin, which have an influence on the performance, were displayed with the time and the arc length on complete connection.

  • The postbuckling behavior and progressive damage of composite laminated cylindrical shell under uniform external pressure were investigated by nonlinear finite element method programming. For the finite element analysis, nine-node 3-D degenerated elements were utilized, and arc-length method including line search was adopted for the iteration and load-increment along postbuckling equilibrium path. As results. buckling load, postbucking behavior, and progressive failure f3r various composite laminated cylindrical shells were discussed.

비대칭 외판원문제에서 Out-of-Kilter호를 이용한 Perturbation (Perturbation Using Out-of-Kilter Arc of the Asymmetric Traveling Salesman Problem)

  • This paper presents a new perturbation technique for developing efficient iterated local search procedures for the asymmetric traveling salesman problem(ATSP). This perturbation technique uses global information on ATSP instances to speed-up computation and to improve the quality of the tours found by heuristic method. The main idea is to escape from a local optima by introducing perturbations on the out-of-kilter arcs in the problem instance. For a local search heuristic, we use the Kwon which finds optimum or near-optimum solutions by applying the out-of-kilter algorithm to the ATSP. The performance of our algorithm has been tested and compared with known method perturbing on randomly chosen arcs. A number of experiments has been executed both on the well-known TSPLIB instances for which the optimal tour length is known, and on randomly generated Instances. for 27 TSPLIB instances, the presented algorithm has found optimal tours on all instances. And it has effectively found tours near AP lower bound on randomly generated instances.

  • A method of two and three dimensional orthogonal grid generation with control of spacing by using the covariant Laplace equation is Presented. An important feature of the methodology is its ability to control effectively the grid spacing especially near the boundaries still maintaining good orthogonality in whole field. The method is based on the concept of decomposition of the global transformation into consecutive transformation of an approximate conformal mapping and au auxiliary orthogonal mapping to have linear and uncoupled equations. Control of cell spacing is based on the concept of reference arc length, and orthogonal correction is performed in the auxiliary domain. It is concluded that the methodology can successfully generate well controlled orthogonal grids around bodies of 2 and 3 dimensional configurations.

Especially, the buckling is becoming important design criteria in the ship structure to use especially the High Tensile Steel. Consequently, it is important that we grasp the conduct after the buckling behaviour accurately at the stability of the body of ship structure. In this study, examined closely about conduct and secondary buckling after initial buckling of thin plate structure which receive compressive load according to various kinds aspect ratio under simply supported condition that make by buckling formula in each payment in advance nile to place which is representative construction of hull. Analysis method is F.E.M by ANSYS and complicated nonlinear behaviour to analyze such as secondary buckling.

유연한 보구조물의 탄성유한요소해석 (Elastic Finite Element Analysis for a Flexible Beam Structure.)

  • A finite element anlaysis is performed for large deformations of a felxible beam. The total Lagrangian formulation for a general large deformation, which involves finite rotations, is chosen and the exponential map is used to treat finite rotations from the Eulerian point of view. The finite elements results are confirmed for several cases of deformations through comparison to a first order elasticity solution obtained by numerical integration, and the agreement between the two is found to be excellent. For lateral buckling, the point of vanishing determinant of the resulting unsymmetric tangent stiffness is traced to examine its relationship to bifurcation points. It is found that the points of vanishing determinant is not corresponding to bifurcation points for large deformation in general, which suggests that the present unsymmetric tangent stiffness is not an exact first derivative of internal forces with respect to displacement.

얇은 보 구조물의 횡좌굴에 대한 total lagrangian 유한요소해석 (Total Lagrangian Finite Element Analysis of Lateral Buckling for Thin Beam Structures)
