The transparent conducting thin film of ATO (antimony-doped tin oxide) was successfully fabricated on$SiO_2$/glass substrate by a sol-gel dip coating method. The crystalline phase of the ATO thin film was identified as SnO$_2$ major phase and the film thickness was about 100 nm/layer at the withdrawal speed of 50 mm/minute. Optical transmittance and electrical resistivity of the 400 nm-thick ATO thin film which was annealed under nitrogen atmosphere were 84% and $5.0\times 10^{-3}\Omega \textrm{cm}$, respectively. It was found that the $SiO_2$ layer inhibited Na ion diffusion and the formation of impurities like $Na_2SnO_3$ or SnO while increasing Sb ion concentration and higher ratio of $Sb^{5+}/Sb^{3+}$in the film. Annealing at nitrogen atmosphere leads to the reduction of $Sn^{4+}$ as well as $Sb^{5+}$ resulting in decrease of the electrical resistivity of the film.

Purposes: The purposes of this study were to investigate the optical, structural and electrical properties of the antimony doped tin oxide(ATO) thin films according to certain variable deposition conditions, such as RF input power and T-S (target-substrate) distance change, using transparent conducting oxide (TCO). Methods: ATO thin films of Sb concentration ratio with $SnO_2:Sb_2O_5$ = 95:5 wt% were deposited at room temperature by RF magnetron sputtering method. Results: ATO thin films were most sensitive to the RF input power: light transmittance was 78% at RF input power of 30W, and 0.56 nm for the surface roughness and 1007 $\Omega{\cdot}cm^{-2}$ for the sheet resistance as well. Conclusions: It was found that ATO thin films were showed the large change in its characteristics of structural, optical and electrical properties which were affected by T-S distance and RF input power.

Antimony (6 wt%) doped tin oxide (ATO) films to improve conductivity were deposited on 7059 coming glass by RF magnetron sputtering method for application to transparent electrodes. The ATO film was deposited at a working pressure of 5 mTorr and RF power of 175 W. We investigated the effects of the post-annealing temperature on structural, electrical and optical properties of the ATO films. The films were annealed at temperatures ranging from $300^{\circ}C$ to $600^{\circ}C$ in step of $100^{\circ}C$ using RTA equipment in vacuum ambient. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements showed the ATO films to be crystallized with a strong (101) preferred orientation as the annealing temperature increased. Electrical resistivity decreased significantly with annealing temperatures up to $600^{\circ}C$. ATO film annealed at temperature of $600^{\circ}C$ showed the lowest resistivity of $5.6\times10^{-3}\Omega$-cm. Optical transmittance increased significantly with annealing temperatures up to $600^{\circ}C$. The highest transmittance was 90.8 % in the visible range from 400 to 800 nm.

Bismuth-antimony-telluride based thermoelectric thin film materials were prepared by metal organic vapor phase deposition using trimethylbismuth, triethylantimony and diisopropyltelluride as metal organic sources. A planar type thermoelectric device has been fabricated using p-type $Bi_{0.4}Sb_{1.6}Te_3$ and n-type $Bi_2Te_3$ thin films. Firstly, the p-type thermoelectric element was patterned after growth of $4{\mu}m$ thickness of $Bi_{0.4}Sb_{1.6}Te_3$ layer. Again n-type $Bi_2Te_3$ film was grown onto the patterned p-type thermoelectric film and n-type strips are formed by using selective chemical etchant for $Bi_2Te_3$. The top electrical connector was formed by thermally deposited metal film. The generator consists of 20 pairs of p- and n-type legs. We demonstrate complex structures of different conduction types of thermoelectric element on same substrate by two separate runs of MOCVD with etch-stop layer and selective etchant for n-type thermoelectric material. Device performance was evaluated on a number of thermoelectric devices. To demonstrate power generation, one side of the device was heated by heating block and the voltage output was measured. The highest estimated power of 1.3mW is obtained at the temperature difference of 45K. We provide a promising approach for fabricating thin film thermoelectric generators by using MOCVD grown thermoelectric materials which can employ nanostructures for high thermoelectric properties.

Pentachloroethane($CHCl_2CCl_3$) was synthesized and reacted with hydrogen fluoride using antimony pentahalide catalyst($SbCl_xF_y$) in order to manufacture HCFC-123$(CF_3CHCl_2)$, a potential CFC-11$(CFCl_3$) substitute candidate. Products analyses showed the fluorination proceeds through fluorine-chlorine exchanges between $HF/SbCl_xF_y$ and $SbCl_xF_y/CCl_3CHCl_2$ respectively. The degree of fluorination of $CCl_3$ group in pentachloroethane was greatly affected on the reaction temperature, but the effect of catalyst concentration was relatively small. Mechanistic study was also performed to elucidate the pathway to the formation of side-products such as $CCl_3CFCl_2$, $CFCl_2CFCl_2$ and $CF_2ClCFCl_2$.
Gold and/or silver mineralization in the southeast province, Korea, occurred in hydrothermal quartz vein that fills fracture zones in Cretaceous volcanic and sedimentary rocks of the Gyeongsang basin or granites and Precambrian gneiss. Most of the gold-silver-bearing veins in the province occur in Hapcheon, Suncheon and Haman-Gunbuk area where they are associated with Cretaceous Bulgugsa granites. On the basis of the Ag/Au ratio on amounts produced and ore grades, mode of occurrence, and associated mineral assemblages, hydrothermal Au-Ag deposits in southeast province, Korea, can be classified as follows: pyrite-type gold deposit (Group IIB, Samjeong and Sangchon deposits), antimony-type gold-silver deposit (Group IV, Gisan and Geochang deposits), and antimony-type silver deposit (Group V, Sanggo, Seweon, Seongju and Gahoe deposits). All of the gold-silver deposits in the province are generally characteristics of the gold-silver or silver-dominant type deposit which contains more silver-bearing minerals than those deposits in central Korea. The gold-silver mineralization in the deposits consist of two generation; the early characterized by gold precipitation and the late represented by silver-rich (as silver-bearing sulfosalts minerals) mineralization. All but one deposit (Samjeong deposit) having relatively lower Au content in electrum values between ${\approx}20$ and ${\approx}50$ atomic %. The mineralogical data on electrum-sphalerite and/or arsenopyrite geothermometry and fluid inclusion data indicate that the gold and silver mineralizations were occurred at temperatures of $190{\sim}280^{\circ}C$ and $150{\sim}180^{\circ}C$, respectively. These suggest that the gold-silver mineralization in the province occurred in the lower temperature and pressure conditions as epithermal-type hydrothermal vein deposit.
In order to offer monitoring data about standard and specification of metallic kitchenware, we carried out the material test and migration test of lead and antimony in 71 kinds of kitchenwares. As a result of this study, Pb was detected less than 0.06% at the material test and Sb was not defected in 71 kinds of kitchenwares. Pb was also detected less than 0.41 mg/L at the migration test. Currently according to the Food Code of Korea, Pb and Sb in metal product shall not exceed 10% and 5%, respectively and Pb migrated from metal product shall not exceed 1.0 mg/L. Therefore, our all data are not exceeding the standard and specification of metal product and show that all the kitchenwares in domestic circulation may be safe.
The kinetics of polycondensation of bishydroxyethyl naphthalate has been studied in the range of 241 -$260^{\circ}C$ using antimony trioxide catalyst. The reaction was performed in a batch reactor and the concentration of reaction mixture was measured with HPLC. The activation energy values of forward and reverse reaction determined from molecular species model were found to be 19.7 and 31.4 kcal/mole, respectively, and the equilibrium constants were in the range of 1.4-2.0, which were larger than that of polycondensation of PET and varied to some degree with temperature. It was confirmed by applying the Flory's distribution function that the reaction rate of the hyroxyethyl group does not depend on the molecular size. By applying functional group model, we observed that there was few difference between the activation energy of the forward reaction and that of reverse reaction, therefore the equilibrium constant has almost constant value of 1.4. The rate constants obtained from functional group model was about 3-4 times larger than that from molecular species model, which showed that both model explains the reaction system well. Although the molecular species model should predict the concentration of as many as ten molecules, it fits for the experimental results well.

$CoSb_3$ with its high electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient and rather low thermal conductivity is quite a promising material for thermoelectric conversion applications. A potentially high figure of merit (ZT) can be achieved by a nanostructure evolution of thermoelectric materials. In this work, $CoSb_3$ nanoparticles were synthesized through a thermal decomposition method in cooperation with a hot injection technique. Nano-sized $CoSb_3$ particles were obtained through the thermal decomposition reaction between the pre-heated cobalt-oleate at $320^{\circ}C$ and the injected antimony oleate with room temperature. The results showed that the particle size was increased with increasing synthesis temperature and the crystallinity of particles was improved with temperature but the decomposition of $CoSb_3$ was observed at $320^{\circ}C$. The $CoSb_3$ particles synthesized at $300^{\circ}C$ showed a high purity and an homogeneous shape with average particle size of 26 nm.
