혼합 요소에서의 개선된 민감도 계산법 (The calculation of refined semi-analytic sensitivity based on the hybrid element)

  • Structural optimization often require the evaluation of design sensitivities. The Semi Analytic method(SAM) is popular for shape optimization because this method has several advantages. But when relatively large rigid body motions are identified for individual elements, the SA method shows severe inaccuracy. In this paper, the improvement of design sensitivities corresponding to the rigid body mode is evaluated by exact differentiation of the rigid body modes. Moreover, the error of the SA method caused by numerical difference scheme is alleviated by using a series approximation for the sensitivity derivatives and considering the higher order terms.

  • Error of the geometric series expansion method for the structural sensitivity analysis is estimated. Although the semi-analytic method has several advantages, accuracy of the method prevents it from practical application. One of the promising remedies is the use of geometric series formula for the matrix inversion. Its result of the sensitivity analysis converges that of the global difference method which is known as reliable one. To reduce computational efforts and to obtain reliable results, it is important to know how many terms need to expand. In this paper, the error formula is presented and Its usefulness is illustrated through numerical experiments.

  • An analytic nodal expansion method has been derived for the multigroup neutron diffusion equation in 2-D cylindrical(R-Z) coordinate. In this method we used the second order Legendre polynomials for source, and transverse leakage, and then the diffusion eqaution was solved analytically. This formalism has been applied to 2-D LWR model. $textsc{k}$$_{eff}$, power distribution, and computing time have been compared with those of ADEP code(finite difference method). The benchmark showed that the analytic nodal expansion method in R-Z coordinate has good accuracy and quite faster than the finite difference method. This is another merit of using R-Z coordinate in that the transverse integration over surfaces is better than the linear integration over length. This makes the discontinuity factor useless.s.

  • 인체의 생리기관의 운동은 매우 복잡하고 불규칙적인 운동을 보이고 있다. 특히 말초 혈관의 운동은 매우 민감하고 복잡한 운동특성을 보이고 있다. 그중에서도 당 (glucose)에 의한 운동은 매우 민감한 변화의 운동을 반응한다. 이런 운동을 분석하기에는 기존의 선형적인 분석방법으로 복잡한 혈류운동을 분석하고 예측하기에는 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다. 그래서 비선형적 운동계의 분석방법인 카오스이론의 시계열분석방법으로 분석하는 것이 적합하다. 이런 맥락으로 본 연구는 당의 주입에 의한 토끼의 말초혈류량의 스칼라적 데이터를 획득하여 시계열분석방법으로 다차원의 벡터로 재정의하여 말초혈관의 혈류운동이 카오스적 운동임을 재확인하고 비선형적분석방법의 적합성을 확인하고자 하였다. 그 결과 당 주입에 따른 혈당치의 변화에 따라 기존의 주파수분석 및 평균치분석에서 차이가 나타나지 않았지만 비선형적분석방법으로 분석한 결과 그 차이를 확인할수 있었고, 말초 혈류의운동이 카오스적현상을 보임을 확인하였다.

말뚝지지 전면기초의 실용적 근사해석법 개발 (A Practical Analysis Method for the Design of Piled Raft Foundations)

  • 말뚝지지 전면기초에서 침하량을 산정할 경우 기초판-말뚝-지반간 상호작용을 고려해야 하며, 단순 해석법으로는 이러한 복잡한 상호작용을 고려하여 해석하는 것이 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 말뚝지지 전면기초의 침하량 해석을 위해 기초판-말뚝-지반간 상호작용을 고려한 근사해석법(HDPR)을 개발하였다. 기초판은 Mindlin 판이론을 이용하여 유한요소로 모델링 하였고, 지반 및 말뚝은 기초판에 연결된 스프링으로 모델링되었다. 지반 스프링의 경우 다층지반을 고려한 선형 스프링을 적용하였고, 말뚝은 비선형 스프링을 적용하였으며, 각각의 스프링은 기초판-말뚝-지반간 상호작용이 반영되었다. 본 연구에서의 해석기법 검증을 위해 3차원 유한요소해석, 기존에 개발된 근사해석방법 및 실제 현장 계측결과와 비교분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 개발된 기법이 말뚝 및 기초판의 침하량을 합리적으로 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 실제 말뚝지지 전면기초 해석 및 설계 시 실용적인 측면에서 적용이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Finally the present study shows that the refined SAM including the iterative method improves the results of sensitivity analysis in dynamic problems.

수치미분을 이용한 고무의 유한요소 해석시 수렴성 연구 (A Study on the Convergency of the Finite Element Analysis of Rubber Using Numerical Differentiation Mehthod)

  • A finite element procedure for the analysis of rubber-like hyperelastic material is developed. The volumetric incompressiblity conditions of the rubber deformation is included in the formulation by using penalty method. In this paper, the behavior of the rubber deformation is represented by hyperelastic constitutive relations based on a generalized Mooney-Rivlin model. The principle of virtual work is used to derive nonlinear finite element equation for the large displacement problem and presented in total-Lagrangian description. The finite element procedure using analytic differentiation resulted in very close solution to the result of the well known commercial packages NISAII AND ABAQUS. Numerical tests show that the results from the numerical differentiation method coincide very well with those from the analytic method and the well known commercial packages in static analysis. The convergency of rubber usingν iteration method is also discussed.

변형된 사각 핀의 이론적 성능해석 (Theoretical Performance Analysis of a Modified Rectangular Fin)

  • A modified rectangular fin is analyzed by two-dimensional analytic method and finite difference method. Relative error of heat loss from the modified rectangular fin between analytic method and finite difference method is presented. Comparisons of fin effectiveness and heat loss between a modified rectangular fin and a plane rectangular fin are made as a function of the non-dimensional fin length and wing height for different positions of wings by using analytic method. The ratio of the incremental rate of heat loss to that of the area of a modified rectangular fin is shown as a function of the wing height. One of the results shows that performance of a modified fin is more improved as the wing approaches the fin root.

  • The intensity of ultrasound in liquid is calculated by improved analytic method. Helmholtz equation or Rayleigh's proposition does not offer the analytic solution. Considering a bounded medium, the use of the image source method in electromagnetic thoery gives a new way of calculating the total ultrasonic intensity in liquid. Some methods of measuring the intensities are also mentioned.

  • While the z-transform method is a basic mathematical tool to relate the imput/output signals only at the sampling instants in analyzing and designing sampled-data control systems, the modified z-transform which is a variation of the z-transform is widely used to represent the details of continuous signals between the sampling instants. To relate the modified z-transform to the corresponding regular z-transform, some properties were established regarding the modified z-transform method. This paper will show that these properties, in their current forms, cause come analytic problems, when they are applied to the signals with discontinuities at the sampling instants, which accordingly limit their applications significantly. In this paper, those analytic problems will be investigated, and the theorems of the modified z-transform will be revised by adopting new notations on the z-transform so that those can be correctly interpreted and used without any analytic problems. Also some additional useful schemes of applying the modified z-transform will be developed.
