This study collects and analyzes data on educational philosophy and method for domestic and overseas alternative schools. This information is then applied to educational purpose and curriculum for a home economics curriculum that develops unique characteristics for Korean alternative education. This study collected and analyzed the characteristics of educational content and educational elements from two renowned alternative schools: Waldorf School in Germany and Summer Hill in the United Kingdom. The research results were as follows. First, it is necessary to create new word instead of using the term 'alternative education'. Second, among characteristics of Korean home economics curriculum, 'practical problem-solving ability', 'independent living ability', and 'relation forming ability' should be utilized to create a school with an independent curriculum and to establish a unique brand value. Third, time investment on instructor education should be made to cultivate competent and charming instructors as the center of a school. Lastly, school education should manage student's life at school and after graduation. The school and instructor should provide alternative education while thinking they are responsible for 50 years of a student's future life. This study helps show that alternative education is not perceived as a superficial and generalized education and that Korean alternative education can find similar characteristic to those of overseas cases.

Home economics education professional knowledge consists of empirical interpretive critical science component. Thus it is imperative that the alternative research perspectives be used to gain certain knowledge for the profession of home economics education. In human inquiry and education there is a growing concern that the dominant research paradigm positivist natural science model is inadequate to address the phenomena constructed by persons. However, Home economics education has not examined and almost utilized alternative research perspectives. This review will probe research logic and resecrach methodology of qualitative inquiry within home economics education and highlight the shift from positivism to post-positivism.

This study was practiced to compare educational status and recognition of Home Economics curriculum between alternative and general middle school students. The survey was conducted to 130 alternative school students and 241 general school students in Gyeonggi province. In students' satisfaction on their school, there is appeared the highest at 'average'(38.6%) in general schools and 'satisfied'(40.8%) in alternative schools, showing that those in alternative schools have greater satisfaction on their schools(p<0.001). In the degree of recognition on Home Economics curriculum, the perception as an 'important subject' was average of 3.08/5 points in general school and 3.32/5 points in alternative school, indicating that the recognition in alternative schools was higher than general ones(p<0.05). Also, degree of satisfaction on practice and lecture class was higher in alternative than general schools. However, it was found that the use of audiovisual learning material in alternative schools was much smaller than that of general ones, and the former had poor facilities and practice labs. Regarding degrees of interest in Home Economics curriculum, 'average'(36.9%) in general school and 'rather interested in the subject'(38.5%) in alternative schools were most common. About the opinion that they needed to learn Home Economics subject, the answer 'it is needed' was 67.6% in general schools and 79.2% in alternative ones, presenting that the students in alternative schools more felt the need to learn the subject(p<0.05). Regarding the comparison of interest level for each area in Home Economics curriculum according to gender, there was only difference on the area of 'preparation and management for clothing'. On the area, the degree of interest was higher in girls than boys at all the schools(p<0.05). Therefore, in alternative schools, it is suggested that various uses of audiovisual learning materials at teaching and expansion of practice facilities should be provided and created desirable Home Economics class. Also in general schools, it is urgent that countermeasures to increase the practice classes are established in order to improve interest and satisfaction of Home Economics education.

Based on the theory of planned behavior, this study aims to examine the structural equation model among consumers' concerns and purchase intentions for alternative meats. Data were collected from 300 adults living in Kyeonggi Province. Results show that animal welfare, environmental concern, and health concern all have a direct and significant effect on purchase intention of alternative meat, and the mediation effect is also significant, indicating a partial mediation effect. The image of a company as caring about animal welfare and contributing to public causes can help sell alternative meats. Media publicity focusing on animal welfare for alternative meats can improve the attitudes of domestic consumers as well as their intention to purchase alternative meat products.

To apply an analysis method of life cycle cost when assessing economics of equipment system, we should basically set up preconditions such as useful life, price escalation rate, interest rate, etc. as well as consider a calculation algorism of source energy and heat source system, which is a complex process for life cycle costing. For this reason, equipment designers tend to plan heat source systems, without a thorough investigation on economics of alternative systems at the pre-design phase. In this process, architectural designers should adopt a proper heat source system, which is one of the most important factors for planning an appropriate architectural design, through a discussion with equipment designers in a short time. In order to offer an evaluation method for equipment designers to analyze economics of an alternative heat source system easily at the pre-design phase, this research would define the simplified economics, evaluation method through analysis of existing papers for economics evaluation, and examine validity through comparison of simplified method values ($LCC_{EC}$) and life cycle costing values ($LCC_{15}$) for six alternative heat source systems.
This study developed an integrative curriculum design plan for Home Economics through a deliberation method. This study established a research framework to integrate the deliberation models of Schwab, Walker, and Reid that inherited the intellectual tradition of curriculum deliberation along with the practical reasoning process of Brown and Paolucci from a critical science perspective. The practical research problem was formulated as "What should be done to develop a Home Economics integrative curriculum?" To address this practical research problem, deliberation with deliberators of each small, medium, and large groups was processed for the development of integrative curriculum design plans. An initial proposal was developed from small group deliberation processes. An initial proposal was examined and an alternative plan was developed from medium group deliberation processes. An alternative plan and its consequence were re-examined from large group deliberation processes. The authors finalized a proposal organized on four valued ends of self-formation, intersubjectivity, social action, and life skills. A practical problem focused integrative curriculum was developed and proposed to pursue the four valued ends. The suggested final practical problem focused curriculum demonstrates the power of Home Economics to contribute to the advancement of individuals, families, and society as well as the practical empowerment of students.
This study provides a comprehensive survey of Post Keynesian economics. The global financial crisis 2008-2009 has triggered an important debate concerning economic theory, policy and methodology. The most important thing that this economic crisis has done for economics is that it revealed mainstream economics was wrong. Mainstream economics has been unable to offer clear answers for the crisis. The economic crisis, at the same time, brought about a crisis in the field of economics. This study suggests that economics needs to be altered into a new form that can explain the real world economy. In this paper, it is argued that Post Keynesian economics can be understood as the alternative economics. The paper begins with the vision and the origins of several Post Keynesian ideas, leading to an examination of certain features of the various groups, including their methodology and their approaches to uncertainty, their pricing theories and their growth theories. The focus, however, is on the stage reflected in Post Keynesian economics which is concerned with the conception of Lakatos's 'Scientific Research Programmes'. It is recognized that more research is necessary in order to complete the post keynesian economics as a standard science or as a progressive Scientific Research Programmes in economics.
