  • Kimpo international airport logistics complex had been the most busiest airfreight gateway in Korea during last century but, after the grand open of Incheon international airport in 2001, it had lost its major role as a national airfreight hub facilities. However, owing to its locational advantages in Seoul metropolitan area. Kimpo airport logistics park still acts like an urban logistics distribution center in these days. Caused by the KAC's profit oriented policies, the Kimpo airport logistics park's public function as an urban distribution center might be curtailed in the future. Therefore, several laws and ordinances related to national and regional logistics strategies should be modified to prevent it.

  • Airport-related laws restrict the installation of lights that obstruct the identification of airport lights or cause glare to pilots and controllers around the airport. However, with regard to the glare that lights give to the pilot or controller, it is only judged whether there is a limit based on a qualitative judgment, and a quantitative review has not been made. Therefore, in this study, visual disturbances that may occur to pilots and controllers due to large lighting facilities around airports during nighttime flight operation were quantitatively calculated and confirmed through disability glare, object recognition, and identification obstruction. And based on this study, it was suggested to supplement the related system to prevent the visual impairment of pilots and controllers caused by lighting facilities.

  • The airport processes are restricted by some limits of performance objects as size of airport, ability of human resources, capacity of facilities and operational rules. These limitations make passenger handling difficult when passenger numbers increase. In order to solve this problem, we modeled the airport process and analyzed departure passenger arrival, scheduled security manpower under specific customer service level maintenance with mixed integer programming and validate the efficiency with simulation with adapting smart airport framework. We concluded that the airport management with information techniques can reduce waiting time within security and immigration process.

  • In modern society the population of disabled goes on increasing rapidly not only in congenital deformities but also in acquired handicapped persons due to various factors such as car accidents and industrial disaster. And the number of disabled passengers in airports is growing every year with economic growth and globalization in Korea as well. That is the reason why the effort to the convenient facilities for the disabled in airports is needed more. The real situation in airports which are the public buildings is that the effort to install the facilities for the disabled is only perfunctory to meet the legal standard and cannot answer to the expectation of the facilities for the disabled. In this study I would like to give the airport operators the guide line to expand the facilities and the disabled an opportunity to use airports more freely and conveniently through the presentation on the problems and solutions with the current situation of the facilities for the disabled and the satisfaction of users in all airports in Korea.

  • An Airport is important space and even stands for the country because diverse people from other countries use a variety of facilities in the gateway to the country. Therefore, It is urgent for those people to increase efficiency and convenience of its usage and also. It's worth accumulating those know-how and technologies. In this situation, Incheon International Airport aiming to be a hub of north-east Asia need to focus more on restructuring general process of passenger's travel based on PI perspectives then simply improving a process of passenger's travel and have been trying to realize the process based on Innovation perspectives with following precess innovation consisting 5 steps And to conclude, this study will help Incheon International Airport to be innovative in a system of passenger's travel service related to a utility of airport and then achieve a hub Airport of North-East Asia.

Therefore, It is urgent for those people to increase efficiency and convenience of its usage. But we have a problem with process of passenger and this paper with the object of finding the solution in case study. This paper focus on information system, especially Intelligent Airport Information System to streamline process of passenger. There are a few of countries adopted this system in process. Therefore, IIAC(Incheon International Airport Corporation) establishing u-Information HUB System. It is unique and differential characteristics to Facilitation and increase passenger's satisfaction. u-Information HUB system unified stakeholder's process of Facilitation in Air Traffic Sides. u-Information HUB system gets the highest state of efficiency to Facilitation. This Paper is attempt to find new effort

  • The global economy and the air transport business have been affected since the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. As countries tighten restrictions on international movements, the growing emphasis on air cargo puts pressure on airports to maintain and upgrade their cargo policies, facilities, and operations. Hence, ensuring the competitiveness of cargo airports becomes pivotal for airports survival under the volatile global demand. The study aims to evaluate the importance of the competitiveness factors for cargo airports and identify areas for further improvement. The study applies the Best-Worst Method (BWM) to assess the cargo airports' competitiveness factors: 'Transport Capacity,' 'Airport Operations and Facility Capacity,' 'Economic Growth,' 'Financial Performance,' and 'Airport Brand Value.' The selected airports include Heathrow Airport, Aéroport de Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Hong Kong International Airport, and Incheon International Airport. The results identify 'Transport Capacity' as the most significant competitiveness factor, and Hong Kong International Airport the best performing cargo airport. This research forms a reference framework for evaluating cargo airports' competitive position, which may help identify airports' relative strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, this framework can also serve as a tool facilitating the strategic design of airports that may accommodate both air cargo and passenger demand flexibly under the demand uncertainty.

  • This paper introduces a practical determination method for soil parameters adopted in the new performance based design code for port and harbour facilities in Japan. In the new port-design code, the depth profile of the derived values is modeled as the profile of the estimated values so as to be either the mean value or the regression line, then the correction factors are multiplied to the estimated value according to the coefficient of variation (if COV > 0.1) and the number of the data entries (if n < 10). The new port-design code is applied to the unconfined compression test results for the Hiroshima Port clay in order to evaluate the undrained shear strengths. From the discussion, it is emphasized that not only the statistic treatment but also the engineering judgment are required in the procedure of the soil parameter determination for the reliability design.
