X선치료 조사야 내 공동의 존재에 따른 선량분포의 측정 (The Influence of Air Cavity on Interface Doses for Photon Beams)

  • When a high energy photon beam is used to treat lesions located in the upper respiratory air passages or in maxillary sinus, the beams often must traverse an air cavity before it reaches the lesion. Because of this traversal of air, it is not clear that the surface layers of the lesion forming the air-tumor tissue interface will be in a state of near electronic equilibrium; if they are not, underdosing of these layers could result. Although dose corrections at large distances beyond an air cavity are accountable by attenuation differences, perturbations at air-tissue interfaces are complex to measure or calculate. This problem has been investigated for 4MV and 10MV X-ray beams which are becoming widely available for radiotherapy with linear accelerator. Markus chamber was used for measurement with variouse air cavity geometries in X-ray beams. Underdosing effects occur at both the distal and proximal air cavity interface. The magnitude depended on geometry, energy, field sizes and distance from the air-tissue interfaces. As the cavity thickness increased, the central axis dose at the distal interface decreased. Increasing field size remedied the underdosing, as did the introduction of lateral walls. Fellowing a $20{\times}2{\times}2\;cm^3$\;air\;cavity,\;4{\times}4\;cm\;field\;there\;was\;an\;11.5\%\;and\;13\%\;underdose\;at\;the\;distal\;interface,\;while\;a\;20{\times}20{\times}2\;cm^3\;air\;cavity\;yielded\;a\;24\%\;and\;29\%$ loss for the 4MV and 10MV beams, respectively. The losses were slightly larger for the 10MV beams. The measurements reported here can be used to guide the development of new calculation models under non-equilibrium conditions. This situation is of clinical concern when lesions such as larynx and maxillary carcinoma beyond air cavities are irradiated.

An Air-Interface for Ad Hoc Networks Supporting High Mobility

  • In this paper, a novel air-interface is presented for Fleet-Net1, a self-organizing network for inter-vehicle and vehicle-toroadsidecommunication. The air-interface is based upon the lowchip-rate version of UMTS/TDD. To adapt the cellular UMTS standard to an air-interface for ad hoc networks, changes of the physical layer, medium access control sub-layer and radio resource management are required. An overview of the required modifications is given here. Particularly, a decentralized synchronization mechanism is presented and analyzed by means of simulations. Furthermore, changes for the medium access control are explained in detail, which allow for an efficient operation in partly meshed networks and prioritization. Performance results of the overall system considering throughput and delay are derived by means of analytical evaluations and event-driven simulations. Based on realistic mobility models, it is shown that the presented solution provides a robust communication platform even in vehicular environments. The proposed air-interface is a cost-effective solution not only for inter-vehicle communication, but also for ad hoc networking in general, benefiting from the mass-market of UMTS.

항공교통관제시스템에 대한 사용자 인터페이스 만족도 조사 (User Interface Satisfaction of the Air Traffic Control System)

  • The purpose of study is to investigate the current user interface level of air traffic control system with the usability analysis and satisfaction survey questionnaire on user satisfaction. Think aloud protocol is used to identify not only task analysis, but also the level of user-friendliness of the FIMS and ASDE system, and the user interface questionnaires was conducted by QUIS. We collected data from 6 controllers for Think aloud protocol and 15 controllers for QUIS in Incheon airport. The results showed that the system was the valuable tool for ensuring human performance with the support of memory and the facilitation of decision-making tasks. It helps air traffic controllers perform better and minimize errors in a congested time. The human-computer interface system design, however, was not applied, which led to the increase of workload. Air traffic controller participation in software development provided excellent examples for applications in terms of software in FIMS. Based on these results, the study provided that the usability of system interface was necessary to take into account human factors.   • Hydrophobic hairs of some insects make bubbles underwater. These bubbles makes possible for insects to breathe underwater. In this thesis, influence of geometric characteristics on air-liquid interface with pressure is investigated. Air-liquid interface shape with hair diameter over distance between hairs is analyzed This results expects to be used in the developments of artificial gill technology.

  • Haptic interface apparatus is the device which can offer users virtual reality not only by visualization of virtual space but also by force or tactile feedback. In this paper, we designed and fabricated a 2D haptic interface device that can be used for various purposes, and implemented a virtual air-hockey system that users can easily find in game rooms. By suitable modeling and haptic rendering, users can feel the impact and the reaction force with his/her hand holding the handle through 2D haptic interface device when he/she hit an air-hockey puck with the handle. Through the trial demonstration. we observed the reasonable effect of direction and speed of a ball like doing in reality.

  • Casting structures and properties are determined by the solidification speed in the metal mold. The heat transfer characteristics of the interface between the mold and the casting is one of the major factors that control the solidification speed. According to Sully's research, the thermal resistance exists due to the air-gap formation at the mold-casting interface during the freezing process and the interface heat transfer coefficient is used to describe the degree of it. In this study, one-dimensional Stefan problem with air-gap resistance in the cylindrical geometry is considered and heat transfer characteristics is numerically examined. The temperature distribution and solidification speed are obtained by using the modified variable time step method. And the effects of the major parameters such as mold geometry, thermal conductivity, heat transfer coefficient and initial temperature of casting on the thermal characteristics are investigated.

  • Laser and hot air reflow soldering of PBGA solder ball was investigated. Experimental results showed that surface quality and shear strength of solder bumps reflowed by laser was superior than the solder bumps reflowed by hot air, and the microstructure inside the solder bumps reflowed by laser was much finer. Analysis on interfacial reaction showed that eutectic solder reacted with Au/Ni/Cu pad shortly after the solder was melted. Interface of solder bump reflowed by laser consists of a continuous AuSn$_4$ layer and remnant Au element. Needle-like AuSn$_4$ grew sidewise from interface, and then spread out to the entire interface region. A thin layer of Ni$_3$Sn$_4$ intermetallic compound was found at the interface of solder bump reflowed by hot air, AuSn$_4$ particles distributed inside the whole solder bump randomly. It is the combination effect of the continuous AuSn$_4$ layer and finer eutectic microstructure inside the solder bump reflowed by laser that resulted in higher shear strength.

  • IMT-2000이동시스템에서는 빠른 전송속도의 지원으로 무선인터넷, 전자상거래 등 많은 응용서비스의 제공이 예상된다. 이들 서비스는 인증, 데이터 무결성, 데이터 암호화 등 높은 수준의 보안기능을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 IMT-2000에서 암호화, 인증 등 망접속 보안 기능 제공에 따른 무선링크의 성능 분석을 수행하였다. 보안 기능의 추가에 따라 모든 구성 시스템간의 링크에서 관련 메시지 전송에 따른 부하가 증가하나 추가되는 용량의 처리가 쉽게 해결 가능한 유선구간에서의 성능분석은 제시하고 메시지 증가에 가장 민감한 구간인 무선링크에 대만 성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.

  • In this study, we intended to get a preliminary data for establishing rat tracheal surface epithelial(RTSE) cell culture system as an experimental model for physiology and pharmacology of tracheal epithelial cells. Primary culture on the membrane support and application of the air-liquid interface system at the level of cell layer were performed. The cell growth rate and mucin production rate were measured according to the days in culture. The results were as follows: this culture system was found to manifest mucocilliary differentiation of rat tracheal epithelial cells, the cells were confluent and the quantity of produced and released mucin was highest on culture day 9, the mucin was mainly released to the apical side and tbe free $^3{H}$-glucosamine which was not incorporated to process of synthesis of mucin was left on the basolateral side. Taken together, we suggest that air-liquid interface culture system can be used as a substitute for immersion culture system and as an experimental model for in vivo mucus-hypersecretory diseases.
