Middle age is the time of the most important meaning in life and also the time of physical and mental change, which offers new social activities for self-development. Middle-aged women form the major consumer class in current clothing industry, but few have been performed on this so far. The researcher studied in many aspect on the clothes which middle-aged women need to wear during this period of change. Thus this study is executed to examine what benefits middle-aged women pursue in clothing attitudes and the relationship among clothing pursuit benefit and their somatotype compensation and image orientation. The research performed the theoretical study and practical study simultaneously. The subjects are 238 middle-aged women between 35 and 49 years old in September, 2004. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The attitude of women's clothing patterns in relation with image consist of two factor structures. One is the body image and the other is the appearance image. 2. As a result of researching the attitude for choosing clothes of each body group by Rohrer index, the women with gross body group take a top priority for the lower-body compensation, while the women with slim body group take a top priority for volume compensation. 3. As a result of researching the cognitive somatotype group's attitude for choosing clothes, gross body group takes a top priority for lower-body compensation and upper-body compensation. 4. As a result of researching the relationship between real somatotype and cognitive somatotype by Rohrer index, middle-aged women think of themselves as being fatter than present state. And choosing the clothes, the body misunderstanding group of women usually show that they consider more compensation than the normally body understanding group. 5. The evaluation on real somatotype, cognitive somatotype, ideal somatotype influences on the body cathexis.
This study was designed to investigate the elderly people's attitude toward death for the purpose of identifying the issues needed in the planning of health management and care activities for the aged. The total number of subjects in this study was 354 elderly people who were accommodated in house for elderly people (185) and school for elderly people (169). The scale for the attitude toward death of aged persons as an instrument of this study was mainly constructed with reference to Schneidman's attitude questioners toward death modified of adjust the Korean cultural characteristics and attitudes concerning death. Theresultsofthisstudywereasfollows: - 1. Out of total 45.8% of the respondents consider that death is a natural phenomena and ending of life. The responses on the meaning of death appeared differently : non-religions (48.1%) and oriental religions (50.3%) consider death as a natural phenomena however western religions (47.4%) consider that death is God's call. This difference was statistically significant. (x$^2$= 56.6419. df = 10. p<0.01). Respondents with a spouses (52.4%) think death is a natural phenomena opposed to respondent without spouses (33.3%). This was statistically significant. (x$^2$= 14.7134. df= 5 p<0.05). 2. Respondents in the house for aged persons (51.9%) replied. They do not wanted death because it meant a separation from their family as compared to those from school for aged persons (26.0%). 57.9% responded that they want to be told when death is confronted. 3. 51.2% of the respondents replied that the main factor to influence their attitude toward concept of death was the dying of their friends & relatives. 79.9% of respondents expressed that wished to die. The main reason for dying was economic shortage (28.3%). 4. 70.1% of the respondents want their body to be hurried while only 1.1% of the respondents want to donate their body to a medical research. 5. Over two thirds of the respondents replied that they do not believe in a life in heaven or that they will be rebirth. 6. The questioners of this study stimulated 56.8% of the respondents to feel that they should spend the leu of their life more effectively and 15.5% of the respondents felt it gave them the opportunity to think about their death seriously.
This nutritional survey was conducted from February 8 to March 10, 1994, in order to investigate the nutritional knowledge, food habits, nutritional attitude, food preferences and nutrient intakes of urban middle-aged women living in Daegu and Pohang district. The subjects of this survey were 164 urban middle-aged women living in Daegu and Pohang Area. The completely answered questionnaires were analyzed for nutritional knowledge, food habits, nutritional attitude, food preference and nutrient intakes of urban middle-aged women. The results obtained are summarized as follows: The subjects had a high level of perceived knowledge (82.9%), that is the knowledge that each subject believed she had, but the accuracy of the knowledge was only 66.1%. The average nutrition knowledge score was 8.26 out of possible 15 points, and food habit score was 5.50 out of 10 points. Most of the subjects belonged to 'Fair' or 'Good' food habit group, which is considered to be relatively good. With increasing age, the percentage of perceived knowledge, accuracy, and nutrition knowledge score were getting lower. But food habit score and nutritional attitude score were getting higher at 40's women than 30's women. The correlation between nutritional knowledge score and food habit score was low (r=0.0748). The correlation between nutritional attitude score and food habit score was low, too (r=-0.0653). Food preferences for kimchi, potato, cooked rice, beef, noodle, cabbage and milk were high. Average calorie and protein intake of the subjects were $1967.4{\pm}27.8\;Kcal$, $75.8{\pm}1.4\;g$ respectively. Carbohydrate, protein and fat ratio on energy composition was 63.3%:15.5%:21.2%.
This study aimed at comprehending the meaning of sexual life for aged people, their strength of sexual desire and causes of change in their sexual life. It was another purpose to understand the extent of aged people's acknowledging the necessity of sexual consultation. This study adopted descriptive method using open-ended questionaires. The data for study was collected from 26 people over 65 years who reside in communities. It was gathered from April to June of 1998 through interview. The interviewee includes 16 males, 9 females and their average age was 73.3. 19 people among them have spouses. The conclusion of this study can be summarized as follows. 1) Attitude to sexual life: The meaning of sexual life for aged people is categorized as 'sense of duty', 'feeling of intimacy', 'basic desire', 'decrease of meaning' and 'meaningless'. 2) Sexual desire: Sexual desire of aged people is categorized as 'extinction', 'decrease', 'continuation' and 'restraint'. Restraint of sexual desire is due to social convention or the difficulty in fulfilling desire. 3) Causes of troubles in sexual life Causes which lead to troubles in sexual life of aged people can be categorized as 'physical', 'psychological' and 'social'. 'Physical' elements include 'incompetence of erection', 'decrease in duration of erection', 'increase in time needed to re-erection', 'declining of physical strength', 'decrease in vagina secretion' and 'worsening of health'. Among 'psychological' elements 'decrease of self-confidence', 'diminished concern of female aged people' are. 'Social elements' are 'absence of sexual parter', 'circumstances of living' and 'recognition of neighbor'. 4) Response to change of sexual life The reaction of aged people to change of sexual activities is classified as 'positive' and 'negative'. 5) Attitude to the consultation of sexual life of aged people The attitude to the consultation of sexual life in old age is classified as 'negative', 'doubtful' and 'positive'. This study explored the meaning which aged people in community attach to sexual life, the extent of their sexual desire, the causes of troubles in their sexual life, their emotional response to changes in sexual life, their recognition of necessity in sexual consultation. Considering the frequency of the statement, most of aged people who were interviewed thought much of sexual life and put emphasis on it. Those who said that sexual life has decreased meaning or is not important to them are few, Though aged people still maintain sexual desire, most of them have some trouble in sexual life. These trouble changes the sexual life, and results in negative feeling such as depression, renunciation and difficulty in relations. So they acknowledged that sexual consultation is necessary to them.
This study explores consumers' intention and attitude to a group home for the middle class elderly, which provide local communities with the small residential spaces where seniors can feel at home. Questionnaire method was performed, and 193 data were gathered in Jeonju city. The results are as follows. When respondents have a size of house (66.2-99.1 $m^2$), elderly disease or dementia, and their annuity or their spouse annuity, and when they are much old, their intentions to move into a community friendly group home for the aged is detected. The respondents and their spouse with the pension of more than 2,000,000 (KRW)/month have an intention to move to this group home. Also, they and their spouse with annuity have positive attitude to it, and these goups with the pension of more than 2,000,000 (KRW)/month have low negative attitude to it. So, house size, health condition, and annuity are variables to determine to move into it.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of integrated menopause management program derived theoretical framework of King (1981)'s goal attainment theory model for middle aged women. Methods: This research was a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design. The subjects of this study were 37 middle aged women in Busan and experiencing menopause; 17 for the experimental group and 20 for the control group. Experimental group was educated for 1 hour group interchange activity and five minutes individual interchange activity, once a week during 8 weeks. Measurement for comparison were taken two times, at baseline, 8wks. The effects were evaluated with menopause symptom, menopause knowledge, menopause attitude and menopause management. Results: The experimental group was significantly lower than control group on menopause symptom (F=5.936, p=.010) and higher than control group on menopause knowledge (F=12.031, p=.001) and menopause management (F=5.861, p=.010) after integrated menopause management program. However integrated menopause management program did not make significant differences on menopause attitude (F=0.105, p=.374). Conclusion: Results indicate that integrated menopause management program could be an effective intervention decreasing menopause symptom and for increasing menopause knowledge, menopause management in middle aged women.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of hand washing education program on knowledge, attitude and practice of handwashing in elementary school. Methods: The subjects were 484 late school-aged children in Gyeonggi-do. Data were collected from Sep. 1 to Dec. 21, 2009. Results: 1) The handwashing education group (experimental group=E) showed higher score in knowledge of handwashing than the control group (C) (t=5.20, p<.001 ) as the E group scored 29.15(${\pm}3.24$) and the C group scored 27.52(${\pm}3.69$). 2) The E group showed higher score in attitude of handwashing than the C group (t=6.58, p<.001 ) as the E group scored 39.60(${\pm}4.33$) and the C group scored 36.96(${\pm}4.47$). 3) The E group showed higher score in practice of handwashing than the C group (t=2.64, p<.001). as the E group scored 45.90(${\pm}4.79$) and the C group scored 44.67(${\pm}5.33$). Conclusion: The experimental group showed significantly higher scores in knowledge, attitude, practice and cognition of handwashing. This proves that the handwashing program was effective. It is necessary to apply more systematic and various handwashing education programs for other grade at schools.

This study explores consumers' intention and attitude to a small scale cohousing for the aged, which provide local communities with the small residential spaces where seniors can feel at home. Questionnaire method is performed, and 193 data were gathered in Jeonju city. The results are as follows. When respondents have a professional job, a owned house size($66-99m^2$, $132m^2$ or more), and disease or dementia, their intentions to move into a community friendly co-housing for the aged is high. The shortcomings of this housing are perceived low by college or graduate school graduates, but middle or high school graduates do not perceive low them. The respondents with the annuity of less than 4,000,000(KRW)/month perceive them in normal or higher, while those with the annuity of 4,000,000(KRW)/month or more perceive them in low. This annuity will be as a cost criterion to accept to move in this housing.
The purpose of this study is to identify if there is difference in the attitude toward the elderly and the elderly patients among nursing students and nurses. Data were collected between August 1 and November 30, 2012 by using a structured questionnaire and the participants of this study were 423 nursing students in 6 universities and 244 nurses in 5 hospitals. The nursing students and nurses had more negative attitudes toward elderly patients than the elderly. There was difference in attitudes toward elderly patients according to grade, whether to take gerontological nursing course, the level of interest in the Aged, and whether to have experience in living with the old in the past among nursing students. There was difference in attitudes toward elderly patients according to the quality of volunteer service experience among nurses. In order to identify the attitudes accurately in nursing studies or education related to the elderly, the process to classify and define the objects of attitudes in details should be administered first.

This study was conducted to examine the effect of a CPR education program on middle-aged women's knowledge of and attitude toward CPR. It is a quasi-experimental study using a non-equivalent control group. 58 middle aged women who participated in a vocational education program in S city were divided into the experimental group (n=29) and control group (n=29). The experimental group participated in the CPR education program once a week for 4 weeks. The data collected were analyzed using the SPSS program, frequency, proportion, chi-square test, and paired t-test. After the application of the CPR education program, the experimental group showed a significantly significant increase in their knowledge (t=10.39, p<.001) and attitude (t=8.94, p<.001). The CPR education program improved the middle-aged women's knowledge of and attitude toward CPR.
