This letter introduces an efficient transmission of traffic information through a terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting system, which is a multimedia and mobility empowered option of the European digital audio broadcasting system. By adapting Korean characteristic traffic information into the transport protocol expert group messages in the traffic information delivery, a highly efficient traffic information system was implemented and tested in Korea.

A method of on-line recognition of Korean characters (Hangeul) by augmented conterxt free grammar is described in this paper. Syntactic analysis with context free grammar oftern has ambiguity. Insufficient description of relations among Hangrul sub-patterns causes this ambiguity can be determined through repetition of experiments. Flexible syntactic analysis is executed by adapting the condition to the (advice)part of augmented context free grammar. The ratio of correct recognition of this method is more than 99%.

This study intended to enhance understanding of concept and measurement of service quality and analyzed studies investigating dimension and attributes of service quality in both Korea and international foodservice industries. This study summarized many methodological issues related to service quality measurement, especially SERVQUAL. SERVQUAL has been criticized because performance-expectation difference operationalization threatened reliability and discriminant validity including shared method variance. Researcher suggests that future studies should understand clearly the concept of service quality and methodological issues of SERVQUAL prior to adapting SERVQUAL itself.

We study the periodic homogenization of the non-stationary Stokes equations. The fundamental homogenization theorem and corrector theorem are proved under a very general assumption on the viscosity coefficients and data. The proofs are based on a weak formulation suitable for an application of classical Tartar's method of oscillating test functions. Such a weak formulation is derived by adapting an argument in Teman's book [Navier-Stokes Equations: Theory and Numerical Analysis, North-Holland, Amsterdam, 1984].

With the increasing possibility of earthquake occurrence, seismic safety of bridges has become one of the most important social issues in Korea. In this study, a nonlinear earthquake response analysis is carried out for a real bridge by incorporating soil-structure interaction and pier nonlinearity. The material nonlinearity of the bridge pier is realized by utilizing SAP2000 whereas the soil-structure interaction is analized in time domain by adapting KIESSI. The numerical results are compared to those of the models without considering the effects.

The reaction path Smoluchowski equation approach developed in a recent work to calculate the rate constant for a diffusive multidimensional barrier crossing process is extended to incorporate the configuration-dependent diffusion matrix. The resulting formalism is then applied to the investigation of stilbene photoisomerization dynamics. Adapting a model two-dimensional potential and a model diffusion matrix proposed by Agmon and Kosloff [J. Phys. Chem.,91 (1987) 1988], we derive an eigenvalue equlation for the relaxation rate constant of the stilbene photoisomerization. This eigenvalue equation is solved numerically by using the finite element method. The advantages and limitations of the present method are discussed.

Higson proved that every homotopy invariant, stable and split exact functor from the category of C⁎-algebras to an additive category factors through Kasparov's KK-theory. By adapting a group equivariant generalization of this result by Thomsen, we generalize Higson's result to the inverse semigroup and locally compact, not necessarily Hausdorff groupoid equivariant setting.

신경보철 의수를 제어하기 위해서는 말초 신경신호를 측정하고 분석함으로써 사용자의 동작의도를 인식해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 다채널 신경전극 어레이, 전극 삽입 장치, 신경신호 증폭기로 구성된 말초 신경신호 측정 시스템을 제안한다. 마취상태에서 전극 삽입 장치를 이용하여 16 채널의 신경전극 어레이를 백서의 좌골신경에 안정적으로 삽입하였다. 수동적 관절 운동을 유도하거나 기계적 피부 자극을 인가하였을 때, 신경신호 증폭기를 통해 근육 또는 피부 감각 신경신호가 측정됨을 확인하였다. 또한, 개별 신경 단위를 분리하기 위해 활동전위 분류방법을 제안한다. 근육의 내부 수용기들은 근방추와 골지건 기관 수용기로 구분되었으며, 피부의 외부 수용기들은 완만적응과 급속적응 수용기로 분리되었다. 이와 같은 실험결과는 제안한 방법이 신경보철 시스템에서 말초 신경신호의 측정과 분석에 적용될 수 있음을 보였다.
