  • This study aims to examine the transition of the youth to the labor market by types of education and training institutes focusing employment rate. To construct the dataset for the analysis, the list of the graduates from 4-year universities, junior colleges, polytechnic colleges and the graduates from vocational training institutes as of February 2001 has been merged with the database for the insured in the Unemployment Insurance Database. This data enables tracking down of these graduates in terms of their mobility in the labor market. For graduates from universities and junior colleges, their scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test have been matched. One of major findings is that the longer the schooling period is, the better the employment results are. Among those who finished 4-year universities, those who went to schools in the metropolitan area achieve a relatively better record in job finding than those who attended schools in the local areas. Meanwhile it is confirmed that the SAT score is highly co-related with the performance in the labor market among those who finished 4-year universities. The co-relation of one's major with his/her employment is not negligible also.

  • Through the case analysis of the college start-up education consulting operated by the Center for Start-up Education, this study presented the direction of Uni. start-up education, such as regular subjects, comparative studies, commercialization of start-up businesses, and supporting infrastructure, and understood the meaning of start-up education. This study was conducted in three stages of literature research at 10 universities, pre-diagnosis questionnaire for practitioners, and visiting consulting, and presented design direction by separating universities (four-year colleges) and colleges of specialties. Universities (four-year colleges) need to make continuous efforts to create a specialized start-up valley for universities and start-up businesses using infrastructure with existing quantitative growth, and colleges need to establish professional and infrastructure for start-up education to suit the characteristics of their departments. In addition, it was urgent to introduce differentiated evaluation indicators for universities (four-year colleges) and colleges.

  • This study is investigation into the number of major subjects and computer-using subjects in department of interior architecture-related in 2008 & 2010 year. We arranged and analyzed collected data by searching homepages of subjects to survey and was able to reach conclusions as follows : Firstly, the number of department of interior architecture-related has decreased in colleges and universities at the same time in 2010 than 2008. Secondary, computer-using subjects tended to open lower grades than higher grades, so students used to control computer softwares easily. Thirdly, the purposes of computer-related subjects divide to four parts, 2dimensional-drafting, 2dimensional presentation, 3dimensional design, 3dimensional presentation(modeling and rendering included). Fourthly, from average 4.7 to 4.3 subjects have opened each the two year(2008, 2010) in college and from average 4.7 to 2.5 subjects in universities. and each 4(or5) subjects in college and 2(or 3) subjects in universities are opened mostly. Fifthly, Computer-related subjects tend to decrease the number of opening those subjects in universities, however it is necessary to be opened four computer-related subjects at least in order to design by using computer softwares.
