Role and Policies of STP in the Era of 4th Industrial Revolution from Triple Helix Viewpoint

  • This paper defines the role of the Science Park and makes policy recommendations for the "Era of $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution" from a Triple Helix viewpoint. The role of traditional science parks, and theory of Triple Helix and the $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution are reviewed, and strategies to cope with the $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution in a few advanced countries are analyzed. This paper finishes by suggesting strategies such as acceleration of networking, education to foster creative and innovative manpower and initiating capacity building projects for the advancement of Science Parks in the $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution.

  • The era of the 4th industrial revolution is a complex environment in which the cyber world and the physical world are integrated and interacted. In order to successfully implement and be sustainable the 4th industrial revolution of hyper-connectivity, hyper-convergence, and hyper-intelligence, not only the technological aspects that implemented digitalization but also the social aspects must be recognized and dealt with as important. There are socio-technical systems and socio-technical systems theory as concepts that describe systems involving complex interactions between the environmental aspects of human, mechanical and tissue systems. This study confirmed how the Socio-technical System was applied in the research literature for the last 10 years through machine learning-based analysis. Eight clusters were derived by performing co-occurrence keywords network analysis, and 13 research topics were derived and analyzed by performing a structural topic model. This study provides consensus and insight on the social and technological perspectives necessary for the sustainability of the 4th industrial revolution.

  • Since the announcement of President Klaus Schwab's fourth industrial revolution at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in January 2016, the fourth industrial revolution has emerged as a hot topic in our society. The United States, Japan, China, and Germany, which are major advanced nations, are preparing and implementing a strategy and system for responding to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, focusing on information and communication technology (ICT) and manufacturing convergence in response to the fourth industrial revolution era. Korea is announcing the expansion of financial support for R & D investment budget and related industries for major technology related to revolution. In this paper, we analyze the defense R & D project procedure of the Defense Improvement Project, which is responsible for the development of the defense weapon system, and present the development direction of the defense weapon system in accordance with the 4th world industrial revolution trend.

  • K. Suwab, a chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), reported the emerging of the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution by the convergence of artificial intelligence and robot as well as the fusion of true and virtual reality in the WEF 2016. He suggested the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution would change greatly the paradigm of industry and society in the future, and damage the security and quality of the human job severely. In this review the argument of terminology, the impacts on economics, industry technologies and jobs by the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution have been discussed. And the role of magnetics on the 2-4th industrial revolutions was reviewed briefly.

  • The world is now going through the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Major global economies, including the United States, Germany, Japan and China, are fostering industries related to the fourth industrial revolution with policies and investments. South Korea is also setting up its fourth industrial revolution committee under the president, expanding policies and investment to foster industries related to the fourth industrial revolution, and increasing investment in research and development. Accordingly, government and private investment in industries and technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution is made extensively around the world, and many related industries and technologies are being developed. In this paper, we will look into the status and problems of Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration projects that can quickly and easily introduce technologies related to the fourth industrial revolution in the private sector where many developments are taking place, and present the direction of development.

  • Since the 4th industrial revolution was thrown into the world at the Davos World Economic Forum in January 2016, the world has been undergoing major social and economic changes. In this study, the direction of quality management in the 4th industrial revolution era was examined. First, in all the major countries the industrial structural changes and smart business models were confirmed due to the convergence of new ICT such as IoT, robotics, 3D printing, big data, and AI with the existing technologies and industries. Second, we found that although the core technology level of the 4th industrial revolution in Korea is not as good as that of advanced countries, we have been working on expanding smart production methods and creating new industries by utilizing new ICT. Finally, it was confirmed that quality management is a real-time implementation of new ICT that reflects the needs of the market in real time based on big data from the planning and design stage of products or services.

  • Purpose: After using the Internet, the world is changing through several paradigms, and the retail industry, which is essential to living in the world, is also changing rapidly. In this review paper, the requirements that the retail industry should consider and prepare in accordance with the rapidly changing paradigm were reviewed according to the current situation of the times. Research design, data, and methodology: It is a review of technological development using PRISMA flow diagram, retail change, and necessity in April 2022, and a review of the digital environment to be applied to the retail industry in the future. Results As the current situation and changes of retail, and the development of IT technology, reviews on the retail business applying the 4th Industrial Revolution, the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence were collected, and the direction of the retail industry was suggested. Conclusions: The direction for the retail industry in preparation for developing technologies was presented. In addition, this study is a review paper that suggests the need for research on active introduction of new technologies to the beauty market that is very close to human life and economically helpful as IT technology for the 4th industrial revolution develops rapidly.

A Study on the 4th Industrial Revolution and Gender Gap (제4차 산업혁명과 성별 격차에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose : To analyze how the Fourth Industrial Revolution affects the gender gap. Method : This study regressed the relationship between ICT development index, network Readiness index and gender gap in 145 countries all over the world. Results : The ICT development index was not statistically significant, but the network readiness index was positively correlated with female labor participation rate and gender wage equality ratio, indicating that the progress of the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution increased female participation in labor but the wage gap has been shown to intensify. Conclusion : The results verify the hypothesis that the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution led by the information and communication revolution affects the labor market conditions of women.

  • Nowadays, we are standing in front of the $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution that is featured by a great range of new and advanced technologies that influences all the domains of economies and industries. The great question that this revolution raises is how it can lead to a future that reflects the peoples' common objectives and values on how these advanced technologies can affect the life and transform the economic, social, cultural, and human environment. It is commonly agreed that to be adapted to these changes and needs and shape a society with competitive economies with highly-skilled individuals, we need to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, new knowledge generation and exchange and true and effective collaboration and communication. In this complex scene, education seems to have a central and critical role on finding new ways of developing expertise and innovation within the existing knowledge procedures, with more and better cooperation between the key players. This paper argues the concepts, opportunities and challenges that are related to the learning ecosystem towards the needs raised by the $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution. The education is discussed as catalyst but also as carrier of innovation and innovation practices and the basis of a relevant framework is presented that takes into account all the aspects, domains and key players of educational world and interacting domains. Having introduced the ideas of innovation, collaboration and technology advancement in this environment, this paper also presents a real case of practice, focusing on how more than 5.000 schools around Europe succeeded the last four (4) years to implement innovation activities in a collaborative way and under a unique but also flexible pedagogical innovation framework.

  • As the 4th Industrial Revolution(Industry 4.0), symbolized as CPS(Cyber Physical System), spreads around the world, it is essential to establish a converged security infrastructure to secure technical stability and reliability of various cyber systems to be implemented in the future. In this study, we will investigate the phenomenon of broad convergence security industry and technology including the concept of life safety in relation to the spread of the 4th industrial revolution, and analyze the possibility of linkage between related knowledge to promote academic-industrial cooperation necessary for the convergence of security. we would like to propose a comprehensive development policy on human resource development, technology development and policy improvement.
