  • This study examined users' acceptance process with the QR code as an interactive marketing communications tool. We collected total 200 survey data and 181 questionnaires among them were used for the analysis during for five days, from 9 to 13 in May 2011. The first research question of this study examined the relationship among subjective norms, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitudes, and intention to use through the structural equation modeling analysis. The result of the first research showed that subjective norms about the use of QR code affect intention to use via perceived usefulness, and also directly influence on it. The perceived usefulness has the biggest impact on the intention to use. The research question 2 was to look at the condition effect with the presence of experience. As the analysis result of the second research question, the relationships between subjective norms and perceived usefulness are not different whether or not groups experience QR code, and both groups appeared to have had significant impact. Whereas the relationship between subjective norms and intention to use showed a significant influence on the population that has the experience with the QR code. In order to encourage use of the QR code, therefore, we will need to highly impress on users subjective norms which are ambient pressure on the use of QR code and positively offer marketing strategy which gives users the opportunities to get experience with the QR code.

  • 4WD technology is being actively applied to passenger cars. Therefore, dry multi-plate clutches are used for transfer cases. On the other hand, dry clutches have problems related to large vibrations and poor ride quality. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a multi-plate clutch with an MR fluid. When fastening the multi-plate clutch in the transfer case, the proposed MR clutch was applied to reduce the shock and friction, which is a key component in a four-wheel-drive system. MR multi-plate clutch has a fluid coupling mode and a compression mode. A torque model equation was derived for the optimal design. The analysis was performed using Ansys Maxwell to optimize the design parameters of the multi-plate clutch. Electromagnetic field analysis confirmed the strength of the magnetic field when the number of disks and plates were changed, and the maximum strength of the magnetic field was 0.45 Tesla. By applying this to the torque equation, the spacing between the plates was 2 mm, and the inner and outer diameters of the plates were selected to be 45 mm and 55 mm, respectively. Overall, this paper proposes an optimal design technique to maximize the performance of an MR multi-plate clutch.

  • The resource-based view (RBV) explains that the competitive advantage is mainly based on the resources which have strategic characteristics. Therefore, finding, developing and maintaining strategically valuable resources has been one of main research topics and a starting point in the corporate strategy structure in RBV. In this regards, attempts to recognize strategically valuable resources have been one of crucial issues in RBV researches. Especially, Barney's VRIO has been widely used as a practical tool for finding strategically valuable resources. However, empirical studies on VRIO framework's effectiveness have not been sufficiently implemented, and there has been no proven relation among the components of the VRIO so far. This is mainly because the concepts or definitions on core components of the VRIO - Value, Rareness, Inimitability, and Organization - are too comprehensively explained and measurements of each component cannot be easily quantified. Considering these, this paper presents empirical results of the relation between VRIO components and competitive advantage, and tests effectiveness of VRIO Framework with utilizing sufficient technology evaluation cases and financial statements of 2,252 technology based SMEs in Korea. As a result, the components of the VRIO have a positive influence on competitive advantage. The attributes of strategic resources - Value, Rareness, and Inimitability - have a statistically meaningful positive effect on organization, while organization has a positive effect on the competitive advantage serving as a parameter between the attributes of strategic resources and competitive advantage.

  • The threat to information security is growing globally. To this, organizations are increasing the weight of adapting and operating the more specialized information security policy and system. Information security requires participation from the employees who execute the security system and policy, and to increase the level of organization's internal security, requires organization's systematic support to improve employees' information security compliance intention. This research finds the mechanism for improving employee's information security compliance intention by applying justice theory and goal setting theory in information security. We use structural equation modeling to verify the research hypothesis, and conducted a survey on the employees of organization with information security policy. In other words, this research performs verification of the research model based hypothesis which claims that security policy goal setting has positive influence on employee's level of security related justice recognition, and claims that justice has positive influence on compliance intention. The object of study is the employees of the organization that adapts information security policy, and 383 valid samples were collected via survey. Structural equation modeling was performed to verify the research hypothesis. The result shows that security policy goal factor (goal difficulty, goal specificity) improves employee's security related justice recognition, and that security related justice (distribution, process, and information justice) has positive influence on compliance intention. The result suggests the strategic approach directions for improving employees' compliance intention on organization's security policy.

  • This research is focused on the inducement of the constitutive equation considering the creep strain component and on the development of a finite element method program. The purpose of this research was to contribute to the design of construction structures or to the construction management in soft clay ground through predicting the long-term strain of construction structures reasonably bused on the above program. Modified Cam Clay model was adopted to describe the elastic-plastic behavior of clayey soil. And in the calculation of the creep sprain, the secondary coefficient of consolidation C. was applied for considering the volumetric creep element and the constants m, $\alpha$, A were rosed by the empirical creep equation proposed by Singh 8E Mitchell for considering the deviatoric creep element. To examine the reliability of the program which is developed in this study, the estimated values by this program were compared with the theoretical solution and the experimental results. And the applicability of the developed program was found to be reliable from the sensitive analysis of each parameters used in this study. According to the results obtained from the application of the program on the field measurement data, the estimated values by the program were found with be consistent with the actual values. And from the analysis of the displacement of embankments, the case of considering the creep behavior induced much fower errors than the case of neglecting it. But the results obtained from considering the volumetric creep behavior only were slightly underestimated the results from considering the deviator creep behavior showed the slightly overestimated values. Therefore, it remains the task of further studios to develop the laboratory test devices to obtain the reliable creep parameters, and to select the appropriate soil parameters, etc.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the water storage charateristics of surface soil by different forest floor conditions and to measure water storage capacity of forest Land at the Yeungnam University forest in Yongjang-ri, Nenam-myoen, Kyongju-gun, Kyongsangbuk-do. The study was conducted for 4 months, from June to September, 1993. The results were summarized as follows ; 1. Infiltration capacity of surface soil for each. forest floor condition was in the order : Oak forest>Oak forest removed $A_o$ layer>Pine forest removed $A_o$ layer>Pine forest>Bare land>Grasses. 2. The absolute values of infiltration capacity were increased as the rain intensity increased, while the order of infiltration capacity for each floor condition was not changed. 3. Infiltration capacity was highly correlated with surface soil hardness and todal pores. 4. Infiltration formula based on the Horton's could be estimated at each forest floor condition. 5. The model for water storage capacity of forest land expressed by infiltration capacity was estimated using total pores and soil hardness. This study indicates water storage capacity of different forest floor conditions depends on infiltration capacity. Using these formula, it was possible to calculate and estimate water storage capacity of forest land. Therefore, the result of this study will be helpful to increase water storage capacity of forest land and to manage water resources effectively.

  • The characteristics of a helical turbine to be used for tidal stream energy conversion have been numerically studied with varying a few design parameters. The helical turbines were proposed aiming at mitgating the well known poor cut-in characteristics and the structural vibration caused by the fluctuating torque, and the basic concept is introducing some twisting angle of the vertical blade along the rotation axis of the turbine. Among many potential controling parameters, we focused, in this paper, on the twisting angle and the height to diameter ratio of the turbine, and, based on the numerical experiment, We tried to propose a configuration of such turbine for which better performance can be expected. The three-dimensional unsteady RANS equations were solved by using the commercial CFD software, FLUENT with k-${\omega}$ SST turbulence model, and the grid was generated by GAMBIT. It is shown that there are a range of the twisting angle producing better efficiency with less vibration and the minimum height to diameter ratio above which the efficiency does not improve considerably.

  • A method and results of computations are presented for the 2-D seismic migration process in the frequency-wavenumber domain for the laterally and vertically inhomogeneous medium. In order to take the intrinsic attenuation effect into account in the migration process the complex-valued wave velocity is used in the wavefield extrapolation operator, improving the generalized frequency-wavenumber migration technique. The imaginary part of the complex-valued wave velocity includes the seismic quality factor Q value. In derivation of the solution of the wave equation for the medium of inhomogeneous wave velocity and anelasticity, the inhomogeneous medium is mathematically converted to an equivalent system which consists of a homogeneous medium of averaged slowness and an inhomogeneous distribution of hypothetical wave source. The strength of the hypothetical wave source depends on the deviation of squared slowness from the averaged value of the medium. Results of numerical computation using the technique show more distinct geologic images than those using the convensional generalized frequency-wavenumber migration. Especially, the obscured images due to the wave attenuation by anelasticity are restored to show sharp boundaries of structures. The method will be useful in the imaging of the reflection data obtained in the regions of possible petroleum or natural gas reservoir and of fractured zone.

  • Three-dimensional nonlinear sloshing effects due to tank motions are simulated by solving boundary value problem using the panel method based on boundary integral technique. While Shinkai used boundary elements on which source strengths vary linearly between nodes, the source of constant strength is distributed on each triangular panel in the present study. The source strength at each time step is determined by solving the Fredholm integral equation of the second kind obtained from Green's theorem. To avoid cumulative numerical errors as time elapses, Adam-Bashforth-Moulton method is employed. Numerical examples for the case of partially filled spherical tank on board oscillating in harmonic sway mode or pitch mode are solved. The elevation of the free surface is compared with the result by Shinkai and confirmed in good agreement during early time. The input and the output energy are comparatively evaluated to check the overall accuracy of the present numerical scheme. Although some leakage of energy are found as time marches, it is plausible when we take into account nonlinearities of the problem and the number of panels of the model.

  • The cable damages of the bridge structures induce very important impact on the structural safety, which implies the close monitoring of the cable damage is required to secure sustained safety of the bridges. Most usual available maintenance techniques are based on the monitoring the change of the natural frequency of the structures by damages. However, existing method are based on vibration method to calculate lateral vibration and system identification can calculate the axial stiffness using sensitivity equation by trial error method. But the frequency study by the longitudinal movement need because of the sag effect in system identification. This study proposes a new method to investigate the damage magnitudes and status. The method improves the accuracies in the magnitudes and status of damages by adopting the natural frequency of longitudinal movement. The study results have been validated by comparing them with the approximate solution of FEM. Thus, the relationship of cable damage and frequency appear with relation that the severe damage has the little frequency. If we know the real frequency we can estimate the cable damage severity using this relationship. This method can be possible the efficient management of the cable damage.
