The histological structure and the pathologic lesions of teleost skin (어류피부의 조직학적 구조와 병변)

  • The skin of fishes is also the important external barrier against a variety of the environmental detrimental agents, allowing normal internal physiological function, so its condition is very important in many disease processes. Since fishes are aquatic, morphologically and physiologically they posses specific characteristics lacking in terrestial animals. Thus, it is necessary to keep in mind various specific histologic characteristics for a precise interpretation of the histopathological lesions. In the normal environment the fish skin is more subtly adapted for its physiological requirements as a limiting barrier than the skin of higher terrestial vertebrates. However, its delicacy makes it high vulnerable to damage in fish culture facilities or polluted waters. Although changes in the skin of fish such as discoloration, ulcerative lesions, are the the most readily observed clinical features of fish, there is a wide variety of possible responses, which are best considered in terms of their site within the skin. Up to now, there are relatively few sytematically described information on the histological structure of the teleost skin as well as integrated reviews of the range of pathological processes that can occur in teleost skin. Therefore it was tried in this article to rearrange the information already described by other investigators on the histological structure and histopathological changes of teleost skin.

Zircon morphology of the Pre-Cretaceous basement rocks and Cretaceous Hayang Group sandstones in the northeastern part of Gyeongsang Basin and its implication to provenance of the sandstones (경상분지 북동부 선백악기 기반암류와 백악기 하양층군 사암의 저어콘 결정 형태학 및 사암의 기원암)

  • This study is aimed at elucidating the source rocks of the Hayang strata in the northeastern part of the Gyeongsang Basin. Zircon morphology was analyzed for sandstones from the Iljig, Hupyeongdong, and Jeomgog formations of the Hayang Group and Precambrian gneisses and Jurassic granites. Generally, the composite zircon crystals extracted from the basement rocks and the Hayang Group sandstones show short prismatic to middle prismatic shapes. {110)={100) prism type is dominant and (101) pyramid is the average of the zircon morphology data. Zircon index@) and the shape trend characteristics clearly show that the zircon crystal forms of the Iljig and Hupyeongdong sandstones are dominantly similar to those of the biotite banded gneiss and granite gneiss of Precambrian age. Zircon morphology of the Jeomgog sandstones is dominantly similar to those of the Jurassic granites. Referring to the reported paleocurrent result, the source rocks of the Iljig and Hupyeongdong formations are mainly the Precambrian gneisses distributed in the southeastern and northeastern parts, respectively. And Jeomgog sandstones were mainly derived from Cheongsong granite at Cheongsong uplift region in the eastern part. At the time of completion of the Hupyeongdong sedimentation, the Precambrian basement rocks were severely eroded and formed low topography. During the Jeomgog period, the Jurassic granites which intruded the Precambrian basement began to crop out on the surface. The basin widely extended toward the east and the exposed Jurassic granite of Cheongsong uplift region actively supplied the sediments to the basin.

Thermodynamic Performance Analysis of Ammonia-Water Power Generation System Using Low-temperature Heat Source and Liquefied Natural Gas Cold Energy (저온 열원과 LNG 냉열을 이용하는 암모니아-물 동력 사이클의 열역학적 성능 해석)

  • In this study, a thermodynamic analysis was carried out for a combined power generation system using a low-temperature heat source in the form of sensitive energy and liquefied natural gas cold energy. An ammonia-water mixture, which is a zeotropic mixture, was used as the working fluid, and systems with and without a regenerator were comparatively analyzed. The effects of the mass fraction of ammonia and the condensation temperature of the working fluid on the system variables, including the net work production, exergy destruction, and thermal and exergy efficiencies, are analyzed and discussed. The results show that the performance characteristics of the system varied sensitively with the ammonia concentration or condensation temperature of the working fluid. The system without regeneration was found to be better in relation to the net work per unit mass of the source fluid, whereas the system with regeneration was better in relation to the thermal or exergy efficiency.

  • An efficient method for determining forced responses of a general linear structural system in time domain using subtructure modes and Lagrange multipliers is presented. Compared with the conventional mode synthesis methods, the suggested method does not construct the equations of motion of the combined whole structure and thus the modal parameters of the whole structure are not required. Only modal parameters of each substructure and geometric compatibility conditions are needed. Both the loaded interface free-free modes and free interface modes can be employed as the modal bases of each substructure. Recurrence discrete-time state equations based upon state transition matrix are formulated for the transient analysis of a parameter-changing system. It is shown form numerical examples that the suggested method is very accurate and efficient to calculate transient responses compares with the direct numerical integration method.

KSTAR 진공용기 및 플라즈마 대향 부품에 대한 베이킹 해석

  • KSTAR(Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) 핵융합 실험 장치의 진공용기 및 진공용기 내부의 플라즈마 대향 부품들은 초고진공 (5$\times$10-9 Torr)의 달성을 위해 진공용기 내부의 이물질(H2, H2O, CO, CO2, CH4 등) 제거를 목적으로 SS316LN인 진공용기는 25$0^{\circ}C$, 탄소 물질인 플라즈마 대향부품은 35$0^{\circ}C$ 정도까지 가열(이하 베이킹)할 필요성이 있다. 이 가열방법으로 고온 질소가스를 진공용기 이중벽 사이로 흘려주는 방식과 코일에 저주파 교류전류를 흘려 진공용기를 유도가열하는 방식이 고려되고 있는데, 유도가열방식은 최대 유도 전력이 70kW 정도로 실제 베이킹에 필요한 열량을 공급하는데 있어 적잖이 부족하며 또 국부적인 가열 특성으로 인하여 KSTSR의 베이킹 방식은 전자의 가열방식을 우선적으로 채택하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 0-차원 해석을 통하여 진공용기와 플라즈마 대향 부품들에 대한 베이킹 계획을 결정하고 이를 만족시키기 위해 투입해야 할 열량을 직선적으로 증가하는 온도 곡선에서 각 부분의 온도 상승률을 다르게 설정한 세 경우와 F-자 형태로 변화하는 온도 곡선의 경우에 대해 각각 적용하여 시간에 따른 필요열량을 비교.검토하였으며, 이를 근거로 안정적인 베이킹 계획을 선정하였고 이 베이킹 계획의 실현을 위해 투입해야 할 고온 질소가스의 유량과 온도 도달시간까지 매 시간에서의 가스온도를 산출하였다. 토러스 형상의 토카막 진공용기와 플라즈마 대향 부품 및 다층단열재에 대한 해석 모델은 길이가 유한한 0-차원 실린더 모델로 가정하였고, 이에 대한 기하학적 성질 및 열역학적 성질은 유효계수를 고려하여 산출하였다. 진공용기 이중 벽 내부로 흐르는 질소가스의 유량과 온도의 계산은 진공용기 내벽과 외벽을 각각 독립적인 열전달 요소로 가정하여 구성한 모델을 이용하였다. 전체 해석에서 각 열전달 요소의 비열 값은 온도에 따라 변화하는 비열의 특성을 반영하였으며. 진공용기와 플라즈마 대향 부품의 방사율(emissivity)은 앞서 가정했던 각 온도 상승 곡선에 대해서 각각 0.1, 0.2, 1.3의 경우를 가정하여 계산하였다. 직선적으로 증가하는 온도 상승 곡선중 2$0^{\circ}C$/hr의 온도상승율을 갖는 경우가 다른 베이킹 시나리오 모델에 비해 효과적이라 생각되며 초대 필요 공급열량은 200kW 정도로 산출되었다. 실질적인 수치를 얻기 위해 보다 고차원 모델로의 해석이 필요하리라 생각된다. 끝으로 장기적인 관점에서 KSTAR 장치의 베이킹 계획도 살펴본다.

Moment Magnifier Method for RC Flat Plate Subject to Combined Axial Compressive and Floor Load (면내 압축력을 받는 플랫 플레이트 슬래브에 대한 모멘트 증대법)

  • This paper presents a numerical study for developing the moment magnifier method that is applicable to RC flat plates subject to combined axial compressive and floor load. For the nonlinear finite element analysis, a computer program addressing material and geometric nonlinearities was developed. The flat plates to be studied are designed in accordance with the Direct Design Method in Korean Building Code for Structural Concrete. This paper proposes the buckling force and the moment magnification factor for the flat plate under the governing load condition that is the combined vertical and subsequently applied uniaxial compressive load. The buckling force is defined with two ingredients: the buckling coefficient and the effective flexural rigidity. Parametric studies are performed to investigate variations of the buckling coefficient and the effective flexural rigidity. Based on the numerical results, this paper provides the design values of the buckling coefficient and the effective flexural rigidity, and the design procedure for the moment magnifier method.

A Study on Velocity-Log Conductivity, Velocity-Head Cross Covariances in Aquifers with Nonstationary Conductivity Fields (비정체형 지하대수층의 속도-대수투수계수, 속도-수두 교차공분산에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, random flow field in a nonstationary porous formation is characterized through cross covariances of the velocity with the log conductivity and the head. The hydraulic head and the velocity in saturated aquifers are found through stochastic analysis of a steady, two-dimensional flow field without recharge. Expression for these cross covariances are obtained in quasi-analytic forms all in terms of the parameters which characterize the nonstationary conductivity field and the average head gradient. The cross covariances with a Gaussian correlation function for the log conductivity are presented for two particular cases where the trend is either parallel or perpendicular to the mean head gradient and for separation distances along and across the mean flow direction. The results may be of particular importance in transport predictions and conditioning on field measurements when the log conductivity field is suspected to be nonstationary and also serve as a benchmark for testing nonstationary numerical codes.   • When a ship propeller having wing type sections rotates at high speed underwater, local pressure on the blade decreases and various types of the cavitation inevitably occur where the local pressure falls below the vapor pressure. Fundamentally characteristics of the cavitation are determined by the shapes of the blade section and their operating conditions. Underwater noise radiated from a ship propeller is directly connected to the occurrence of the cavitation. In order to design low noise propeller, it is preferentially demanded to figure out key features: how the cavity is generated, developed and collapsed and how the effect of viscosity works in the process. In this study, we first perform inviscid analysis of the partial cavity generated on two dimensional hydrofoil. Secondly, viscous analysis using FLUENT with different turbulence and cavitation models are presented. Results from both approaches are also compared and estimated.

  • In this paper, the drain induced barrier lowering(DIBL) for doping distribution in the channel has been analyzed for double gate MOSFET(DGMOSFET). The DGMOSFET is extensively been studing because of adventages to be able to reduce the short channel effects(SCEs) to occur in convensional MOSFET. DIBL is SCE known as reduction of threshold voltage due to variation of energy band by high drain voltage. This DIBL has been analyzed for structural parameter and variation of channel doping profile for DGMOSFET. For this object, The analytical model of Poisson equation has been derived from Gaussian doping distribution for DGMOSFET. To verify potential and DIBL models based on this analytical Poisson's equation, the results have been compared with those of the numerical Poisson's equation, and DIBL for DGMOSFET has been investigated using this models.

Analysis of Subthreshold Swing for Double Gate MOSFET Using Gaussian Function (가우스함수를 이용한 DGMOSFET의 문턱전압이하 스윙분석)

  • In this paper, the relationship of potential and charge distribution in channel for double gate(DG) MOSFET has been derived from Poisson's equation using Gaussian function. The subthreshold swing has been investigated according to projected range and standard projected deviation, variables of Gaussian function. The analytical potential distribution model has been derived from Poisson's equation, and subthreshold swing has been obtained from this model. The subthreshold swing has been defined as the derivative of gate voltage to drain current and is theoretically minimum of 60mS/dec, and very important factor in digital application. Those results of this potential model are compared with those of numerical simulation to verify this model. As a result, since potential model presented in this paper is good agreement with numerical model, the subthreshold swings have been analyzed according to the shape of Gaussian function.
