Development of headlight controller useing relay for Automotive HID Lamp (릴레이를 이용한 차량용 HID램프의 헤드라이트 컨트롤러 개발)

  • 본 논문에서는 After-market에서 자동차 헤드라이트 상 하향 빔 전환 시스템으로 주로 사용하고 있는 solenoid 방식의 여러 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 차량용 릴레이를 이용한 HID램프의 헤드라이트 상 하향 전환 컨트롤 방식를 제안하였다. 특히, 차종에 따라 달라지는 상 하향 빔 전환 입력신호에 대하여 릴레이가 일정하게 상 하향 동작을 할 수 있는 signal selector회로를 구성하고, 두 개의 램프를 relay로 전환하는 방식을 채택함으로서 그 동안 자동차 하우징 구조상 기존 H4 타입에만 국한되어 오던 차량용 HID램프의 헤드라이트 상 하향 빔 전환 시스템을 H1, H3, H7, H11, 9004, 9006, 9007 등 다른 베이스타입의 벌브에도 적용이 가능하도록 하여 우수한 범용성을 갖도록 하였다.

Inspection of Vehicle Headlight Defects (차량 헤드라이트 불량검사 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a method to determine whether there is a defect by using the similarity between ROIs (Region of Interest) of the standard image and ROIs of the image which is corrected in position and rotation after capturing the vehicle headlight. The degree of similarity is determined by the template matching based on the histogram of image, which is a some modification of the method provided by OpenCV where template matching is performed on the raw image not the histogram. The proposed method is compared with the basic method of OpenCV for performance analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the proposed method showed better performance than the OpenCV method, showing the accuracy close to 100%.

  • This automotive headlight control system is newly proposed that, under my slope degree of the driving mad(flat up-hill, and down-hill) at night driving, the reflecting mirror of the headlight can be automatically controlled for safe driving. At first whether or not any vehicle is driven near is checked by photo sensor. Secondly, using the slope degree of the automotive feedbacked from the tilt sensor, the servo motor with the headlight is controlled to be turned right or down to the suitable angle. The servo motor is appropriately controlled according to road conditions. The proposed headlight control system is designed on the basis of the tested illumination intensity obtained according to any slope degree of roads. Finally, it is confirmed that the test model works very well in the given road conditions and environments.

  • This paper proposes a new vehicle model recognition using scale invariant feature transform to car's headlights image. Proposed vehicle model recognition raises the accuracy using "homogeneity" calculated from the distribution of features. In the experiment with 400 test images taken from 54 different vehicles, proposed method has 90% recognition rate and 16.45 homogeneity.

  • An electronic ballast for driving automotive HID lamps is presented. The circuit topology is composed of a fly back converter, a half bridge inverter, and igniter using voltage doubler. A prototype was developed and tested on a 35W lamp with a 12V input voltage. To avoiding acoustic resonance the half bridge inverter is operated at 400Hz and provided a squared-wave voltage source to the lamp. The transient and steady state characteristics of the tested HID lapm are measured and analyzed.

  • In This Paper, the Classification Speed of Vehicle Headlight Modules is Improved by a CPU-based Parallel Processing Using OpenMP. Also, a Classification Method of Headlight Modules which Extracts their Features after Revising their Alignment is Proposed. To Analyze the Performance of the Proposed Method, the Discrimination Accuracy and the Processing Speed were Compared with the Method Using Gray Image and the Method Using Line Detection. As the Results of the Analysis, in the Discrimination Accuracy, the Proposed Method and the Line Detection Method Showed good Performance, but the Proposed Method Showed Better Performance than the Line Detection Method by the Processing Speed. Also, the Gray-based Method was the Best in Processing Speed, but the Proposed Method is Better than the Gray-based Method in the Discrimination Accuracy.

  • A new scheme of the automotive High Intensity Discharge (HlD) lamp ballast systems is proposed. The p proposed scheme consists of the high frequency IX DC converter and the low frequency DC-AC inverter, like t that the conventional HID ballast system. However, this system separates the input voltage of the ignitor from t the dc link voltage, which results in the use of lower voltage rating power devices for the HID lamp ballast s system, comparlu with convention띠 system. As a result, proposed system has a lower cost and higher e efficiency. This paper presents th$\varepsilon$ design and anlaysis of the propoSlU ballast and some 앉아、nmental results.

LED Headlight, Safety and Application in Oral Surgery (구강 수술에 사용가능한 LED 헤드라이트의 안전성 및 실용성)

  • Background and Objectives : LED(Light emitting diode) is recently introduced as a energy-saving light source in many area including agriculture and environment. In medical field it is known as bright and safe light source in surgical lighting including headlight. This study is aimed to test effectiveness and cost-saving of mountain-climbing headlight in comparison with xenon headlight. Materials and Methods : Internet market-available mountain-climbing headlight was compared with medical xenon headlight regarding heat generation after 30 minutes' usage, intensity of illumination and possible burn to the perioral skin. To get temperature data, 5 cases of tonsillectomy were done with the aid of LED headlight, while another 5 tonsillectomies were done using xenon headlight. Results : The temperatures of all light sources were below 45 degrees Celcius until finish of the surgery without burn or complications. No differences in operation time with both headlights. The maximal intensities of illumination were 24000 Lux for xenon, 20000 Lux for LED. Conclusion : Mountain-climbing headlight could be safe and helpful light source with low cost in simple oral surgery.
