Analysis of Interrelation between Image and Text as Fusion Relationship -Through Advertising Production Class- (융합적 관계로서의 이미지와 텍스트의 상호관계성 분석 연구 -광고 제작 수업을 통하여-)

  • This study explores the relationship between images and texts through advertising production using images and texts, and analyzes the student works with the semiotics of Roland Barth. Since Barth emphasized the interpreter's interpretation rather than the producer's intention in his work, he interpreted the work as a receiver. It was analyzed in terms of socio-cultural meaning of what students produced in the works. A total of 64 classes were held for the first two classes in D high school. The results of analyzing students' works after the advertisement production class are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing Barth 's myth structure model, advertisement image and text are symbols and have meaning. Second, advertising image and text complement each other and have the characteristic of interrelationship that constitutes meaning. Third, By attracting the socio-cultural implications inherent in the students' advertising, their values and interests could be discovered.

The Awareness Comparison about Creative Converged Competence for the Capstone Design among Engineering Students (공과대학생의 종합설계에 대한 창의융합 인식 비교)

  • We studied the perceived creative ability, convergent thinking and creative leadership related to converged capabilities among students who participated in the capstone design and graduation works and those who did not participate. In creative ability, students who participated capstone design and graduation works need more curriculum and non-curriculum activities for the idea generation through the understanding of various majors, but overall, they achieved higher positive results than the nonparticipating students. For creative leadership and convergent thinking, students with capstone design and graduation works showed a more positive capabilities, while students with nonparticipating students showed a slightly lack of creative thinking of higher order thinking, the logical analysis of complex phenomena, and overall understanding.

  • In this paper, the proceedings and core procedures that involved the role of advisor to the theme, the set up rule of students, and complete the work steps involved in configuring graduate work that the overall design curriculum and graduation standards are summarized. The one or two students are designated as one team, and by the designated professor was conducted a discussion and technical guidance. Among various topics from 2011 to 2015, some specific results configured using a small drone and smartphones are presented. The survey are compared the activity results for the participating students in one major each in 2011 and 2015 and analyzed. Based on this review for improvement next year notes, it forms a continuous improvement, and has converged talents with passion and challenging spirit, sharing a plan to form a virtuous cycle that is associated with positive employment and entrepreneurship.

A Case Study of Untact Lecture on Albert Camus' La Peste using Big Data (빅데이터를 활용한 『페스트』(알베르 카뮈) 비대면 문학 강의 운영 사례 연구)

  • This is a case study on the use of Albert Camus' La Peste, which has gained its popularity in today's generation of post-COVID as well as the use of big data analysis tools for major and elective classes. First, we asked students majoring in French to compare the use of vocabulary and the number of appearances for characters using big data analysis, for about 400 pages of the original text. As a result, we were able to confirm a similar relationship between Camus' Absurdism and the vocabulary used within La Peste, in addition to noting the heavy frequency of resistant characters. Students in elective classes were asked to read the literature in a Korean-translated version to determine the frequency of vocabulary and characters' appearances. Students were able to strongly relate to La Peste due to its commonality between COVID and the plague in the literature. We also received high levels of class satisfaction regarding the use of big data analysis tools. The students showed a positive response both towards choosing La Peste as the work of literature and using big data, the main tool in the Fourth Industrial Evolution. We were able to identify good results even in a non-contact environment, as long as the literature does not rely on traditional methods but rather lectures to reflect current situations.

  • 초등학교 6학년을 대상으로 6회 총 120분 동안 1996을 활용해서 1에서 100까지 수를 만들게 하는 활동을 한 결과를 제시하고 분석하였다. 이 퍼즐 과제 활동은 아이들의 수학적 사고를 많이 향상시켰으며, 수학적 성향을 강화시켰다. 특히, 이 과제에서 아이들은 협동의 이점을 알게 되었고 수학적 의사소통의 중요성도 경험하는 계기가 되었다. 무엇보다도 지수, 제곱근, 가우스 함수의 아이디어가 먼저 제시되고, 후속학습이 일어났다. 계산기가 어떻게 활용되어야 하는지에 대한 아이디어도 제공했다.

Development and Case Review of IT Convergence GoGo Bumper Car Project (IT융합 기반의 고고범퍼카 콘텐츠 개발 및 프로젝트 적용 사례)

  • This paper aims at developing IT convergence robot education contents using open hardware-based GoGo Board and presenting three cases that were applied into educational settings with elementary and middle school students. Several types of data for their activities were collected: photos, work output, survey data, video data and interview with robot teacher and students. Each student experienced building up a GoGo Bumper Car with touch sensors attached at front and back sides and figuring out the principle of digital board control and operating of electronic devices by sensing. The participants, in the following phases, conducted domino chain-reaction with GoGo Bumper Cars and acquiring GoGo Driving Licence by driving test on three different road maps. Students in a gifted education program creatively implemented their own ideas as part of robotic art. The result of case analysis showed that the proposed project provides students not only intimacy for technology, fun, concentration but her own empowerment for developing ideas and creative implementation.

A case study of Digital humanities lecture on Marcel Proust's À La Recherche du temps perdu (마르셀 프루스트의 『잃어버린 시간을 찾아서』에 대한 디지털인문학적 강의 운영 사례 연구)

  • In 2021, the 150th anniversary of Proust's birth, and in 2022, the 100th anniversary of his death, the interest in À la recherche du temps perdu increased. We took advantage of a digital humanities approach to make these seven novels known as difficult easily accessible to French literature major korean students. We let the students analyze using the analyzing tools for the big data and find some clues to understand the works through the visualized data. We picked out the main characters and places that appear in his works with Wordcloud, and checked the awareness of Proust in domestic and foreign through the various sites to analyze the big data, such as Big Kinds and Textom. Through the methodology of digital humanities, the students commented that they have gradually enlarged their understanding breadth for Proust's 『In Search of Lost Time』 rather than giving up it as difficult. This study confirmed that applying the big data analysis and digital humanities is an appropriate teaching method in finding ways for the students to broaden the understanding of French literature.

Evaluation of Computational Thinking through Code Analysis of Elementary School Students' Scratch Projects (초등학생의 스크래치 프로젝트 코드 분석을 통한 컴퓨팅 사고력 평가)

  • In order to improve computational thinking, elementary schools have been using 'Scratch' to provide basic programming education. However, the study on evaluation of computational thinking is at an early stage. Therefore, this study evaluated the conceptual level of computational thinking using the scratch code analyzing. For this, Dr. Scratch was used to analyze 179 scratch projects. The results showed that the conceptual level of computational thinking of most elementary students was at the developing level, and that it varied according to gender and production style, showed the lowest level of logic and abstraction, and improved computational thinking during programming. This study is meaningful in that it provides implications for the improvement of teaching methods and self-directed evaluation in learning.

A Investigation and Analysis List of Required Reading for China's Elementary School Students (중국의 초등학생 필독목록 조사 분석)

  • This study was conducted to review the reading education and the required reading list for elementary school students which is being executed as part of China's language education. For this purpose, extracurricular reading list of language curriculum standard enacted in 2011 was investigated and required list for elementary school students recommend by China's Ministry of Education education in 2012 and 2015. Furthermore, the comparative analysis of extra curricular reading list and two types of required reading list recommended by the Ministry of Education. As a result of investigation on two types of lists of required reading, it was found out that there are lots of fairy tales and science book types by genre, lots of British book by nation, and as a result of comparison with extra curricular reading list, it was found out that there is higher rate of reflection of oversease books and Chinse authorsd, and that there were higher rate of reflection of contemporary literary works and science. Based on these findings, studies on Chinese authors, Chinese fairy tales, and contemporary literary works and studies and recommendations on various subjects were suggested.

  • This paper proposes a methodology of expanding the mind in multi-disciplinary ways through STEAM education program based on science and art. The paper aims at analyzing both the analog- an digital-based emotional expressions experienced by students. Students use digital visualization technology using linguistic tool as well as sense of vision, hearing and touching. This is a STEAM education program designed for high school students and called "Kandinsky, Drawing the Sound". Kandinsky was a prominent proponent of synesthesia and through his artwork, students can learn how to express and develop synesthetic senses. Through this STEAM program, students are empowered to express diverse emotions reconstructed through plays, stories and synesthesia.
