The purposes of this study were to explore in depth about 5th graders' mathematical speaking and writing abilities and to investigate differences on those abilities. The study involved three-5th graders and their speaking and writing abilities in geometry area were analyzed. According to the results of the study. the children had difficulties in selecting and using appropriate mathematical languages to explain mathematical concepts, mathematical ideas, and problem solving steps. The children who participated in the study showed higher ability in speaking than writing.

This study is the design and implementation of digital textbooks for elementary school computer education based on smart phone. It suggests how to cultivate self-directed learning ability depending on the level and selection of individuals by maximizing on interaction as advantage of digital textbooks. As the content of the digital textbooks, this study used Excel's charting capabilities. As a result of the evaluation of elementary learners having a implemented digital textbook, execution time of creating a chart is reduced in comparison with paper-based textbook user group.

In this paper, an objective of this research is to add convenience to the intranet operating within an educational institution, by setting up a messenger function to enable the faculties and teachers to make better use of the university database via Intranet. With this messenger services, the users can view the information about the members in a group they belong to, and register as friends a group of members they selected from the work group they are in. This function will reduce the cumbersome chores of adding one individual as a friend at a time. This research will enhance the Intranet within an educational institution by integrating new functions. Speciallly, In this paper, it is stored student data by the input form by the JDBC of XML standard data. Also, it is able to search of stored database to web sever from web client by the SQL quary.

The purpose of this work is to analyze various mathematics programs and related studies for gifted students of secondary school, to extract meaningful suggestions, and to develop some mathematics materials to realize our suggestions. We analyzed mathematics curriculum drafts for gifted students(by KEDI), mathematics program for the gifted students of Russia, and mathematics programs of some specialist of gifted education. We were able to extract some important aspects for developing teaching & teaming materials. Especially in this study we took notice of systematization of mathematical problems, and suggested a model of systematization of mathematical problems.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the existing studies about the effect on private tutoring and EBS broadcasting which is considered as the alternative which was presented by education authorities. And this study attempts to measure the degree of the effects of private tutoring and EBS engagement on mathematics achievement using various quantitative methodologies. T-test and OLS multiple regression indicates some selection-bias which has positive direction compared to the PSM method closed to experimental design. So, it will be required to consider the methodology which measures the exact effect of institution or participation when we conduct the observational studies.

An aim of this study is to analyze status of information literacy and propose some ways strengthening its role as a cross-curriculum. Analyses show that information literacy is a basic competency of creative person composing the educational human figure under the national curriculum in Korea. In the school knowledge, its position is a procedural knowledge to create new ideas, also it is a interdisciplinary thinking skill under the instructional method. Therefore, information literacy instruction covering media and ICT literacy should exist as a main cross-curriculum to be a selective subject in the national curriculum. And finally, one of learning skills, its definition should be cleary stated such as information research and access, information analyses and interpretation, information synthesize and presentation.

This paper analysed a bulk of theses performed in various perspectives relating to College Scholastic Ability Test since 1994. Further this searched suggestions of revisions of systems about College Scholastic Ability Test along with the revised curriculum throngh this analysis of previous studies, which were categorized into 'correspondence between goal and characteristics', 'impact on education', and 'impact on society'. According to previous studies, they treat crossing application, advantage & disadvantage among optional subjects, difference in subject and content between natural science and cultural science, subjects that have to be included into College Scholastic Ability Test. This research suggests some elements and basic & fundamental information which need to be considered in the process of revising in problem making system of College Scholastic Ability Test.

This study measures the various moving velocities of elementary school children under situation of fire drill and suggests the methods of analysis. The velocities are such as the exiting velocity at the door of the classroom, personal walking velocity at corridor, velocity according to density of crowd and personal walking velocity at stairway. For these measurement an elementary school in Daejeon is chosen and 15 girls and 15 boys are selected in each grade. Finally speed data of the children is obtained and we can apply this data for the evacuation simulation of a school.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the STS program on vocational high school students' science-related attitudes. In order to examine, we selected the content of instructions at the Earth Science content in the "Common Science" and applied the STS program for one year to the second grade students of six classes (N = 318) in a girls high school located in Kumi City, Kyungpook, Korea. For this study, we developed the instructional methods and then applied to the STS program. The result of this study revealed that the STS program on students' science achievement and attitudes were effective.

5 years are passed since the 7th National Curriculum of Education began. The curriculum didn't get successful outcomes, rather brought about several problems. Especially, the computer curriculum didn't effectively deal with fast developing computer technology. In present, the general and overall problems of middle school computer education suggested in many previous researches. After we investigate general computer education problems which computer teachers and students are felt, we must try to reflect the results in computer education policy. In this paper, on the basis of general computer education problems suggested by previous researches, we absolutely analyzed the teacher's and student's question results about correct situation of middle school, and suggested improvement methods of middle school computer education.
