This thesis has a research focus in effectively Practicing cooperative instruction where teacher-librarians play a role. The cooperative Instruction means to practice cooperatively with the subject teachers and teacher-librarians, in teaching subject matters(Korean, English, Social studies. Science, History, and so forth), using the school library. This thesis presents three steps by theory-model-support for a practice method through developing a cooperative instruction model. This is based on curriculum which is an axis of school education and an instructional design theory which is a base theory for subject matters.

도서관에 대한 올바른 이용과 이해는 초등학교에서부터 출발해야 한다. 도서관 이용 교육은 국가 수준의 교육과정에서 인정받는 것이 중요할 뿐만 아니라 정규 교과서에 반영하여 교과 수업 시간에 지도할 수 있도록 하여야 한다. 일본은 문부과학성에서 고시한 ‘학습지도요령’에 의거 국어 교과서에 다각적인 도서관 이용 교육을 실시하고 있다. 본 연구는 일본의 소학교 국어 교과서에 반영된 도서관 이용 교육을 분석하여 앞으로 우리 나라 초등학교 국어 교과서 개발에 참고 자료가 되고자 한다.

도서관학에서 교과과정과 교수법을 분리해서 생각할 수 는 없다. 특히 교수법의 중요성은 누구나 공감하고 있으나 지금까지 도서관학은 자체에 알맞은 교수법이 개발되지 못한채, 전통적인 교수법을 답습해오던가 아니면 법률학, 경제학 등 다른 학문분야의 교수법을 그대로 도입해왔기 때문에, 도서관학교수법이 한계를 벗어나지 못하였던 것이다. 그리고 도서관학교수법에 관한 문헌도 좀처럼 보기드물며, 설상 있다고 하여도 대부분이 그 이론을 체계화시키지 못하고 도서관학교육운영상의 절차와 기술만을 다루고 도서관학에 적합한 교수법을 다루지 않은 것이 그 특징이라 할 수 있다. 이 책은 Josefa E. Sabor 교수가 저술한 ${method}^s$ of Teaching librarianship (Paris: Unesco, 1969)에 수록되어 있는 Curriculum을 번역한 것이다. 1976년 8월 Lausanne에서 개최된 IFLA, 총회에서 도서관학교분과위원회(Section of Library Schools)가 “도서관학교의 기준, 1976”(Standards for Library School, 1976, IFLA Journal vol.2, No.4, 1976, pp.209-223)의 “Curriculum" 조항(p.220)에서 이 책을 권장한 것만 보더라도, 이 책은 종전의 도서관학교수법을 탈피해서 실제로 도서관학에 적합한 교수법을 시사한 것이라고 볼 수 있다.

This study suggests the application of library assisted instruction(LAI) by analyzing Japanese social studies text-books that are configured for the library assisted instruction and cooperative instruction. The results of the analysis found that the use of a variety of materials and curriculum integrated skills instruction is reflected in the social studies text-books in Japan. Based on the results, this study suggested the strategies of the application of library assisted instruction(LAI) in three separated proposals. revision of related laws, organizational joint between teacher librarian and subject teachers, textbooks development for Information literacy instruction.

The aim of this study is to survey the process in which the curriculum standards of 'library and information life' are implemented as textbooks and to find implications for improving of textbook publication. In the development process of accredited textbooks, it is essential for the curriculum standards and textbooks to align, both in form and content. 『Library and Information Life』(2011) are recognized textbooks systematically developed based on curriculum standards. To this end, the level of response to the numbers of 'topic' in the curriculum standard and the numbers of 'midle unit' in the textbook was identified. As a result, elementary and middle school textbooks exhibited a "one-to-many" response level, where one topic spanned approximately around two middle units, while high school textbook tended to have a "many-to-one" response level, converging two topics into one middle unit. In the case of elementary schools, the curriculum standard follows a single content-system, whereas textbooks are developed separately for lower and higher-grade levels. Therefore, some adjustments, such as curriculum content and subject titles, need to be considered for each elementary school level.

이 연구는 현재 문헌정보학 교과과정이 학교도서관 현장에서 요구하는 능력을 갖추는데 적합한가 라는 질문에서 시작하였다. 이 문제에 접근하기 위하여, 먼저 문헌정보학 교과과정에 대한 만족도와 현장 요구 반영도를 조사하였다. 이어, 실제 현장에서 요구하는 지식(Knowledge), 기술(Skill), 태도(Attitude)가 무엇인지를 살펴보았다. 마지막으로, 이러한 현장의 요구를 바탕으로 사서교사를 양성하는데 적합한 교과과정을 제안하였다.

This study is about special programs for elementary school library media centers in Texas in the United States, that can be used as a way of activating the school library media center programs. Various special programs of the seven elementary school library media centers in Texas were selected for case studies and the types, purposes. frameworks, effects of the programs and the subjects were analyzed. Special programs were provided for exhibits and displays, featured speakers or entertainers, learning centers, demonstrations, and media in conjunction with book fair and curriculum. And the purposes of the programs were to support and enhance the curriculum. to provide personal enrichment and to provide professional development for teachers. The frameworks for the program were the special target group, curriculum needs, special theme. interest and entertainment within available time periods. The benefits of the programs were the highlights of the media center and the media specialist, increasing of the school library media center usage. classroom support and enrichment, broadening students' and teachers' interests. encouragement of the development of lifelong learners and the establishment of the good public relations. Therefore, we have to consider the development of the special programs as a method of activating the school library in Korea and it should be brought with the concern and support from the principals, teachers, parents, and community members.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the principles of school library media center program and to finds out present level and future outlook of the program implementation in primary and middle school. The fundamental objective of school is learning and school library functions as a link to support this objective. Therefore quality of education must always be linked to the library media programs. A questionaire which consists of 13 questions covering school library media center operation was designed to final out how learning-teaching media program is being practiced in Korea. Based on this study, it is concluded that there is significant difference between present practice level and desired future-oriented practice. It is hoped that this study will help planners in formulating school library policy to achieve educational goal of the school.
