Development of an Electronic Starting Controller for Starting Motor of Packaged Power Systems (이동식발전설비의 기동전동기용 전자식 시동 제어장치 개발)

  • The core technology of a starting device in the packaged power system is the pinion gear shifting device and to limit the initial starting voltage. Although the conventional products have been used the starting controller using mechanical contactor, these have a big problem such as the uncertainty for the start of starting motor after a pinion gear is completely shifted or the arc demage due to high current. In this study, in order to solve these problems, we designed and fabricated a new product to achieve the safety and reliability as follows: the pinion gear-shifting control circuits to eliminate the uncertainty of the start, the starting control system using semiconductor device to prevent the arc demage of contactor caused by high current, a start safety devices for soft starting of series motor. In addition, we obtained the electrical safety by separating the pinion gear control circuit and the source circuit of motor.

  • 자동차의 시동을 걸기 위해서는 맨 처음 엔진을 강제로 가동시키는 기계장치가 있어야 하며, 이를 시동모터라 한다. 시동모터는 모터부와 그 부속장치 그리고 발생된 힘을 엔진으로 전달하는 동력전달 기구로 구성되어 있다. 동력전달기구는 플라이 휠이라는 부품을 크랭크 축 끝단에 장착한 후 그 원주상에 링 기어를 만들고, 시동모터의 축에 피니언이라는 작은 기어를 맞물리게 하여 시동 키를 돌리면 이 기어가 회전되는 원리를 이용하고 있다. 피니언 기어는 작고 반대로 플라이 휠에 장착되어 있는 링 기어는 크기 때문에 일정한 기어비가 형성되어 큰 부하의 엔진회전이 가능하다.(중략)

Contact Surface Fatigue Life for RPG System (RPG 시스템의 접촉 피로수명)

  • A roller pinion gear (RPG) system composed of either a pin or a roller and its conjugated cam gear can improve the gear endurance from that of a conventional gear system by reducing the sliding contact while increasing the rolling motion. In this paper, we first proposed the exact cam gear profile and the self-intersection condition obtained when the profile shift coefficient is introduced. Then, we investigated the Hertzian contact stresses and the load stress factors while the varying the shape design parameters to predict the gear surface fatigue life, which is strongly related to the gear noise and vibration at the contact patch. The results show that the pitting life can be extended significantly by increasing the profile shift coefficient.

Vibration Analysis of a Cooling Fan Gear Reducer of the Secondary Cooling Tower in HANARO (하나로 2차 냉각탑의 냉각팬 감속기의 진동분석)

  • HANARO is an open-tank-in-pool-type Korean research reactor that generates 30MW of thermal power. It differs from power plant reactor in that the heat generated by HANARO is exhausted into the atmosphere through a secondary cooling tower, thus maintaining the core temperature constant. During every monthly inspection of the cooling tower, large vibrations that exceeded the permissible limit were observed at cooling fan gear reducer No. 4 of the cooling tower. The purpose of this study is to identify the origin of the large vibration and to repair it. FFT spectrum analysis is performed to identify the part that caused the large vibration. The results of the frequency analysis showed that the vibration frequency was 354 Hz, which is twice the natural frequency of the pinion gear. A check of the pinion gear revealed that there was a crack on the surface of the pinion gear. After the gear was replaced, the reducer operated normally.

Durability Analysis due to Design Shape of Pinion Gear (자동차용 피니언 기어의 설계 형상에 따른 내구성 해석)

  • The structural analyses were conducted with three models of pinion gears connected to the rack gear which is driven by the steering axle at an automobile. Three models 1, 2 and 3 are designed as the different pinion gears due to the vehicle type. The lower the value of maximum stress, the better the durability of model. Model 3 has the best durability among three models. Models 1 and 2 are expected to require the adjustment in order to improve the durability better. By the utilization of this study result, it is thought to apply at designing the pinion gear with durability at the automobile.

  • Pinions are generally heavy and integrated with a shaft. Thus, fabricating a pinion is a material- and machining-intensive task characterized by low productivity. Contact of the output pinion with a sliding surface or a cloud contact causes loss of power because of friction. Consequently, the output pinion undergoes considerable wear and tear at its ends, which adversely affects the overall transmission efficiency of decelerators. To improve transmission efficiency and extend gear life, an optimum output pinion design is required. To this end, in this study, an output pinion for worm gear decelerators was designed and optimized by means of product verification through prototyping and performance evaluation to improve gear life and productivity. The optimized design was validated and subjected to structural analysis.

  • 본 연구는 기존의 자전거에 전기 구동장치를 장착시켜서 자전거의 페달링에 의하여 검출된 답력을 이용한 보조 동력 구동장치에 대한 개발이다. 답력의 검출은 불시의치차를 이용한 동력 전달장치를 이용하였다. 이 장치의 입력기어에서 출력기어로 동력을 전달하는 아이들 피니언 기어와 결합된 캐리어를 동력 전달시 발생하는 반력에 의한 각도를 이용하여 토크량을 측정하였다. 동력전달을 할 경우 발생하는 반력에 의한 회전각을 자기센서를 이용하여 답력을 측정하였다. 이 답력을 구동회로에 인가하여 보조동력을 자전거에 인가함에 따라 주행을 쾌적하게 하도록 개발하였으며 실험을 통하여 실용성을 고찰하였다.

A Study on Optimum Tooth Profile of Pin-Pinion Gear for Linear Motion (직선이송용 Pin-Pinion Gear의 최적 치형에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, designing of precise linear transferring device which can be applied to industrial machine and robot industry has been introduced. The direction of power flow and output feature are similar to current Rack-Pinion type. However, unlimited length extensity via rack modulizing, and securing high velocity transportation have been realized by applying Pin-Pinion Gear type at the operation part. The analysis has been calculated to obtain the Pin-Pinion Gear's optimized tooth profile. As a result of research, it is impossible to control precisely even overlap at the teeth of involute and sprocket. Because they have peculiar gearing structure. Therefore, modified cycloid tooth has been proposed to perform high velocity, precise control without backlash.

  • 오스템퍼링 한 저합금구상흑연주철 은 일반의 구상흑연주철의 기지조직을 베이나이트로 함으로써 치수변화가 적고, 균열의 위험성이 없으며 또한 강도 및 인성이 좋은 특성을 지니고 있기 때문에 강에 필적할 만한 성질을 가진다는 것은 잘 알려져 있지만 주철은 주조한 그대로 사용한다는 개념이 강하여 지금까지 거의 공업적으로 이용되지 않았다. 그런데 최근 이 주철이 고응력을 받는 기계부붐에 적용되어 중형 및 대형의 gear wheel에 퍼얼라이트와 조질된 구상흑연주철 및 강을 대체하게되어 미국, 핀란드 및 영국 등에서는 자동차 후차축의 링 기어, 피니언 기어 및 크랭크축에 이르기까지 사용되기 시작하였고, 그 결과가 경제적으로도 은강품보다 오히려 유리하다고 보고되어 오늘날 자동차공업 부문에서도 맣은 주목을 모으고 있다.
