  • This paper is a study on the activation of Factory Saemaul QC circle activities contributing much to the management of enterprises. One hundred seventy leaders of QC circles were served as subjects. The factors to activate QC circle activity have been obtained in terms of multivariate analysis. It was observed from the result of the diagnosis that the independency, the relationship of the office-organization and the ability of the achievement-expression are the general problems of Korean enterprises.

품질분임조 활동 및 성과에 관한 인과모형 연구 (A Study on the Causal Model between QCC Activities and Performance)

  • This paper has the purpose to find out the causal model between QCC activities and performance. This study consists of four hypotheses. First, QCC teamwork has positive influence on QCC performance. Second, QCC atmosphere has positive influence on QCC performance. Third, QCC autonomy has positive influence on QCC performance. Fourth, this causal model is appropriate for representing the relationship between QCC activities and performance. The results of hypothesis testing are as follows. The first and the fourth hypotheses are adopted. The second and the third hypotheses are rejected. Therefore, QCC teamwork will accelerate QCC activities more than atmosphere and autonomy of QCC.

  • 지퍼제조는 중소기업형 산업의 하나이다. 고난도의 정밀 공정이 요구되는 제조이다. 따라서 지퍼의 제조에는 엄격한 품질관리가 요구된다. 나아가서는 고객에게 품질에 대한 확고한 확신을 주고 시장 개척을 위해 품질보증이 요구된다. 지퍼의 품질보증을 제대로 하려면 고난도의 정밀한 공정을 정확하게 관리하기 위한 제반의 품질관리 기법들을 종합적으로 활용함은 물론 체계적인 전사적 품질관리(Total Quality Control)가 필요하다. 또한 효과적인 전사적인 품질관리를 시행하기 위해서는 근로자의 교육이 필요하며 한국 지퍼 총생산량의 30%를 생산하는 Y 지퍼사는 전사적인 품질관리 교육은 물론 품질분임조(Quality Circle)등을 활용하여 지퍼의 품질관리 및 품질보증에 성공했다.

  • This paper is to present the problem of QC technique usage and improvement alternative in the QC circle. First, in the selection theme, it must have easy relations of tangible/intangible effects through simple theme's title. And contents development most be consistency in tangible/intangible effects. Second, in the usage of QC technique, it is necessary to strengthen QC circle activity through QC circle education. So in the aspects of long-term period. Internal instruction is strengthened and, in the aspects of short-term period, internal evaluation is established.

  • In this paper, we surveyed the literature on QCC(quality control circle) and try to establish principles of activation of QCC activities in Korea. Although QCC activities in Korea, which originated from Japan, have so far made tremendous contributions to our domestic industry, many problems have also been found during the course of a, pp.ication to our industry. In this paper, we have paid much attention to the solution of the problems found during the initial stages and the a, pp.eciation of the achievements of QCC activities until now. We also suggest principles residing in the activities and propose the right direction of our QCC movement. We have made use of many known facts in our analysis and present some of them as evidences of our arguments.

효과적인 품질분임조활동의 단계별 진행요령에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Step-by-Step Process for Effective Quality Circle Activities)

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose the effective guidance of Quality Circle(QC) activities. Since 1975, variety of organizations in Korea have widely implemented QC activities for their management systems. The industries have enthusiastically used QC activities and were influenced from them. However, the academics were less interested in this subject, as a result, there were no systematic guidances for QC activities. Thus, in this paper, the effective guidance for QC activities were suggested which were based on the survey from QC proceedings presented in the companies, in the local areas and the national wide contests. As a result, the first main issue is to pick repeated mistakes up during the process period such as unmatched the causes and effects relations in characteristics diagrams, improper selection of important control items in Pareto diagram and so on. Secondly, how to overcome statistics and use them for QC activities. Thirdly, to remind team members about Quality Control 7 tools. Finally, Minitab(Release-13) software has been found that it is not matched with using Korean Standards(KS).

  • The aim of this study lies in seeking the desirable countermeasure for the QC Circle Activities in Stagnation, through the componative study of QC Circle Activities in the companies of the two nations Korea and Japan. This study will be treated in the various aspects, for example, the motives of the initation of QC Circle, aim of the activities, themes of QC meeting, meeting time, the extent of support of superior of staff, over times payment, the cause of mactivity, etc. And according to the data and experience, the reasonable way of QC Circle Activities will be suggested.

  • In order to maximize the effect of TQM in the Korean industry, quality circle activity as a bottom­up management should be expanded and revitalized. Quality circle activity can be regarded as a kind of knowledge activity where new knowledge is created and knowledge is shared in the economy. This paper proposes new metrics of intangible effect as knowledge assessment focusing on the intellectual capital aspect of quality circle activity, that may be useful for revitalizing quality circle activity from viewpoints not only of financial effect but also of intellectual capital aspect. New metrics of intangible effect consist of two factors: the intellectual capital effect and the intellectual maturity effect. In order to test the validity of new metrics, a case study of 11 companies was done. The result of the case study is that two factors as an intangible effect of quality circle activity should be evaluated to identify the total effect of quality circle activity correctly.

  • Quality circle activities as an important part of TQM have greatly contributed to the development of Japanese industry. Recently, however, there are severe criticisms about quality circle activities in Japan. Quality circle activities must be reformed in accordance with new world-wide industrial circumstances. In this respect, several Japanese companies are trying to change the method for implementing their circle activities. In this case study, I have investigated one of these movements which occurs in several Japanese companies. It allows us to gain an insight into the way we might go here in Korea.
