  • 본고는 현존하는 암석과 암반의 풍화분류방법에 대한 고찰 및 이러한 방법들을 실제로 우리나라의 토목현장에 적용할 경우 발생되는 여러 가지 문제점을 서술하고, 이에 따른 문제점 극복을 위해 우리나라의 여건에 맞도록 암석 및 암반의 풍화상태를 조사 기술하므로서 각종 토목공사에서 보다 유용하게 사용할 수 있는 풍화분류방법을 제시한다.

Road Construction Cost Estimation Model in the Planning Phase Using Artificial Neural Network (인공신경망을 적용한 기획단계의 도로건설 공사비 예측 모델)

  • Construction cost estimation in planning phase which calculates the cost for performing construction tasks is used for various ways. Meanwhile, in the case of road construction, the existing cost estimating method in early phase based on numerical mean value of the past is not accurate to be used. This paper propose neural network model for estimating road construction cost in planning phase to solve the limit of current cost estimating method. The model was designed using past road construction bidding records, and variables of model were optimized through trial and error. The estimation result of the model was compared with regression analysis and government's standard and it was verified that the model is better in accuracy. It is expected that the proposed model will be used for road cost estimation in planning phase.

Analysis of Road Construction Projects' Escalation under Historical Data-Based Estimate System in Jeju (실적공사비가 적용된 제주도 도로공사의 물가변동률 영향 분석)

  • This study has conducted case studies in order to suggest alternatives to the historical data-based estimate system. Price fluctuation calculation methods based on historial cost indexes, standard estimate and construction cost indexes were applied to 9 road construction sites in Jeju for an analysis. As a result, in 5 construction sites (about 56% of 9 sites), the index control rate calculated based upon historical data-based estimate system was higher than that calculated based upon standard estimate and construction cost indexes. Thus the establishment of the requirements for the adjustment of contract price due to price fluctuation delays, which leads to a significant difference in price fluctuation amount. And, in an analysis of construction cost indexes, the indexes for road construction were used for calculating index control rate which ranges from 2.0 to 9.4 percent, indicating the time of construction amount and price fluctuation application has a significant influence on index control rate.

  • In the country, supervision cost is being estimated by percentages of construction cost or cost plus a fixed fee without a reasonable standard. This type has no function for adjusting supervision cost according to variables, such as construction work complexity, extent of supervisory services, fluctuations in prices. In this study, an objective criterion to estimate supervision cost with improved supervisory services has been developed, in which adjusting functions as stated above should be properly considered. A comparative study of supervisory service systems in foreign countries and a survey through questionnaire were carried out for the study. An objective criterion from the results is proposed in the form of an expression or table.

  • Inspection system which was performed in the past selected the final winning bidder by separating Pre-Qualification, the basic design evaluation and price evaluation. However, turnkey and alternative bidding construction has selected way to determine the successful bidder as the best design and the most low cost method, comprehensive evaluation method (bid price adjustment, design score adjustments, weights standard), the best design and the fixed amount method from january 1, 2010 to the present. Due to these institutional problems, orders institutions were often a way to determine the successful bidder to apply differently for identical or similar construction. Therefore this study winning bidder selection criteria through analysis of construction the number and construction order performance, order performance by work division and institutional orders, the weights bidder order performance and orders status of turnkey alternative tendering construction to civil part performed in domestic.

The Current Status and Facilitation Strategy of BIM for Civil Infrastructure Projects (토목공사의 BIM 현황 및 활성화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to provide baseline on the current status and the activation of BIM in civil engineering which can integrate and manage the information and tasks generated during the life cycle. Hierarchical analysis was conducted to identify the level of BIM application, recognition survey for practitioners, and activation plans. The survey results show similar trends in BIM activation inhibition factor, the need for BIM, the effect of BIM and the future possibility of BIM. The utilization of BIM and the technical training in the civil engineering field were lower than those in the architectural field. The analysis of AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is performed to identify the degree of importance in financial, operational, investment, technical, and institutional sections as its activating factors. As a result, the technical factor points the highest degree. Thus, study shows the direction to apply BIM in civil engineering in the future by suggesting an efficient plan.

Effective Analysis Framework for Construction Post Evaluation (건설공사 사후평가 수행결과의 효과적인 분석방법)

  • A construction post evaluation is introduced to provide information that can be used for similar construction projects in the future through the evaluation of the efficiency of a public construction project and the verification of the appropriateness of the project results. However, it is not widely used due to a lack of awareness of the method. For this reason, the aim of this study is to provide a basic frame that can be utilized as a reference for a similar project in the future based on the construction post evaluation. More specifically, a more effective analysis method for the construction post evaluation is proposed and then an exemplary analysis is performed based on the method. The paper analyzes 293 cases stored in construction CALS. Construction cost growth rates of railway projects are tend to be greater than other project types like highway, expressway, and harbour. Then, construction schedule grwoth rates of expressway are greater than others. This is expected to provide useful information for a future project, and serve as a basic frame. Moreover, it is also meaningful that a project can be analyzed from different perspectives through the construction post evaluation.

Construction Cost Estimate Modeling of Roundabout at Preliminary Design Stage in Jeju (제주도 내 회전교차로의 초기공사비 예측모델 개발)

  • Recently, there are many roundabouts installation works which are ordered to provide convenient transportation to road users as well as to eliminate traffic accidents and traffic delays. This study propose an approximate construction cost estimation model for early stages of roundabout construction. The model is designed considering the conditions of the early stage roundabout construction sites in Jeju. The regression equation of approximate construction cost was derived through regression analysis of 25 design data of roundabout construction in Jeju, and it was analyzed to have a high prediction accuracy. Finally, results verifies high prediction accuracy of the derived regression equation. Difference between the estimation cost and the design cost was only 2.3%, 3.7%, and 5.8% that verifies the high accuracy of the proposed approximate construction cost estimation model.

Development of Construction Benchmarking for Oversea Industrial Projects (해외플랜트 공사 벤치마킹 프로그램 개발)

  • The oversea construction contract amount has sharply increased since 2003. The contractor's capability for EPC and project management is a key factor for a successful industrial construction project. Construction performance measurement and evaluation is needed to improve contractor's project management capability. Therefore, this paper proposes the construction performance benchmarking program for oversea industrial projects. Performance metrics consists of project cost, schedule, quality, and safety. Data from 10 oversea industrial projects were collected and analyzed. Also, this paper describes the process for development of the benchmarking program and lessons learned from industry are summarized. Finally, this paper recommends how sustainable benchmarking program should be established and implemented.

Estimation of Cycle Time for Construction Process of NATM Tunnel by using RFID Technology (RFID기술을 이용한 NATM터널 작업 프로세스의 사이클타임 산정방안 연구)

  • Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technology, which replace BAR CODE technology that has been widely utilizing in the field of the manufacturing industry for a long time, has been proven in the whole industries including national defense, transportation, and construction as well as manufacturing industry. Recently, with this trend, researches for adapting the RFID technology have been attempting continually centering on the architectural project in the construction industry. However, those researches are mainly focusing on the experimental utilization such as simple activity and material management. To solve these issues, this study demonstrated methodologies for adapting the RFID technology by the construction steps aiming to analyze cycle time of five types of construction process to the NATM method of tunneling work. Besides, the application of RFID technology in civil engineering work was verified by demonstrating the suggested methodology to actual sites. Therefore, it is expected that the suggested methodology will be utilized for predicting the progress rate and establishing of follow-up work plans, and the site applicability of the RFID technology will be expanded to the civil engineering projects.
