A Study on Performance Diagnostic of Smart UAV Gas Turbine Engine using Neural Network (신경회로망을 이용한 스마트 무인기용 가스터빈 엔진의 성능진단에 관한 연구)

  • An intelligent performance diagnostic program using the Neural Network was proposed for PW206C turboshaft engine. It was selected as a power plant for the tilt rotor type Smart UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) which is being developed by KARI (Korea Aerospace Research Institute). For teeming the NN(Neural Network), a BPN(Back Propagation Network) with one hidden, one input and one output layer was used. The input layer has seven neurons: variations of measurement parameters such as SHP, MF, P2, T2, P4, T4 and T5, and the output layer uses 6 neurons: degradation ratios of flow capacities and efficiencies for compressor, compressor turbine and power turbine, respectively, Database for network teaming and test was constructed using a gas turbine performance simulation program. From application of the learned networks to diagnostics of the PW206C turboshaft engine, it was confirmed that the proposed diagnostics algorithm could detect well the single fault types such as compressor fouling and compressor turbine erosion.

  • 본 논문에서는 차세대 유무선 광대역 통합망에서 실시간 멀티미디어의 응용 계층 품질을 평가하기 위한 실시간 음성 전송 플랫폼 라이브러리를 개발하였다. 개발된 라이브러리는 실시간 음성 통신시 사용자가 요구할 수 있는 다양한 품질을 제공하기 위해 전송률과 압축 방식에 따른 음성 코덱들을 포함하고 있다. 본 라이브러리는 다양한 환경에도 동일 입출력, 다중스레드, 인터넷 통신 등이 가능한 PWLIB를 기반으로 한다. 음성 데이터는 RTP/UDP/IP를 이용하여 패킷화되고 RTCP를 이용하여 전송 품질이 모니터링된다. 개발된 음성 통신 라이브러리를 이용하여 간단한 음성 통신 시스템을 구현하였으며, 음성 코덱별로 네트워크 상에서 송수신 테스트를 진행하였다. 본 라이브러리는 비디오 코덱 및 시그널링 및 네트웍 자원 예약 프로토콜과 결합되어 멀티미디어 통신 단말 개발에 사용 될 수 있다.

Reserch On The Fundamental Technology To Utilization Of Platform To Providing Mobile Underground Geospatial Infomation Map (모바일용 지하공간통합지도 제공 플랫폼 활용을 위한 기반 기술 연구)

  • In the midst of the aging of underground facilities in urban areas and anxiety about road excavation safety accidents, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport began to build Underground Geospatial Infomation Map from 2015 as part of the 「ground subsidence prevention measures」 and efficient use of underground spaces. So, the scope is spreading every year. The current Underground Geospatial Infomation Map information is web-based and is operated in a desktop environment, so it is true that there are some limitations in its use in a field environment such as an excavation construction site. The Underground Geospatial Infomation Map, built and operated in a web-based environment, is a large-scale 3D data. Therefore, in order to service by transmitting data to the field without delay, it is necessary to lighten the Underground Geospatial Infomation Map data. In addition, the current Underground Geospatial Infomation Map is not unified in data formats such as 3DS and COLLADA, and the coordinate system method is also different in relative coordinates and absolute coordinates. In this study, by analyzing domestic and overseas prior research and technical use cases, a mobile Underground Geospatial Infomation Map data format and a lightweight method were presented, and a technology development was conducted to create a mobile underground space integration map in the presented format. In addition, the weight reduction rate was tested by applying 3D data compression technology so that data can be transmitted quickly in the field, and technology was developed that can be used by decompressing 3D data compressed in the field. finally, it aims to supplement the technology experimentally developed in this study and conduct additional research to produce it as software that can be used in the excavation site and use it.

  • In this paper, we describe an implementation of real-time face recognition system under ubiquitous computing environments. First, face image is captured by PDA with CMOS camera and then this image with user n and name is transmitted via WLAN(Wireless LAN) to the server and finally PDA receives verification result from the server The proposed system consists of server and client parts. Server uses PCA and LDA algorithm which calculates eigenvector and eigenvalue matrices using the face images from the PDA at enrollment process. And then, it sends recognition result using Euclidean distance at verification process. Here, captured image is first compressed by the wave- let transform and sent as JPG format for real-time processing. Implemented system makes an improvement of the speed and performance by comparing Euclidean distance with previously calculated eigenvector and eignevalue matrices in the learning process.

  • Attempts to predict future stock prices have been studied steadily since the past. However, unlike general time-series data, financial time-series data has various obstacles to making predictions such as non-stationarity, long-term dependence, and non-linearity. In addition, variables of a wide range of data have limitations in the selection by humans, and the model should be able to automatically extract variables well. In this paper, we propose a 'sliding time step normalization' method that can normalize non-stationary data and LSTM autoencoder to compress variables from all variables. and 'moving transfer learning', which divides periods and performs transfer learning. In addition, the experiment shows that the performance is superior when using as many variables as possible through the neural network rather than using only 100 major financial variables and by using 'sliding time step normalization' to normalize the non-stationarity of data in all sections, it is shown to be effective in improving performance. 'moving transfer learning' shows that it is effective in improving the performance in long test intervals by evaluating the performance of the model and performing transfer learning in the test interval for each step.

  • This paper suggests a way to implement a system that broadcasts compressed JPEG images obtained from a webcam to multiple users on their smartphones. The system was implemented to maintain a suitable image quality so that things are identifiable while using the minimal amount of data, in order to deliver as many frames as possible to as many users as possible. Also, the suggested way was applied and various tests were done, including on: the performance of the server that provides image information; the performance of the client that receives the image information and displays it on the smartphone; and the max. number of simultaneous users supported by the system. When a broadcasting system is implemented using webcams and smartphones, the results of this paper can be used in estimating the suitable system parameters depending on network performance, including the max. number of simultaneous clients supported, the client smartphone performance required, and the number of frames that can be transmitted per second.

  • In this paper, we propose a new transmission technique of audio signals for the serial connection of the speakers of multiple-channel audio systems. Analog audio signals from a multi-channel audio system are converted into digital signals with signal processing steps and transferred to each speaker through a serial line. The signal processing steps contain data compression and packet generation in association with audio signal characteristics. Each speaker gets its corresponding digital audio signals from the transmitted packets and converts the signals into analog audio signals to make sounds with the speaker All the proposed functions in this paper are modeled in VHDL. implemented with FPGA chips, and tested for actual multi-channel audio systems.

  • Tomography images reconstructed from conebeam CT make it possible to observe inside of the projected object without any damage, and so it has been widely used in the industrial and medical fields. Recent advanced imaging equipment can produce high-resolution CT images. However, it takes much time to reconstruct the obtained large dataset. To reduce the time to reconstruct CT images, we propose an accelerating method using GPU (graphics processing unit). Reconstruction consists of mainly two parts, filtering and back-projection. In filtering phase, we applied 4ch image compression method and in back-projection phase, computation reduction method using depth test is applied. The experimental results show that the proposed method accelerates the speed 50 times than the CPU-based program optimized with OpenMP by utilizing the high-computing power of parallelized GPU.

  • Among various inter prediction techniques of Versatile Video Coding (VVC), adaptive motion vector resolution (AMVR) technology has been adopted. However, for AMVR, various MVs should be tested per each coding unit, which needs a computation of rate-distortion cost and results in an increase in encoding complexity. Therefore, in order to reduce the encoding complexity of AMVR, it is necessary to effectively find an optimal AMVR mode. In this paper, we propose a lightweight neural network-based AMVR decision algorithm based on more diverse datasets.

  • In this paper, we develop a beamforming front end platform with pipeline circuit configuration method that can apply various clinical diagnostic applications of ultrasound image technology. Hardware design targets compression applications as well as scalable applications where power, integration levels and replication possibilities are important. Firmware design was implemented to achieve optimal FPGA parallel processing level by constructing new IP and system-oriented design environment to accelerate design productivity with maximum productivity improvement using Vivado HLS tool, which is a next generation high level synthesis tool. Former supports the high-speed management function of scan data that can create an image area arbitrarily and can be appropriately corrected and supplemented when reconfiguring or changing system specifications in the future.
