A Study on Space Utilization by Programs of Convention and Exhibition Facilities in Korea - Focusing on convention and exhibition facilities in large cities of Korea - (국내 전시컨벤션 시설의 프로그램에 따른 공간 활용에 관한 연구 - 국내 대도시의 전시컨벤션 시설을 중심으로 -)

  • The study performed analysis focusing on specialized convention and exhibition facilities among convention and exhibition facilities in Korea. The procedures and results were as follows: First, by theoretical consideration, meaning and contents of convention and exhibition programs done in convention and exhibition facilities were considered and after that, general characteristics of the programs which were the main of space utilization was derived. Second, considering scale and location, 6 facilities were re-selected for in-depth research from 12 facilities investigated preliminarily. Selected facilities were categorized by scale and through the analysis of programs done in this facilities for the last 1 year, overview and characteristics of utilization for exhibition space, conference space, and multi-purpose space, etc were analyzed. Third, through the case study on the programs, individual characteristics of space utilization by convention and exhibition program were analyzed. From the result of the study, considering the whole, the space utilization of programs was done as conference space rather than exhibition space and the ratio of use as conference space to use as exhibition space was 1.8 in the large facilities, 6.7 and 7.6 in the middle facilities and the small facilities, respectively. In the middle and small facilities, the ratio of use of one room as conference space was very high. In the large facilities, there was no big difference with the ratio 50:50 of the programs involving exhibition to other programs, but in the middle and small facilities, the ratio of the former to the latter was observed over 2.4 and 3.6. This fact indicated that the function of use as promotion and communication space for companies and industrial entities which were the essential purposes became low.

  • This study aims to examine how convention & exhibition visitors perceived value on their satisfaction, revisit and recommendation intention. To accomplish the goals, a field survey was conducted on the visitors of the COEX in Seoul area. The results of this study, based on a positive analysis, could be summarized as follows. First, perceived value is factorized as acquisition value, emotional value, monetary value, social value. Second, all factor of perceived value turned out to have affirmative effects on hotel employee's visitors satisfaction. Third, visitors satisfaction turned out to have affirmative effects on revisit intention. Forth, visitors satisfaction turned out to have affirmative effects on recommendation intention.

  • This study investigates effect of perceived organizational support which recognized by hotel convention employee on empowerment and organizational commitment from a social exchange relationship point of view. The major findings of this study were follows. First, the result of verification, effect of perceived organizational support which recognized by hotel convention employee, the hypothesis 1-1 and the hypothesis 1-2, operational support, the operational support had no significant effect on meaning, competence factor and effective factor. on the other hand the result of verification the hypothesis 1-3 and the hypothesis 1-4, the emotional support was found to have significantly positive effect on meaning, competence factor and effective factor. furthermore, by analysing the hypothesis 2, which states that the impact of empowerment on organizational commitment, the meaning, competence factor and effective factor as subset of empowerment had significantly positive effect on organizational commitment. finally by analysing the hypothesis 3, the operational support was found to have positive effect on organizational commitment, but emotional support had no significant effect on organizational commitment.

  • This study was designed to investigate the performance analysis of dining space design, food styling, and table decoration of hotel wedding conventions. For this purpose, it investigated relevant literatures, set up hypotheses to solve main questionable considerations and made a corresponding empirical analysis. For the empirical analysis, a questionnaire survey was conducted to total 316 customers of deluxe hotels in the Seoul area. The model was tested using SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 5.0 on a sample of 321 surveys received with 96% of usable response rate. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows. Dining space design has a significant effect on customer satisfaction. Food styling has significant influence on customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction has significant influence on revisit intention. Customer satisfaction has a significant effect on word of mouth. Revisit intention has significant influence on word of mouth.

  • MICE industry is emerging as a new growth engine recently. Most of the domestic MICE events are carried out at low cost on a small scale. The event organizers want to cut down on costs of prints such as brochures and other promotional printed materials, as well as the personnel costs for the simple guide job needed on site, which are generated repeatedly and wastefully. The existing mobile web has a defect that the participants can't easily earn the information in the fixed menu, but have to search by themselves wasting lots of time. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the solution enables providing information efficiently at low cost for short-term use during the events. In this study, we implemented specific total management system for exhibitions and convention using beacon. The information system for exhibitions and events using beacon can raise the management efficiency, and the digital brochure function based on CMS heightens the information retrieval ability and also reduces costs. Organizers can manage their event efficiently in a small exhibition and convention event by running an online website and operate a site management system by them selves.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that constitute the memorable tourism experiences and to grasp the influence relationship between the memorable tourism experience and the tourism destination brand equity and the loyalty of the tourism destination. The scope and method of the research are derived from the survey data collected through the questionnaire survey for foreign tourists who are visiting Korea, the reliability analysis and the feasibility analysis are conducted, and the relationship between the factors is analyzed through regression analysis.   • This study is about the exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance. The two topics were approached with integrated model. Accordingly, this study examined how service quality and experiential quality affect exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance, and how the correlation between exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance is affected. The result demonstrates that the quality of experience exerts positive effect on the visitors' sense of satisfaction(Hypothesis 3), while service quality is not statistically significant when it comes to the visitors' satisfaction(Hypothesis 1). When the correlation between service quality and experiential quality, and the participating companies' perception on the performance is examined, service quality exerts positive effect on the participating companies' perception on the performance(Hypothesis 2), while experiential quality is not statistically significant on the participating companies' perception on the performance(Hypothesis 4), When the correlation between exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance is examined, it was shown that positive effect is exerted just like the results of the previous studies(Hypothesis 5), lastly, correlation between participating companies' perception on the performance, companies' satisfaction and company loyalty was examined. In case of the participating companies' perception on the performance, it exerts positive effect on the companies' satisfaction(Hypothesis 6), while company loyalty is not statistically significant (Hypothesis 7). In case of companies' satisfaction, it exerts positive effect on the company loyalty (Hypothesis 8). The results of this study will provide help to increase overall understanding of the exhibition and convention visitors' satisfaction level and the participating companies' perception on the performance, and to provide important implications for the development of strategy for exhibition and convention's vitalization.
