Lightweight Crane Design by Using Topology and Shape Optimization (위상최적설계와 형상최적설계를 이용한 크레인의 경량설계)

  • CAE-based structural optimization techniques are applied for the design of a lightweight crane. The boom of the crane is designed by shape optimization with the shape of the cross section of the boom as the design variable. The design objective is mass minimization, and the static strength and dynamic stiffness of the system are set as the design constraints. Hyperworks, a commercial analysis and optimization software, is used for shape and topology optimization. In order to consistently change the shape of the elements of the boom with respect to the change in the shape of its cross section, the morphing function in Hyperworks is used. The support of the boom of the original model is simplified to model the design domain for topology optimization, which is discretized by using three-dimensional solid elements. The final result after shape and topology optimization is 19% and 17% reduction in the masses of the boom and support, respectively, without a deterioration in the system stiffness.

  • This paper proposes an optimal robust LQ-PID controller design method for the second order systems to satisfy the design specifications in time domain. The tuning parameters of LQ-PID controller are determinated by the relationships between the design parameters of the overshoot and the settling time which are design specifications in time domain, and the weighting factors Q and R in LQR. we can achieve the performance-robustness in time domain as well as the stability-robustness.

  • For design optimization, engineers should require the accurate information of design space and then explore the design space and carry out optimization. Recently, the total design framework, based on design of experiments and optimization, is widely used in industry areas to explore the design space above all. For optimizing turbofan engine design point, the response surface model is constructed by using the 7 level orthogonal array which satisfies the statistical uniformity and orthogonality and gets the dense design space information. The multi-objective genetic algorithm is used to find the optimal solution within the given constraints for finding global optimal one in response surface model. The optimal solution from response surface model is verified with GasTurb simulation result.

  • 초고주파 영역에서 전자파 영향을 감소시키기 위해 IED의 개구면에 대하여 (1+1) 진화전략 기법을 이용하여 최적 설계 연구를 수행하였다. 함체 재질이 ABS 수지와 steel-stainless의 경우에 대하여 개구면의 최적 설계를 수행하였다. 진화전략 기법을 이용하여 개굼녀의 최적 설계 결과 개구면의 크기가 감소하면서 상단에 위치할 때 고주파에서 PCB에 유기되는 전계가 약 47% 감소하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 TEM Cell 의 최적 설계방법을 제안한다. 임피던스 부정합을 최소화 시키기 위해 Cell 내부의 특성 임피던스를 $50{\Omega}$으로 유지하며, 동시에 중심 도체판(septum)의 길이와 도체판 날개(winglet)의 각을 변화 시킴으로써 내부 전자파의 균일도(Uniformity)를 최대로 하는 TEM Cell의 최적설계방법을 제안하며 (1+1)ES를 적용하여 시험영역을 최대로 하는 최적 설계 변수들을 제시한다.

  • 실제적인 문제에서 신뢰성 기반 최적 설계(RBDO)를 구현하기 위해서는 유한요소 모델을 해석하기 위한 상용 프로그램과 설계한 것에 대한 신뢰성을 산정할 수 있는 프로그램을 통합하고 최적화 알고리듬을 적용하여야 최적화를 수행하여야만 한다. 또한 최적화 과정에서 최적상태에서 제약조건이 비활성 영역에서 놓이게 되는 것을 방지하기 위해서 제약조건 최적화 문제를 비제약 조건 최적화 문제로 바꾸어 주는 장애 함수를 사용하여 최적화를 수행하였다. 그리고 이 방법론을 기존의 신뢰성기반 최적화 방법론, 즉 신뢰도지수 접근방법과 목표성능치 접근방법과의 비교를 하였다.

  • This study analyzes the effects of the curvature friction coefficient, the wobble friction coefficient, and the increased strength of concrete, reinforced tendon on optimum de signs by using the optimum-design program, to minimize the cost of a PSC box girder bridge using the full staging method. The objective of this study is to find a proper tendon for the friction coefficient, and thereafter, to indicate the direction of the study development about tendons and to indicate the direction of a study on the increased strength of used materials. This program used the SUMT procedure and Kavlie's extended-penalty function to allow infeasible design points in the process. Powel's direct method was used in searching design points, and the gradient approximate method was used to reduce the design hours.

  • Viterbi algorithm is widely used in digital communication system for FEC(forward error correction). Each communication systems based on the Viterbi algorithm use specific Viterbi decoder which has different code parameter values. Even if Viterbi decoder has the same code parameters, it can be varied by the design architecture adopted. We propose the parameterized VHDL model generator for the efficiency of the design. It makes it possible to achieve shorter design time and lower design cost. The model generator searches the design space available and finds out the optimal design point to generate a decoder model.

  • 본 논문에서는 WCDMA(Wide Code Division Multiple Access) 시스템 사양을 만족시키는 주파수 합성기 블록 중 위상잡음 및 전력소모의 최적 설계가 필요한 LC-VCO(voltage controlled oscillator)의 설계를 제안 하였다. 최적 설계를 위한 핵심내용은 LC-tank의 손실성분을 보상하는 MOS트랜지스터의 전달컨덕턴스와 인덕턴스 평면에 여유이득라인과 튜닝 범위 라인을 그어 설계 가능한 영역 내에서 위상잡음이 최소가 되는 인덕턴스 값을 구하고 선택하는 것이다. 제안한 최적 설계방법에 의해 진행된 LC-VCO의 시뮬레이션 결과 위상잡음 특성은 1MHz옵셋에서 -113dBc/Hz였다.

  • The design of optimal filter yielding optimal texture feature separation is a most effective technique in many torture analyzing areas, such as perception of surface, object, shape and depth. But, most optimal filter design approaches are restricted to the issue of computational complexity and supervised problems. In this paper, Our proposed method yields new insight into the design of optimal Gabor filters for segmenting multiple texture images. The optimal frequency of Gator filter is turned to the optimal frequency of the distinct texture in frequency domain. In order to show the performance of the designed filters, we have attempted to build a various texture images. Our experimental results show that the performance of the system is very successful.
