Aesthetics of Theatre of Kang Yang Won and The Theatre Troupe Dong (강량원과 극단 동의 연극미학)

  • The acting of physical action of the director Kang Yang Won's plays is mostly simple and repetitive. This acting induces the audience to sensuous perception and certain corporal emotions. In addition to semiotic meaning of dialogue a stimulus is given directly to sense of the audience. Therefore, the audience participate in creating a performative space with assistance of atmosphere. So, the feedback-loop of autopoiesis is made and the emergence of meaning is experienced due to felt perception. This emergent meaning springs unexpectedly by imagination, remembrance, and association etc. and is not produced on purpose. In addition, the audience participates in the performance together by the intersection of the perception for representation and perception for presence, and is especially affected by the presence of acting of physical action. In this paper, the study of four major performances of the theatre troupe Dong performed since the 2010s confirmed not only the individuality of each performance, but also the commonality that encompasses the entire performances. This led to discovering the discrimination power of the aesthetics of theater of the director Kang Yang Won and the theatre troupe Dong.

  • The salient features of interactive art development through the participation of spectators in the late 20th century could be creativity and possibility of future growth by biological factors. With the development of artificial life studies, Interactive art holds a position in the biological developmental stage, but relevant studies have not been active. This study analyzes three representative case studies located in the emergent stages of development and examines the traits closely so that the foundation of developmental direction of emergent property would be clarified.

  • In estimating designed architectural buildings, many factors in various design domains such as function, structure, form, environment may be considered and then a building design might be selected or modified as final design from many possible design results. This paper proposed a method to obtain complexity values from two dimensional drawings which are floor plans or elevations. The Complexity values could be turned into esthetic values. The method has been developed based on information theory, shape pattern representation and cognitive theory. Results of measuring complexity value can make the computer evaluate and select final results produced from automatic design processes by the computer That is to say, aesthetic values based on order and chaos can be measured using complexity values and then some results having superior values can be selected as final result. Also some cognitive processes as perception of two dimensional drawings are discussed using shape representations. Aesthetic values could be varied in terms of shape properties such as size, individualities and knowledge as well as order and chaos.

  • In this paper, we propose a NPC decision making model based on Prospect Theory which tries to model real-life choice, rather than optimal decision. For this purpose, we analyse the problems of reference point setting, diminishing sensitivity and loss aversion which are known as limitations of the utility theory and then apply these characteristics into the decision making in game. Dynamic Terrain Analysis is utilized to evaluate the proposed model and experimental result shows the method have effects on inducing diverse personality and emergent behavior on NPC.

  • This paper proposes a pursuing system utilizing the learning method where multiple cooperating agents emulate social behaviors of animals and insects and realize their group behaviors. Each agent contains sensors to perceive other agents in several directions and decides its behavior based on the information obtained by the sensors. In this paper, a neural network is used fir behavior decision controller. The input of the neural network is decided by the existence of other agents and the distance to the other agents. The output determines the directions in which the agent moves. The connection weight values of this neural network are encoded as genes, and the fitness individuals are determined using a genetic algorithm. Here, the fitness values imply how much group behaviors fit adequately to the goal and can express group behaviors. The validity of the system is verified through simulation.

  • Algorithm-based architecture helps specifically dividing the environmental variables of a target space into individual factors to build object-oriented programming, classifying them into an individual object according to the environmental variables of each planning circumstance, and distributing each structure into small structures. In addition, each itemized matter of construction is set as a condition, and thus it is possible to respond to the space condition of various circumstances which occur in the architectural planning process. This study is intended for predicting that a sketch role in the design process can be replaced by a design method utilizing an algorithm, through the external solar radiation and the illuminance value of indoor lighting device among the environmental variables of a target space, and for seeking a way to create a design alternative and improve the design quality by using computer-based algorithm design.

  • 알리바바는 단기간에 세계 최고규모의 전자 상거래 기업으로 성장하였다. 어떻게 그렇게 단기간에 그것도 인터넷이 그렇게 완비되지 않은 중국에서 출발하여 세계적 기업으로 알리바바가 성장할 수 있었을까? 이 문제에 대한 답을 구하고자 한다. 알리바바는 개방형 혁신을 통한 세계 최고수준의 창조적인 전자 상거래 비즈니스 모델을 단기간에 완비하여 갔다. 아울러, 개방형 혁신이 초래하는 복잡성이라는 비용, 즉 기업을 와해하는 원심력을 강력한 새로운 중국 기업 문화 "마윈식 소비자 신뢰 관씨 문화"를 구축하여 극복하여 왔다. 본 연구는 알리바바의 역동적인 개방형 혁신의 과정의 창발성과 그 과정에서 발생하는 원심력과 복잡성을 억제하는 새로운 관씨 문화, 제도, 및 리더십의 지속적인 강화 과정을 분석한다.

  • Recently, the size and complexity of the system we have to develop and to deal with are expanding quickly. Because of the great size of causally related network in itself, such a system will be very difficult to deal with based on the typical reduction model. One of alternatives for this is to adopt emergence-based paradigm instead of reduction-based paradigm. The first is based on the low level causality and the latter on the high level emergence. In this paper we proposed an emergence-based object model realizable in terms of engineering. It is the abstracted one from original object model using of such concepts as performance function, interest function and emotional layer. The suggested model allows us to emerge some important concepts which might be useful for implementing the complex system which can hardly be available by reduction paradigm.

  • 본 논문은 복잡다단한 환경변화에 효과적으로 대응하기 위하여 오늘날 여러 학문 분야에서 주로 이용되고 있는 복잡계 이론의 사고와 방법론을 기반으로 테러대응을 위한 분야별 제 접근에 대하여 논하는데 그 목적이 있다. 우리는 수많은 테러조직 및 테러환경 요인들과 연결된 복잡한 시스템 속에서 활동하고 있기 때문에 이 모든 것을 이해하고 통제하며 예측하면서 대응한다는 것은 사실상 애초부터 불가능한 일일지도 모른다. 테러대응 역시 테러대응 관계 기관간, 관계 기관 전담 부서 내의 구성원들의 상호작용뿐만 아니라 넓게는 정부, 민간단체, 산업체, 학계, 언론 등 나아가서는 국가간의 이해 관계자, 국제기구 등 테러대응 분야의 다양한 조직들의 참여하에 이들의 상호작용으로 공식적, 비공식적 의사 결정을 통한 방안들을 모색하는 것이 필요할 것이다. 이에 따라 초기조건의 민감성, 프랙탈과 자기유사성, 자기 조직화, 창발, 공진화, 혼돈의 가장자리의 복잡계 이론을 통하여 테러대응 분야의 적용가능성을 은유적으로 탐색할 수 있을 것이다.

  • The new aspect of contemporary architectural design is the computer simulation of morphogenesis and evolution of the organic body. Morphogenesis and evolution is the kind of emergence that is the process of complex pattern formation from simpler rules in complex system. The development comprises the sequence of pattern formation, differentiation, morphogenesis, growth. This study analyzes the application methodology of various biomorphism in contemporary architecture. The methods of generative application by computation in architecture are self-organization, differentiation, growth algorithm via MoSS. And the methods of evolution by computation are genetic algorithm, multi-parameter in environments, phylogenetic cross-over, competing as natural selection, mutation+external constraints, generative algorithm+genetic algorithm via Genr8.
