Does Story Enhance Social Cognitive Ability? Associations between Working Memory and Perspective Taking Ability (이야기는 사회인지능력을 향상시키는가? 작업기억과 관점채택 능력과의 관계)

  • This study was to examine association between working memory and social cognitive ability, and the influence of story-use on social cognitive ability. To this end, this study measured working memory(via n-back), and randomly assigned 82 participants into three groups(5th level intentionality, 3rd-level intentionality, and exposition conditions), and then compared the accuracy of perspective taking and emotion recognition(RMET: Reading Minds in the Eyes Test) as social cognitive ability. The results suggested that perspective taking accuracy was significantly associated with working memory capacity, whereas emotion recognition accuracy was not. Contrary to the hypothesis, perspective taking in the 5th-level intentionality story group were significantly lower than those in the 3rd-level intentionality story group. Emotions recognition accuracy was not significantly different among the three groups. Overall, this study produced inconsistent results, which has been discussed in terms of theory and methods.

  • 시맨틱 웹 기술을 이용하는 추론 엔진들이 사용하는 지식은 기본적으로 주어(subject)와 술어(predicate), 목적어(object)로 구성된 트리플(triple)들의 집합이며, 이를 저장하기 위한 구조로 관계형 데이터베이스(R-DB)가 주로 이용된다. 본 논문은 DBMS 기반의 추론 서비스인 OntoThink-K$^{(R)}$트리플 저장 구조와 함께 SPARQL 질의 언어를 지원하기 위한 SPARQL-SQL 매핑에 대해 설명한다. OntoThink-K$^{(R)}$스키마 무관과 스키마 인지의 두 가지 방식의 트리플 저장 구조를 지원하며, 본 논문에서는 각 저장 구조에 따른 SPARQL-SQL 매핑 방법을 설명하고 실험을 통해 두 방식에서의 추론 속도의 차이를 비교한다. 이 실험 결과로부터 우리는 스키마 인지 방식을 사용함으로써 스키마 무관 방식에 비해 적어도 2배 이상의 속도 향상을 꾀할 수 있음을 알았다.

Convergence Factors Influencing Clinical Reasoning Competency of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 임상적 추론 역량에 미치는 융합적 영향요인)

  • In this study, an attempt was made to investigate the clinical reasoning of nursing students and to identify the factors that influence it. This study was held to grasp the learning ability related to core nursing competency for 297 3rd and 4rd grade nursing students. Results indicated that there was a significant difference when comparing clinical competence by grade(p=0.001). Also variables effecting clinical reasoning competence were Problem solving ability, Clinical Decision making ability, Clinical practice performance, and grade of nursing students were found to be significant (p,.001). Outcome of this study can be used as the basis for the development of various curriculums to enhance the clinical reasoning competence, in the future, research for this education development is expected to be needed.

  • In this paper, we describe a fuzzy inference approach for detecting and classifying shot transitions in video sequences. Our approach basically extends FAM (Fuzzy Associative Memory) to detect and classify shot transitions, including cuts, fades and dissolves. We consider a set of feature values that characterize differences between two consecutive frames as input fuzzy sets, and the types of shot transitions as output fuzzy sets. The inference system proposed in this paper is mainly composed of a learning phase and an inferring phase. In the learning phase, the system initializes its basic structure by determining fuzzy membership functions and constructs fuzzy rules. In the inferring phase, the system conducts actual inference using the constructed fuzzy rules. In order to verify the performance of the proposed shot transition detection method experiments have been carried out with a video database that includes news, movies, advertisements, documentaries and music videos.

  • In order to provide with personalized recommendation service in context-awareness environment, the collected context data should be analyzed fast and the objective of user should be able to inferred effectively. But, the context collected from the mobile devices is not suitable for applying the existing inference algorithms as they are due to the omission or uncertainty of information and the efficient algorithms are required for mobile environment. In this paper, the behavior pattern was classified using naive bayes classification for minimize the loss caused by the omission or error of information. And pattern matching was used to effectively learn of the users inclination and infer the behavior purpose. The accuracy of the suggested inference model was evaluated by applying to the application recommendation service in the smart phones.

  • 최근 사회생활의 다변화로 인한 개인의 질환을 예방하고 건강을 증진시키기 위한 개인 웰니스 관리는 현대 사회의 성인에게는 필수적인 자기 관리에 해당된다. 본 논문는 이러한 웰니스 관리에 적절한 상황 모델로써 상황 데이터를 추론할 수 있는 SWRL 상황규칙과 불확실성을 표현한 베이지안 네트워크를 포함한 통합 온톨로지 기반 상황모델을 제시하였다. 제안한 상황모델에 포함된 추론 규칙은 웰니스 관리에 필요한 상황 서비스를 수행하는 액션들을 정의한다. 즉 상황 온톨로지에 SWRL 규칙을 포함함으로써 주로 웹 시멘틱에 사용되고 있는 OWL 언어를 상황인식 분야의 지식 베이스 구축에도 적합하도록 하였다. 그리고 웰니스 관리를 위해 상황 온톨로지로 표현되는 원시 상황 데이터는 센서 부정확성, 또는 개인 판단기준 차이로 인해 불확실성을 포함하므로, 어떤 논리적 상황 데이터는 불확실성을 고려하여 추론되어야 하기 때문에 본 논문은 상황 온톨로지 및 SWRL 규칙과 함께 베이지안 네트워크를 함께 표현할 수 있게 하여 OWL 상황 온톨로지 기반 규칙 추론뿐만 아니라 확률 추론을 용이하게 하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 개선된 FCM 알고리즘을 적용하여 통계청에서 제공하는 한국 표준 질병 사인 분류표(K.C.D)를 기초로 질병을 분류한 후, 질병을 도출하고 애매한 증상의 차이의 정도를 퍼지 추론기법을 사용하여 정확한 질병 상세를 도출할 수 있는 한방 질병 분류 시스템을 제시한다. 기존의 FCM 알고리즘은 입력 벡터들과 각 군집 중심과의 거리를 이용하여 측정된 유사도에 기초한 목적 함수의 최적화 방식을 사용한다. 하지만 측정된 패턴과 군집 공간상의 패턴들의 분포에 따라 바람직하지 못한 군집화 결과를 보일 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 군집들의 대칭성 측도에 퍼지 이론을 적용하여 기존의 FCM 알고리즘으로 군집화 한 결과를 재 군집화 하여 군집화의 정확성을 개선시킨 후, 증상의 차이를 구분하기 위해서 애매한 증상의 정도를 퍼지 추론 방법을 적용하여 정확한 질병 상세를 도출할 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서는 개선된 FCM 알고리즘을 적용하여 질병을 분류한 후, 퍼지 제어 기법으로 질병을 추출함으로써 기존의 한방 자가진단 시스템 보다 정확하게 질병을 도출한 것을 확인하였다.

일반화 감마분포에서의 누율계산과 지표모수에 대한 Bartlett 검정

  • 일반화 감마분포(generalized gamma distribution)에서 지표모수(index parameter)에 대한 추론은 생존시간(lifetime)과 관련한 모형의 선택문제에서 매우 중요하다. 이에 대한 정확한(exact) 추론법은 알려져 있지 않다. 본 연구에서는 이에 대한 점근적(asymptotic) 검정법으로 소표본에서도 우도비 검정에 비해 효율이 뛰어난 Bartlett 검정을 제안하고, 이의 요율적 수행을 위한 대체 모형으로 부터의 누율계산(cumulant computation) 법을 제시하였다. 또한 실제자료에 대해 본 논문에서 제시한 누율계산과정을 이용하여 Bartlett 검정을 실시한 결과 기존의 우도비 검정과는 상당히 큰 차이가 남을 확인하였다. 따라서 모형의 선택 등의 문제에서 제안된 방법은 소표본의 경우에 더욱 효율적이라 할 수 있다.

The Needs Assessment of Middle School Students for Practical Reasoning Home Economics Classes in the Distance Learning Environment (원격학습 환경에서 가정교과 실천적 추론 과정에 대한 중학생의 요구도 조사연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the needs of middle school students for the practical reasoning in a distance learning environment, to verify the needs differences based on the learner's personal characteristics, student-teacher interaction, and student-student interaction, and to investigate the relationships among student-teacher interaction, voluntary participation of students, and the students' perception of the extent to which practical reasoning is implemented in distance learning. For this purpose, 1,842 middle school students from seven schools in Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Chungbuk, and Sejong areas were surveyed online to investigate the importance of the practical reasoning questions and the how much practical reasoning is implemented in current distance learning. Among them, 1,095 responses were used for final analysis and descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and path analysis were conducted. As a result of the study, first, middle school students acknowledged that the practical reasoning was important with the importance average 3.76. Based on the locus for focus model, the priorities of the needs in home economics class were examined, and the values and importance of the problem, and the ramification of the solution were considered to be of high priority. Second, characteristics of middle school students, student-teacher interaction and student-student interaction were found to have positive influence on needs for practical reasoning, while no difference were found by gender or voluntary participation in distance learning. Third, the voluntary participation of students and the student-teacher interaction in distance learning had a positive (+) significant effect on perceived implementation of practical reasoning, yet negative (-) significant effect on needs for practical reasoning.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of teaching on functional thinking, one of the algebraic thinking in sixth grade students level. For this study, we developed functional thinking based-teaching through analyzing mathematical curriculum and preceding research, which consisted of 12 classes, and we investigated the effects of teaching through quantitative and qualitative analysis. In the results of this study, functional thinking based-teaching was statistically proven to be more effective in improving algebraic reasoning skills and lower elements which is an algebraic reasoning as generalized arithmetic and functional thinking, compared to traditional textbook-centered lessons. In addition, the functional thinking based-teaching gave a positive impact on the functional thinking level. Thus functional thinking based-teaching provides guidance on the implications for teaching and learning methods and study of the functional thinking in the future, because of the significant impact on the mathematics learning in six grade students.
