Academic and Job Stress Factors of Male Dental Hygienists: Analysis of Narrative Interview (남자 치과위생사의 학업 및 직무 관련 스트레스 요인: 내러티브 인터뷰 분석)

  • This study aimed to provide the basic data necessary for lowering the academic and job stress and turnover rate of male dental hygienists in the future, by understanding the academic and job stress factors of male dental hygienists. As the research method, this study conducted the one-to-one interview with five male dental hygienists with career experiences for 1-5 years at dental hospital and dental clinic, and the interview took about an hour. In the results of this study, the main academic stress factors were interpersonal relationship and too much assignment while the main job stress factors were communication problems with female staffs and director, and anxiety about the future. They relieved their stress through meeting with friends, relaxation, and hobbies. Based on such results of this study, it would be necessary to suggest the measures for improving the interpersonal relationship in academic life of male dental hygienists, providing information about employment, and also finding the future-oriented goals and confidence in the profession as a male dental hygienist.

Analysis of Convergent Influence of Self Efficacy, Job Characteristics and Occupational Stress on Job Satisfaction among Hospital Administrative Staff (병원행정직의 자기효능감, 직무특성 및 직무스트레스가 직무만족도에 미치는 융복합적 영향 분석)

  • We study convergent influence on Job Satisfaction(JS) and its association with Self Efficacy(SE), Job Characteristics(JC) and Occupational Stress(OS) among Hospital Administrative Staff(HAS). The survey was administered to 221 staff from 11 general hospitals located in Jeonbuk area from Nov. 1st, 2016 to Jan. 31st, 2017. The structured self-administered questionaries were used. JS was positively correlated with SE and three sub-domains of JC, and it was negatively correlated with seven sub-domains of OS. With the analysis of covariance structure, OS was more influential on JS than SE and JC. The study found the higher SE and JC, and the lower OC tend to increase JS. The results indicate that the efforts, to increase SE and JC, and to decrease OS, are required to increase the JS of HAS. The results are expected to be useful for organization personnel management to increase the JS of HAS. In the following study, the analysis about convergent additional factors of influence on JS will be needed.

The Effects of Emotional Intelligence on Happiness among Early Ehildhood Teachers: The Mediating Effects of Job Stress and Teaching Efficacy (영유아교사의 정서지능이 행복감에 미치는 영향: 직무스트레스 및 교사효능감의 매개효과)

  • This study examined the effects of emotional intelligence, teaching efficacy and job stress on happiness among early childhood teachers. Data were collected from 246 early childhood teachers. To collect the data, emotional intelligence, teaching efficacy, job stress, and happiness instruments were used. All research variables were measured using self-reported questionnaires, and were analyzed with one-way ANOVA, t-test, Pearson's correlation and pathway analysis. The results indicated teachers' happiness had no difference by demographic variables. Emotional intelligence had a direct effect and an indirect effect through teaching efficacy and job stress on happiness among early childhood teachers. Teaching efficacy and job stress had a direct effect on happiness among early childhood teachers. Additionally, emotional intelligence was the most important variable predicting early childhood teachers' happiness. Teaching efficacy and job stress had a mediating effect between emotional intelligence and happiness.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of job stress factors on Coping Strategy' turnover intention, and to analyze the moderating effects of five personality factors between each job stress factor and turnover intention. To achieve this purpose, this study surveyed users of the Seoul and Gyeonggi in based on cluster sampling method. A total of 262 samples were used for this study, except 18 erroneous samples dropped. For the data process of the questionnaire, each answer content was coded and an element analysis, credibility analysis, frequency analysis, co-relationship analysis and regression analysis were performed using the SPSS version 18.0 of Angel for Windows. Through the data analysis following the research methods above, the conclusion was acquired as follows: First, thejob stress of the security personnel affect coping behavior. Second, in the effects of Security Agents Job Stress on Coping Strategy, Five Personality Factors showed moderating effects.

The effect of job stress on job exhaustion on Middle School teacher (중등교원의 직무스트레스가 직무소진에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, honorary retirement is spreading like a fashion among teachers. This was due to rapid environmental changes and stress. Therefore, in this study, we examined the relationship between teachers' stress and job exhaustion. The study was conducted for middle school teachers in Changwon city. The results of this study were as follows: First, job stress of middle school teachers affected emotional exhaustion. Second, job stress of middle school teachers had an effect on impersonation. Finally, job stress of secondary teachers did not affect the reduced individual achievement. The results of this study suggest that job stress of middle school teachers is closely related to job exhaustion. Therefore, it is urgent to improve the administrative simplification based on the analysis of the teacher 's stress factors and the immersion into the class.

The Influence of Job Stress, Stress Coping Strategies, Empathy ability on Burnout of Social Workers in Long-term Care Facilities (노인요양시설 사회복지사의 직무스트레스, 스트레스 대처전략, 공감능력이 소진에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationships between job stress, stress coping strategies, empathy ability, and burnout in social workers at long-term care facilities. Data was collected from 201 social workers in three cities from March to May 2020 using structured questionnaires. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results showed that burnout significantly differed according to age, marital status, and career among the general characteristics. In the relationships between major variables, burnout showed a significant positive correlation with job stress and showed significant negative correlations with stress coping strategies and empathy ability. The major factors affecting burnout were job stress and empathy ability, which explained 72.3% of the variance. The results of this study suggest that job stress and empathy ability are important factors for burnout. Findings indicate a need to decrease job stress and increase empathy ability to prevent the burnout of social workers. Further studies are needed to examine burnout prevention strategies for social workers.

The Effects of Strategic Human Resource Management on Job Stress and Occupational Commitment of Security Workers (전략적 인적자원관리가 시큐리티업무 종사자의 직무스트레스와 직업몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of strategic human resource management on job stress and occupational commitment of security workers. A sample of 188 persons was extracted using the SPSS 18.0 program as a significant sampling method for the security worker. Frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted according to the purpose of the data, and the following conclusions were drawn. First, strategic human resource management has a significant effect on job stress. Second, strategic human resource management has a significant impact on occupation. Third, job stress had a significant effect on occupation commitment. That is, two factors of strategic human resource management and job stress play a decisive role in occupation commitment, and job stress plays an important role as a parameter. In conclusion, if we select the factors of strategic human resource management needed for each organization and develop new methods and competitiveness, it will be very helpful for qualitative growth of security industry.

Relationship between Occupational Stress and Work-related Factors in Dental Hygienists (치과위생사의 직무스트레스와 직무요인의 관계)

  • This study was purposed to evaluate the level of occupational stress and the work-related factors of occupational stress in dental hygienists. The study was conducted during the period from May to October 2010 with study population consisted of 316 dental hygienists. The occupational stress was estimated with questionnaire of the Korean Occupational Stress Scale(KOSS) and the work-related factors were consisted with 9 work characteristics. Data analysis was performed with t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis using SPSS(win ver 18.0) program. The level of occupational stress was $52.42{\pm}4.95$ in dental hygienists. The levels of sub-scales for occupational stress were $64.56{\pm}12.17$ in interpersonal conflict, $59.85{\pm}13.59$ in physical environment, $54.60{\pm}13.51$ in organizational system, $52.37{\pm}11.47$ in job demand, $51.71{\pm}10.58$ in lack of reward, $48.14{\pm}12.97$ in insufficient job control, $46.68{\pm}9.25$ in job insecurity, $41.46{\pm}15.98$ in occupational climate, respectively. According to multiple regression analysis, physical burden and daily repetitive working hour were work-related factors of occupational stress in dental hygienists. To conclude, the occupational stress in dental hygienists was higher than mean score of reference values of occupational stress in Korean workers and methods for reducing work load and work hours considering work characteristics of dental hygienist are needed to prevent occupational stress in dental hygienists.

Relationship between Job Stress and Smoking Behaviors among Small Scale Manufacturing Male Workers (소규모 제조업 남성 근로자의 직무스트레스와 흡연행동과의 관련성)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between job stress and smoking behaviors among small scale manufacturing male workers. A self administered questionnaire was given to 856 male workers employed in 24 work places under 50 members of manufacturing industries. As a results, the smoking rates of small scale manufacturing male workers was 35.2%. In the results of multiple logistic regression analysis to know the relationship between job stress and smoking behaviors, the Odds ratio of the total score of Korean Occupational Stress Scale(KOSS) and its subarea(physical environment, job demand, organizational system, lack of reward and occupational climate) were significantly increased in high risk group than normal group. These results suggested that job stress may play a significant role in the smoking behaviors in the high risk group than normal group of small scale manufacturing male workers.

  • This study is to provide the measures of the reduction which can improve the business efficiency of the office workers of construction company through the analysis of the status of their job stress. The important results obtained through this study are as follows. Firstly, the research on impact factor of job stress showed the performance appraisal and responsibility for business performance are the most stressful factors. Secondly, the research on the problems of activities for stress reduction carried out in the current workplace showed that the most office workers indicated the deficiency of financial investment and exploration of ideas related to the activities and insufficiency of public relation of activities.
