  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of SNS addiction tendency, pathological narcissism, social support, and stress among university students. Data were collected via questionnaires from 385 students and were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Stepwise multiple regression analysis using SPSS/WIN 19.0 program. The levels of SNS addiction tendency depended on gender, SNS usage time, SNS over-usage, health problem, and household economic status. SNS addiction tendency was significantly correlated with pathological narcissism, social support, and stress. Influential factors that affect SNS addiction tendency were pathological narcissism, SNS usage time, SNS over-usage, gender, social support, and academic performance, which explained about 39.4% of the variance. The results of this study indicate that nursing interventions are necessary to improve SNS addiction tendency, and also suggesting that such variables should be carefully considered in intervention programs for university students.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the impact of stress coping styles on the relationship between covert narcissism and SNS addiction proneness of college students. For this study, 470 college students in Busan completed covert narcissism scale, SNS addiction proneness scale, stress coping style scale and the collected date were analyzed using correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. As the result of analysis, covert narcissism, stress coping styles, and SNS addiction proneness have a significant correlation, and stress coping styles partially mediated the association between covert narcissism and SNS addiction proneness. Therefore, people with covert narcissism use SNS as a way to relieve stress more often and it can be addictive. Based on these results, this study has significant implications for understanding SNS addiction proneness and providing data for therapeutic and educational approaches.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of SNS addiction tendency and social support on cyber violence among college students. Data collection was conducted through a structured questionnaire for 330 college students and analyzed through SPSS 18.0 program. As a result of the analysis, SNS addiction tendency was low as $1.81{\pm}0.55$, social support was $4.00{\pm}0.78$ and cyber violence was $1.38{\pm}0.59$. There was a significant positive correlation between SNS addiction tendency and SNS posting frequency, and there was a significant negative correlation between social support and grade. Cyber violence increased as the tendency of SNS addiction increased, as social support decreased, and cyber violence decreased in the second and third graders compared to the first grade. For this purpose, it is necessary to strengthen cyber education and group counseling program suitable for college students and it will be necessary to make effort to raise self - control.

  • This study identified the latent groups according to smartphone addiction tendency and examined the factors affecting the latent group identification. The best-fitting LCA solution had three classes. The first group was 'non-academic stressed group, immersed in smartphone' It was characterized low scores on academic stress and average scores on smartphone addiction tendency. The second group was 'medium level academic stressed group, immersed in smartphone' which scored slightly above average in academic stress and smartphone addiction tendency. The third group was 'medium level academic stressed group, non-immersed in smartphone'. It showed higher scores than average in academic stress, but students with far lower scores in smartphone addiction tendency. Logistic analysis result showed that gender and grade were significant. This study is meaningful in analyzing academic related variable(academic stress) and mental health related variable(smartphone addiction tendency) to classify the groups according to patterns between the two variables and suggest appropriate intervention for each group in a convergence way.

  • This study was performed to identify the relationship between the SNS addiction tendency, self-assertiveness and interpersonal problems in college students. The subjects consisted of 198 students in Korea. The data were collected using a self-report questionnaire from September 10 to 12, 2013. The data were analyzed by frequency, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation using SPSS for Windows version 22. The SNS addiction tendency was significantly negatively correlated with self-assertiveness(r=-.148, p<.05) and significantly positively correlated with interpersonal problems (r=.434, p<.001). Self-assertiveness was significantly negatively correlated with interpersonal problems (r=-.459, p<.001). The higher the SNS addiction tendency, the lower the self-assertiveness and the higher the interpersonal problems. The lower the self-assertiveness, the higher the interpersonal problems. Therefore, to decrease the SNS addiction tendency, increase the self-assertiveness and decrease the interpersonal problems, it is necessary to develop and test program.

The subjects were 259 male and female adolescents enrolled in A region Province (134 male and 125 female students). The results are as follows. First, the relationship between loneliness and SNS poisoning tendency was positively correlated with loneliness and SNS poisoning tendency in males, whereas there was no significant correlation in females. In addition, the relationship between parental psychological control and smartphone game addiction was positively correlated with psychological control by parents and smartphone game addiction in female students, whereas there was no significant correlation in males. Second, the relationship between parents' psychological control and SNS addiction depending on the level of loneliness did not significantly change between both male and female middle-school students. Third, as a result of examining the relationship between parental psychological control and smartphone game addiction in male and female middle-school students according to degree of loneliness, only male students showed a moderating effect. Finally, the limitations of this study and suggestions for follow-up studies were discussed.

  • This paper tried to determine whether emotional dysregulation would function as a mediating variable when social exclusion affects SNS addiction tendencies. For this purpose, a survey was conducted targeting students enrolled in a university located in the central region. Responses from 298 people were analyzed. The analysis results show that social exclusion completely mediates emotional dysregulation and influences SNS addiction tendencies. Meanwhile, we set the two sub-dimensions of social exclusion as independent variables to determine whether it influences SNS addiction tendency through emotion regulation. It was found that the experience of being ignored influenced the tendency to addict to SNS by partially mediating the experience of emotion regulation, while the experience of rejection was found to affect the tendency to addict to SNS by fully mediating the experience of emotion regulation. These analysis results show that when establishing social exclusion as an influential factor in SNS addiction tendency, it is meaningful not only to set it as an overall factor but also to approach it by dividing it into individual factors.

  • This study is a descriptive research study to find out the relationship between degree of Self-Esteem, Anger-Out, Anger-In, Anger-Control and SNS Addiction Tendency of high school students, and the factors that influence SNS addiction tendency. For a total of 10 days from May 18 to 28, 2020, a total of 100 people were collected using online questionnaires to those who were attending high schools in S and G regions and using SNS. As a result of the study, SNS addiction tendency and self-esteem(r=.385, p<.001), anger-control(r=-.354, p<.001) showed a normal inverse correlation, and an anger-out (r=.321, p=.001), anger-in (r=308, p=.002) showed a common net correlation. Factors affecting SNS addiction tendencies were self-esteem(β=-.297, p=.001), gender(β=.266, p=.003), and anger-out(β=.247, p=.007), with 27.7% explanatory power in the regression model(F=12.279, p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to develop programs to increase high school students' self-esteem and lower their anger-out in order to reduce SNS addiction tendencies, especially for female high school students in gender.
