  • Agile frequency synthesizers are the common device used for commandable, wide-band frequency hopping in frequency-hopped (FH) communications. In this paper, synthesizer phase transient effect and its compensation methods in an FH/FSK(Frequency Hopped Frequency Shift Keying) system are studied. Models for these analysis are developed and resulting performance degradations are computed. The basic PLL is difficult to implement for fast frequency hopping in narrowband radio communication systems. To solve this problem, digital frequency synthesizer/CPM (Continuous Phase Modulation)modulator is proposed. And it's performance is analyzed theoretically. The analysis show that fast frequency hopping is possible in frequency hopping system that use digital frequency synthesizer/CPM modulator.

  • A frequency hopping(FH) signal can change its carrier frequency during transmission and has spread-spectrum characteristics in these frequency bands. Therefore, FH signals are widely used in applications that require low-probability-of-intercept(LPI) and anti-jamming (AJ) abilities in wireless communication environments. In this study, the authors propose a method for generating hopping information (HI), which includes start time, dwell time, and hopping frequency for unknown FH signals. The proposed blind HI generation method produces signal detection information based on the spectrum data and then extracts HI using operational procedures for estimating the target FH signal's status, such as appearance, maintenance, and termination. Further, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method provides accurate HI without detection omissions for various FH signals.

  • In this paper, a high speed code synchronization circuit is proposed. for fast code synchronization, matched filler method is used for initial code acquisition with two channel correlators. Particular frequency patterns of the limited number having the information about PN code start time are composed and transmitted repeatedly to increase the probability of accurate initial synchronization. And digital frequency synthesizer is proposed. And it's performance is analyzed theoretically. The analysis show that fast frequency hopping is possible in frequency hopping system that use digital frequency synthesizer.

  • The frequency-hopping sequence is a type of user-specific code that has been used in various ways in military communication, Bluetooth, and ultra-wideband communications. In a practical communication environment, a frequency-hopping sequence with an alphabet and a length suitable for the number of available frequencies and transmission period is required. Therefore, the design of the frequency-hopping sequence having various parameters is a very important problem in frequency-hopping spread-spectrum communication. To this end, this paper explores a method of synthesizing a sequence of a new length through the synthesis of existing frequency-hopping sequences. As a result, it is possible to present the possibility of frequency-hopping sequences applicable to various environments of communications.

  • In this paper, we studied the frequency hopping(FH) performance on the FH radio communication system via M&S of initial synchronization architecture. It is difficult to test the synchronization performance on the real FH communication environment. Thus, we have modeled the synchronization system similar to the real radio communication structure, and simulated the optimum correlation value and the synchronization performance on AWGN channel. As the result, we could obtain the thresholds of correlation synchronization and the FH synchronization performance under the low SNR.

  • In this paper, we propose a solution for interference with Bluetooth when connecting Bluetooth and other devices. The random frequency hopping technique is a technique of generating a hopping pattern using the entire Bluetooth channel without considering the interference of the wireless LAN. The proposed adaptive frequency hopping technique is a technique for generating a hopping pattern of Bluetooth channel considering periodic carrier sensing of Bluetooth and considering WLAN interference. Simulation results show that the use of adaptive frequency hopping reduces the packet error rate as the Bluetooth carrier sensing interval decreases even in the congestion of WLAN interference. Especially, the frequency hopping technique improves the average packet error rate by about 13% compared to the adaptive frequency hopping technique.

  • Frequency synthesizer is an essential part for developing high speed frequency hopping radio. A high speed synthesizer using DDS driven PLL technique is designed and implemented for a X-band portable satellite terminal. It generates transmitter and receiver frequency ranging 6600∼7100MHz and 6140∼6640MHz, respectively by using 102.4MHz local oscillator, Its lock time is below 15 $\mu$sec and Its phase noise is below -754dBc at 1KHz offset Sequency.

  • This paper proposes the generation of several classes of frequency hopping patterns. which are derived by permutation, for an asynchronous frequency hopping spread spectrum multiple accecss system (FH/SSMA). The first class of hopping patterns is obtained by using a Latin square. The second class of hopping patterns is derived by generalizing the first class which is designed by using a permutation technique. The third class of hopping patterns is designed by using a rotational base of elements. We evaluate the hit property of the proposed classes of hopping patterns when these patterns are nutually shifted in an FH/SSMA system. Compared to the Reed Slolmon sequences generated by the conventional method, the sequence obtained by the permutation technique can reduce the number of hits among hopping frequencies in asynchronous time/frequency shift.

  • Frequency hopping system has been adopted to many communication systems in order to overcome the inferior situation such as jamming environment. But typically its processing gain being limited, data interfered by jamming signal could not be fully recovered. This can be enhanced by combing FH system with spatial interference canceller which is a kind of active beamformer In this Paper, we proposed the compensation method of weight vector discrepancy according to the hopped frequencies and the PMBF method which is able to eliminate the inference effectively with less computational complexity. That is, the steering vector of wanted signals can be calculated from the frame without jamming signals using eigen analysis. New projection matrix extracted by the steering vector of wanted signal eliminates the interferences from the covariance matrix of received signal including wanted signal and jamming signals. This PMBF has similar performance of SINR beamformer with less computational complexity.

  • This paper presents a study on the subject for the design and implementation of high-speed frequency hopping RF transceiver used for tactical communications systems. Jump the transmission / reception frequency of the L-band to hop tens per second is possible by maximizing the immunity to interference, and is applicable to communication systems having a charging rotation function. To high-speed frequency hopping it is necessary to apply the necessary fast frequency hopping scheme DDS Driven PLL added. In this paper, the RF transceiver design and simulation analysis capabilities with fast frequency tactical communication systems, were implemented after the main test for functionality and performance. Was demonstrated hop high-speed jump tens per second through a test, the main transmission output, were measured RF key performance, such as received noise figure, by using the VSG and VSA generates a ${\pi}/4$ DQPSK modulated signal constellation and by EVM measurement that there is no problem in applying the communications system described above was pre-validated.
