  • Samsung Tesco is a representative company that is successfully enforcing 'sustainable management' through creative, systematic corporate responsibility (CR). The concentration on CR is because of the fact that the modern society expects companies to do a role as a social citizen. For this reason, Samsung Tesco emphasizes that the cost of carrying on CR is an important factor in business which leads to a positive cycle in business, and accordingly is rather an investment than a cost. The reason why Samsung Tesco proclaimed its resolution to make best efforts on CR is because Samsung Tesco thinks CR is a necessary task and responsibility of a company. Samsung Tesco is doing various activities continuously, and is investing by increasing its costs on CR and systemizing the organization. Consequently, Samsung Tesco is being evaluated as the first and best innovative company in the distribution industry. This case study firstly shows the actual conditions of domestic companies in doing CR. Secondly, it analyzes how Samsung Tesco is carrying out the cultural, sharing, and environmental CR. And lastly, it gives some strategic points on successful CR.

Public Marketing of a Nonprofit-Oriented Educational Institution: Inje University's Pioneering Work in the Frontier (비영리교육기관의 공익마케팅: 인제대학교의 프론티어개척)

  • Inje University, a nonprofit-oriented educational institution, was ranked second in the nation and first in all the local universities in the 2001 Comprehensive Evaluation of the Universities in 25 years since it was founded. In order to find out the reason for this high reputation, we had an interview with the chairman and an in-depth interview with other school authorities, interviewed the students and the residents in the community, and collected related data for the second time. We revealed that Inje University had been performing public marketing in the areas of its management philosophy, function, form, and performance. Our interview with the chairman confirmed that Inje University's management philosophy is the frontier spirits that 'contribute to the moor, attracting nobody's attention, in the name of public interest.' It was also revealed that this management philosophy made the function of the university differ from that of the others. Inje University had been focusing on forming a public network for its community, the nation, and the world, not just for its students. Furthermore, we also found out that the university had its unique separate organizations to take care of this business. An excellent on-campus network for the student and the school, a network between off-campus industries, and an international Inje exchange network had been formed. We have concluded that Inje University is a strong nonprofit-oriented hidden champion. The healing art, easily ignored but essential to human beings, and its commitment to education with all its property invested have contributed to Inje University's social status, reputation, and achievements today.

  • With the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, the provision of data-driven AI services that enable automation and intelligence is increasing across industries, raising concerns about the AI security risks that may arise from the use of AI. Accordingly, Foreign countries recognize the need and importance of AI regulation and are focusing on developing related policies and regulations. This movement is also happening in Korea, and AI regulations have not been specified, so it is necessary to compare and analyze existing policy proposals or guidelines to derive common factors and identify complementary points, and discuss the direction of domestic AI regulation. In this paper, we investigate AI security risks that may arise in the AI life cycle and derive six points to be considered in establishing domestic AI regulations through analysis of each risk. Based on this, we analyze AI policy proposals and recommendations in Korea and validate additional issues. In addition, based on a review of the main content of AI laws in the US and EU and the analysis of this paper, we propose measures to improve domestic guidelines and policies in the field of AI.

The Effect of Major Choice Motivation and Academic Achievement on Career Maturity (전공선택동기와 학업성취도가 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to determine the relationship between college students' motivation for major selection (personal motivation, social motivation), academic performance, and career maturity, and to identify the influencing factors of career maturity in order to provide basic data for improving career maturity. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 199 university students in C city. As a result of examining the correlation between personal motivation for major selection, social motivation, academic achievement, and career maturity, career maturity showed a significant positive correlation with personal motivation for major selection (r=.417, p=.00) and no significant correlation with social motivation for major selection and academic achievement. The influencing factors of career maturity were personal motivation for major selection, economic activity, and major department, and the explanatory power was 24%. Therefore, it seems that university-level support is needed to enable students to engage in economic activities in fields related to their majors. Since personal motivation is important in major selection, we should focus on increasing personal motivation for major selection by providing high school students with a wide range of opportunities, such as career experience and future work experience.

  • 최근 각 기업의 AI 면접시스템 도입이 증가하고 있으며, AI 면접에 대한 실효성 논란 또한 많은 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 AI 면접 과정에서 지원자를 평가하는 방식을 시각, 음성, 자연어처리 3영역에서 구현함으로써, 면접 지원자를 다방면으로 분석 방법론의 적절성에 대해 평가하고자 한다. 첫째, 시각적 측면에서, 면접 지원자의 감정을 인식하기 위해, 합성곱 신경망(CNN) 기법을 활용해, 지원자 얼굴에서 6가지 감정을 인식했으며, 지원자가 카메라를 응시하고 있는지를 시계열로 도출하였다. 이를 통해 지원자가 면접에 임하는 태도와 특히 얼굴에서 드러나는 감정을 분석하는 데 주력했다. 둘째, 시각적 효과만으로 면접자의 태도를 파악하는 데 한계가 있기 때문에, 지원자 음성을 주파수로 환산해 특성을 추출하고, Bidirectional LSTM을 활용해 훈련해 지원자 음성에 따른 6가지 감정을 추출했다. 셋째, 지원자의 발언 내용과 관련해 맥락적 의미를 파악해 지원자의 상태를 파악하기 위해, 음성을 STT(Speech-to-Text) 기법을 이용하여 텍스트로 변환하고, 사용 단어의 빈도를 분석하여 지원자의 언어 습관을 파악했다. 이와 함께, 지원자의 발언 내용에 대한 감정 분석을 위해 KoBERT 모델을 적용했으며, 지원자의 성격, 태도, 직무에 대한 이해도를 파악하기 위해 객관적인 평가지표를 제작하여 적용했다. 논문의 분석 결과 AI 면접의 다면적 평가시스템의 적절성과 관련해, 시각화 부분에서는 상당 부분 정확도가 객관적으로 입증되었다고 판단된다. 음성에서 감정분석 분야는 면접자가 제한된 시간에 모든 유형의 감정을 드러내지 않고, 또 유사한 톤의 말이 진행되다 보니 특정 감정을 나타내는 주파수가 다소 집중되는 현상이 나타났다. 마지막으로 자연어처리 영역은 면접자의 발언에서 나오는 말투, 특정 단어의 빈도수를 넘어, 전체적인 맥락과 느낌을 이해할 수 있는 자연어처리 분석모델의 필요성이 더욱 커졌음을 판단했다.

An Exploratory Study on Organizational Smart Learning Success from an HRD Perspective (HRD 관점에서 기업의 스마트 러닝 성공을 위한 탐색적 연구)

  • The advancement of digital technology and the impact of COVID-19 have brought about changes in corporate innovation and organizational culture, thereby highlighting the significance of Smart Learning in the field of HRD (Human Resource Development). This trend has led to an increased interest in personalized Smart Learning among employees due to the growth of hybrid work and the widespread adoption of smart work practices. This study aimed to illuminate the relative importance of the factors that constitute Smart Learning from the perspective of HRD practitioners. Through a review of prior literature, Smart Learning hierarchy and factors most fitting to the current context were identified, and their relative importance was determined using the AHP method. Consequently, in the first-tier factors, importance was confirmed in the order of 'Learning Activities', 'Teaching Activities', 'Learning Content', 'Assessment and Evaluations', and 'Learning Time and Space'. At the second-tier encompassing all factors, 'Pedagogical Strategy', 'Learning Results', 'Learning Tasks', 'Learning Goal', and 'Learning Support' emerged within the top five factors. These findings are significant in that they redefine the concept of smart learning and propose an academic framework for future research. Additionally, from a practical perspective, it is anticipated that this study will contribute valuable insights for HRD practitioners, aiding them in focusing on which factors to prioritize for enhancing and advancing Smart Learning initiatives.

History of Disease Control of Korean Ginseng over the Past 50 Years (과거 50년간 고려인삼 병 방제 변천사)

  • In the 1970s and 1980s, during the nascent phase of ginseng disease research, efforts concentrated on isolating and identifying pathogens. Subsequently, their physiological ecology and pathogenesis characteristics were scrutinized. This led to the establishment of a comprehensive control approach for safeguarding major aerial part diseases like Alternaria blight, anthracnose, and Phytophthora blight, along with underground part diseases such as Rhizoctonia seedling damping-off, Pythium seedling damping-off, and Sclerotinia white rot. In the 1980s, the sunshade was changed from traditional rice straw to polyethylene (PE) net. From 1987 to 1989, focused research aimed at enhancing disease control methods. Notably, the introduction of a four-layer woven P.E. light-shading net minimized rainwater leakage, curbing Alternaria blight occurrence. Since 1990, identification of the bacterial soft stem rot pathogen facilitated the establishment of a flower stem removal method to mitigate outbreaks. Concurrently, efforts were directed towards identifying root rot pathogens causing continuous crop failure, employing soil fumigation and filling methods for sustainable crop land use. In 2000, adapting to rapid climate changes became imperative, prompting modifications and supplements to control methods. New approaches were devised, including a crop protection agent method for Alternaria stem blight triggered by excessive rainfall during sprouting and a control method for gray mold disease. A comprehensive plan to enhance control methods for Rhizoctonia seedling damping-off and Rhizoctonia damping-off was also devised. Over the past 50 years, the initial emphasis was on understanding the causes and control of ginseng diseases, followed by refining established control methods. Drawing on these findings, future ginseng cultivation and disease control methods should be innovatively developed to proactively address evolving factors such as climate fluctuations, diminishing cultivation areas, escalating labor costs, and heightened consumer safety awareness.

Analysis of Cosmetics Research and Development Trends based on National Research and Development Projects (국가 연구개발(R&D) 과제 기반 화장품 연구개발 동향 분석)

  • This study aimed to scrutinize the evolution of cosmetics research and development (R&D) in Korea, utilizing data from nationally funded R&D projects, and to suggest strategies to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). A thorough analysis was performed on cosmetics-related national R&D funded project data from 2019 to 2023, a comprehensive analysis was conducted on annual trends, key organization, regional characteristics, major departments, and main functions and efficacy of R&D. The features revealed that the cosmetics industry, predominantly comprised of SMEs, is directing its efforts towards the development of a diverse range of functional products, with a recent shift towards the production of eco-friendly and sustainable materials. From a regional perspective, Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheongbuk-do had the highest levels of R&D activities, demonstrating the significant R&D capabilities of these local industry. It provides a systematic comprehensive analysis based on national R&D funded project data, identifies recent trends in the cosmetics industry, and evidence for SMEs to strengthen market competitiveness and establish long-term strategies for sustainable growth. Therefore, the results of this study dispense significant information and insights not only to SMEs but also to policymakers, using critical foundational data for formulating and implementing policies to advance the cosmetics industry.

The Effect of Accumulation of Product Review Information on the Rating of Online Shopping Mall Products (구매후기 정보 누적이 온라인 쇼핑몰 제품의 평점에 미치는 영향)

  • This study derived an effective way to expose information on product reviews by analyzing how the accumulation of information on reviews of online shopping malls, which are receiving a lot of attention amid the rapid increase in non-face-to-face transactions with small and medium-sized venture companies with insufficient resources, affects product review ratings. Hypotheses were derived based on the main theory of behavioral economics and the theory of consumer expectation inconsistency, and for empirical research, the effect of the accumulation of information on product reviews were analyzed from a short and long-term perspective using Amazon's product reviews and seller information big data. For the empirical study, 9,092,480 reviews written for 378,411 products of Amazon were used, and the hypotheses were verified through hierarchical regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the average rating decreased as the number of reviews increased. It was found that the product with a large number of recent reviews had a high rating. The characteristics of the product showed a moderating effect on these effects. This study will provide a new theoretical basis for research related to product review, and will help small and medium-sized venture companies that focus on sales through online shopping malls due to lack of resources to increase sales performance by appropriately utilizing review information. It will also provide empirical insights into effective product review information exposure measures for online shopping mall managers.

『Chūn-qiū』Wáng-lì(『春秋』王曆)① - A Study on the Discussion of 'the Changes in the Names of Months and a Season(改月改時)' in the calendar of 『Chūn-qiū(春秋)』 since Song(宋) Dynasty (『춘추(春秋)』왕력(王曆)① - 송대(宋代) 이후 춘추력수(春秋曆數)의 개월(改月)·개시(改時) 논의에 대한 소고(小考))

  • In the scriptures of "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$(春秋)", the expression method of '$Ch{\bar{u}}n-w{\acute{a}}ng-zh{\bar{e}}ng-yu{\grave{e}}$(春王正月 : It's spring. It's the first month regulated by the king.)' was used as Jì-yuè-fǎ(紀月法 : the rules to determine the first month(正月)), the month of winter solstice was regarded as the first month of a year, and three years since then were named as $Ch{\bar{u}}n$(春 : spring). With regard to this "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$"Wáng-lì("春秋"王曆 : the calendar regulated by the king of $Zh{\bar{o}}u$(周) dynasty in "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$"), depending on whether Confucius(孔子) changed and recorded the names of the months and the season or not, there were three different arguments; the theory that 'Confucius changed the names of both the months and the season'(孔子改月 改時說), the view that 'Confucius changed the name of the season, not the names of the months'(孔子不改月 改時說), and then the theory that 'Confucius changed neither the names of the months nor the name of the season'(孔子不改月 不改時) since Song(宋) dynasty. The first view was taken by $Hh{\acute{u}}-{\bar{a}}n-gu{\acute{o}}$(胡安國) and $C{\grave{a}}i-ch{\acute{e}}n$(蔡沈), and the second theory was mentioned by Chéng-yí(程?) and Zhū-zǐ(朱子). The advocates of the third view had become remarkable since Ming(明) dynasty, and one of representatives was Wàng-yáng-míng(王陽明). All of them based their arguments on ancient scriptures and Confucian legal books, and there were cases of taking the same records as the support for different opinions. Confucius' so-called 'Chūn-qiū-bǐ-fǎ(春秋筆法 : the method to describe historical facts by making clear discrimination between right and wrong)' and '$Sh{\grave{u}}-{\acute{e}}r-b{\grave{u}}-zu{\grave{o}}$(述而不作 : the attitude to succeed virtuous men's achievements and only explain and describe them not creating and adding new contents)' could come from thoughts of $Z{\bar{u}}n-w{\acute{a}}ng$(尊王 : to respect the king with the virtues of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and sincerity). Therefore, even though Confucius is assumed to have been the writer of "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$(春秋)", whether he actually changed and recorded the names of the months and the season in the calendar used in "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$" is doubtful. These theories on Confucius's intervention in the calendar of "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$" hadn't been discussed as conflicting in reality until Tang(唐) dynasty.
