The aim of study intends to investigate effect of weight of fire-protective clothing for physical balance and agility after maximum physical activity and to provide the base data for the safety of firefighter. For evaluation of static and dynamic-balance, the closed-eyes foot balance and the beam-walking were performed respectively. For evaluation of static and dynamic-agility, the whole body reaction and the side-step were carried out. This study demonstrates that after maximum physical activity, the weight of fire-protective clothing effects on physical static-balance and dynamic-agility and suggests that it could be useful for actual safety field studies of firefighters.
The purpose of this study was to determined the effects of music rope skipping exercise on dynamic, static balance, and body compositions in intellectual disabilities men. The subjects were twenty men who were randomly devide into two groups (exercise group, n=10, and non-exercise group, n=10). The subjects done the music rope skipping exercise three times per week for 60 minutes each time for 12 weeks. As a results, there were significantly improved the dynamic and static balance abilities after music rope skipping exercise for 12 weeks. Also, There were significant differences in body weight and percent of body fat after the exercise program. Accordingly, It was effective improved on body balance abilities and body compositions after music rope skipping for 12 weeks in intellectual disabilities men.
The purpose of this study was to determined the converge effects of Kaatsu treatment on body compositions, physical fitness and dynamic and static balance during unmilled rice dumbbell exercise in older women. They are divided into three groups(Kaatsu treatment+exercise, n=12, non-Kaatsu treatment+exercise, n=11, Control, n=12). In this study, there were a no significant differences on body weight and lean body mass and body mass index between the group, but there was a significant differences on percent of body fat between the group(P<.001). There was a significant differences on left grip strength between the group, and significant differences on flexibility and agility after the unmilled rice dumbbell exercise training. There were a significant differences on the dynamic and static balance between the group after the unmilled rice dumbbell exercise training(respectively P<.001, P<.05).
In this work, the solid-liquid equilibria (SLE) of some aromatic organic mixtures including benzene, widely used as an industrial solvent, were measured by static method using our own made experimental apparatus. The accuracy and reproducibility of apparatus were tested by comparing experimental results with literature values for 1-dodecanol+cyclohxane and benzene + p-xylene systems. The SLE for new binary systems of benzene+aniline, benzene+nitrobenzene, p-xylene+cyclohexane were measured afterwards and compared with the calculated values by modified UNIFAC(Dortmund) equation.

The simplified plate theory is presented for static and free vibration analysis of power-law(P) and sigmoid(S) Functionally Graded Materials(FGM) plates. This theory considers the parabolic distribution of the transverse shear stress, and satisfies the condition that requires the transverse shear stress to be zero on the upper and lower surfaces of the plate, without the shear correction factor. The simplified plate theory uses only four unknown variables and shares strong similarities with classical plate theory(CPT) in many aspects such as stress-resultant expressions, equation of motion and boundary conditions. The material properties of the plate are assumed to vary according to the power-law and sigmoid distributions of the volume fractions of the constituents. The Hamilton's principle is used to derive the equations of motion and Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundation model is employed. The results of static and dynamic responses for a simply supported FGM plate are calculated and a comparative analysis is carried out. The results of the comparative analysis with the solutions of references show relevant and accurate results for static and free vibration problems of FGM plates. Analytical solutions for the static and free vibration problems are presented so as to reveal the effects of the power law index, elastic foundation parameter, and side-to-thickness ratio.
The aim of study intends to investigate effect of All-out condition on physical balance, agility and power and to provide the base data for the safety of firefighter. The results of the study are as follows. For power estimation, the sargent jump is $41.0{\pm}3.2cm$ before estimation and $42.2{\pm}6.02cm$ after estimation as All-out condition. For static balance estimation, the closed-eyes foot balance is $40.3{\pm}36.8$sec before estimation and $27.5{\pm}27.18$sec after estimation. For dynamic balance estimation, the beam walking is $6.2{\pm}1.22$sec before estimation and $6.4{\pm}1.57$sec after estimation. The results are statistically significant. For agility estimation, the side step is $40.3{\pm}3.40$rep/20sec before estimation and $43.3{\pm}2.50$rep/20sec after estimation. The results are statistically significant. The wholebody reaction time is $0.21{\pm}0.05$sec before estimation and $0.18{\pm}0.02$sec after estimation.
The seismic slope stability is most often evaluated by the pseudo-static limit analysis, in which the earthquake loading is simplified as static inertial loads acting in horizontal and/or vertical directions. The transient loading is represented by constant acceleration via the pseudostatic coefficients. The result of a pseudostatic analysis is governed by the selection of the value of the pseudostatic coefficient. However, selection of the value is very difficult and often done in an ad hoc manner without a sound physical reasoning. In addition, the maximum acceleration is commonly estimated from the design guideline, which cannot accurately estimate the dynamic response of a slope. There is a need to perform a 2D dynamic analysis to properly define the dynamic response characteristics. This paper develops a new hybrid pseudostatic method that links the modified one-dimensional seismic site response analysis and the pseudostatic algorithm. The modified site response analysis adjusts the density of the layers to simulate the change in mass and weight of the layers of the slope with depth. Multiple analyses were performed at various locations within the slope to estimate the change in seismic response of the slope. The calculated peak acceleration profiles with depth from the developed procedure were compared to those by the two-dimensional analyses. Comparisons show that the two methods result in remarkable match. The calculated profiles are used to perform pseudostatic analysis. The results show that use of peak or a fraction of acceleration at the surface can seriously underestimate or overestimate the factor of safety, and that the proposed procedure significantly enhances the reliability of a standard procedure.
To study how stable the rubble mound breakwaters are, one can look to the research of wave induced seepage flow through the pores of the rubble mound. Seepage flow is generally generated by the difference between the water level around the breakwater during a typhoon. The existing stability analysis method of the rubble mound is the static analysis which simply considers the force equilibrium taking into account the horizontal force acting on the concrete block induced by a wave (calculated by Goda equation) and the vertical force induced by the weight inclusive of the concrete block, quarry run, filter, and armor layer above the slipping plane. However, this static method does not consider the wave-induced seepage flow in the rubble mound. Such seepage may decrease the stability of the rubble mound. The stability of a rubble mound breakwater under the action of seepage was studied based on the results of CFD software (OpenFOAM) and Limit Equilibrium Method (GeoStudio). The numerical analysis result showed that the seepage flow decreased the stability of the rubble mound breakwaters. The results of the numerical analyses also revealed the stability of the rubble mound was varied with time. Especially, the most critical state happened at the condition of overtopping the concrete block, acting strong uplift pressure raising along side and underneath the concrete block, and generating high pore pressure inside rubble mound due to seepage flow. Therefore, it may be necessary to conduct a dynamic analysis considering the effect of wave-induce seepage flow together with the static analysis.
Static performance of quadrilateral plate elements was compared through numerical experiments. Sixteen plate elements were selected for comparison from the literature, which were displacement elements, equilibrium elements, mixed elements or hybrid elements based on the Kirchhoff theory or the Mindlin theory. Thin plate bending problems, such as square plate problems, rhombic plate problems, circular plate problems and cantilevered plate problems, were modeled by various meshes and solved under various kinds of boundary conditions. Kirchhoff elements were not so good as Mindlin elements in view of efficiency and convergence. Hinton's elements resulted in the best results for the problems considered with respect to efficiency, convergence and reliability but in some problems they also resulted in more or less inaccurate solutions.

A numerical method of the CSF(Continuum Surface Force) model is presented for the calculation of the surface tension force and implemented in an in-house solution code(PowerCFD). The present method(code) employs an unstructured cell-centered method based on a conservative pressure-based finite-volume method with volume capturing method(CICSAM) in a volume of fluid(VOF) scheme for phase interface capturing. The application of the present method to a 2-D liquid drop problem is illustrated by an equilibrium and nonequilibrium oscillating drop calculation. It is found that the present method simulates efficiently and accurately surface tension-dominant multiphase flows.
