A Content Analysis of Research Data Management Training Programs at the University Libraries in North America: Focusing on Data Literacy Competencies (북미 대학도서관 연구데이터 관리 교육 프로그램 내용 분석: 데이터 리터러시 세부 역량을 중심으로)

  • This study aimed to analyze the content of Records Data Management (RDM) training programs provided by 51 out of 121 university libraries in North America that implemented RDM services, and to provide implications from the results. For the content analysis, 317 titles of classroom training programs and 42 headings at the highest level from the tables of content of online tutorials were collected and coded based on 12 data literacy competencies identified from previous studies. Among classroom training programs, those regarding data processing and analysis competency were offered the most. The highest number of the libraries provided classroom training programs in relation to data management and organization competency. The third most classroom training programs dealt with data visualization and representation competency. However, each of the remaining 9 competencies was covered by only a few classroom training programs, and this implied that classroom training programs focused on the particular data literacy competencies. There were five university libraries that developed and provided their own online tutorials. The analysis of the headings showed that the competencies of data preservation, ethics and data citation, and data management and organization were mainly covered and the difference existed in the competencies stressed by the classroom training programs. For effective RDM training program, it is necessary to understand and support the education of data literacy competencies that researchers need to draw research results, in addition to competencies that university librarians traditionally have taught and emphasized. It is also needed to develop educational resources that support continuing education for the librarians involved in RDM services.

Interpretation and application of information processing competency as mathematical competency: A case of middle school mathematics textbooks under the 2015 revised curriculum (수학과 교과역량으로서의 정보처리 능력의 해석과 적용: 2015 개정 중학교 수학 교과서를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to examine how information processing competency as one of the mathematical competencies has been interpreted and applied in mathematics education by analyzing tasks in middle school mathematics textbooks under the 2015 revised national curriculum. Based on the sub-elements of information processing competency organized by Park et al.(2015), we analyzed 191 tasks in 30 different middle school mathematics textbooks using descriptive statistics and ANOVA. Also, we investigated the meaning of information processing competency embedded in the tasks by distinguishing the characteristics of several different types of tasks. The results from this study showed that the number of tasks related to information processing competency in mathematics textbooks was too small and there was a huge difference across the textbooks in terms of the sub-elements. Even though there were four sub-elements of information processing competency, 'the use of manipulative and technological tools' was extremely dominant in the tasks in general. Even many of them used technology and manipulatives superficially. Furthermore, any textbook did not provide tasks dealing with all the four sub-elements. Such an unbalanced and fragmented approach to information processing competency could produce biased knowledge and insufficient experiences for information processing competency. It calls for further investigation and discussion about how to improve information processing competency in school mathematics.

Utilizing ChatGPT for Mathematics Lesson Planning: An Analysis of Prospective Mathematics Teachers' Experiences (수학 수업 계획을 위한 ChatGPT 활용: 예비수학교사들의 경험 분석)

  • 본 연구는 예비수학교사들의 정보처리 역량 함양 차원에서 ChatGPT와 같은 쌍방향 대화형 인공지능 도구를 활용하여 수학 수업을 설계하고 실행할 수 있는 가능성을 탐구하기 위해 55명의 사범대 수학교육과 예비수학교사들이 수업 설계 및 실연 과정에서 ChatGPT를 어떻게 활용했는지 그 경험을 조사하고 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 예비수학교사들은 ChatGPT를 수업 자료나 온라인 수학도구 검색, 수학 개념 탐구 학습 활동 구성, 수학적 원리를 가르치는 방법과 같은 과정·기능 범주 정보 수집에 가장 많이 활용하였고, 다음으로 실생활 연관 활동 탐색과 같은 가치·이해 범주에 활용하였다. 그러나 지식·이해 범주에 해당되는 수학적 지식이나 문제해결 방법에 관해서는 앞의 두 범주와 비교했을 때 상대적으로 낮은 비율로 ChatGPT를 활용한 것으로 나타났다. 예비수학교사들은 과정·기능 범주에 속한 교수-학습 설계 활동 구상을 ChatGPT에게 의존하는 경향이 많고 그 정보를 비판적 평가와 재구성 없이 수업에 바로 적용하는 경향이 발견되었다. ChatGPT의 수학적 정보 정확성에 대한 신뢰 문제도 이 연구에서 제기되었다.

A Study on Development of the Digital Competence Measurement Tool for University Student

  • In this paper, we propose to develop a diagnosis tool for measuring digital competence for university student. To this end, 223 students participated for the survey research. Based on the survey by 6 domain and 40 questions, 6 factors and 18 questions for digital competence measurement were drawn throughout the factors analysis. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed the fact that 6 factors and 18 questions that satisfied the model-fit indexes statistically were finally confirmed. And the developed tool demonstrated good results in reliability and validity verification, which were suitable for measuring digital competence for university students. The developed measurement tool of digital competence for university students consisted of 6 sub-components such digital device operation, communication and collaboration, information searching, processing, and management, problem solving and learning, security, digital ethics. The digital competence measuring tool developed in this study is expected to be used to identify the current level of competences for university student, and to enhance their own digital competences through educational supports.

  • Currently many central administrative agencies, municipalities and public and private institutions operate Managed security services to cope with cyber security incidents. These entities exert efforts in operating efficiencies rather than introduction of services as they used to. Accordingly, quite a few policies, directions and guidelines have been established for stable operation of Managed security services. Still, Managed security is operated by individuals, whose competencies influence the quality of Managed security services to a great extent. In this respect, the present article examines Managed security technology and methods and describes evaluation methods and examples relevant to human competencies, so as to seek for some potential courses for further development as well as more efficient approaches to human resource management in terms of institutional Managed security services.

The Effects of Scientific Inquiry Class Using Data Measured with Digital Inquiry Tools on Elementary School Students' Competencies (디지털 탐구도구로 측정한 데이터를 활용하는 과학 탐구 수업이 초등학생의 역량에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of elementary school students' knowledge and information processing competence and collaborative problem-solving ability in scientific inquiry class using data measured with digital inquiry tools. To this end, three classes of 5th grade elementary schools in S-city, Gyeongnam were selected as experimental groups and three classes as control groups. The control group conducted traditional lecture-style classes, and the experimental group conducted scientific inquiry classes using scientific data. The following results were obtained through questionnaires after class. First, science inquiry classes using scientific data helped elementary school students improve their knowledge and information processing competence. Second, scientific inquiry classes using scientific data improved elementary school students' cooperative problem-solving ability. From the above results, it was found that scientific inquiry classes using scientific data are needed to improve the knowledge information processing competence and cooperative problem solving ability of elementary school students. Based on this research, it is necessary to study a specific teaching and learning environment that can activate scientific inquiry class using data measured with digital inquiry tools in the future.

  • We proposed a curriculum that can learn the principle of blockchain by using the gamification which can bring up the interest and concentration of the students by connecting the contents of the class with the game. The proposed method is to educate the blockchain in a game format and to solve the problem that can be easily accessed in everyday life by applying the blockchain. By strengthening the thinking ability of computing, By growing information processing capacity, communication capacity, and community capacity, students can naturally enhance their education capacity. It is expected that the blockchain curriculum using the proposed gamification can be used to improve the information curriculum.

  • 이번 글로벌 IT 대란에서 국내 금융 및 공공 분야는 '망 분리' 규제 덕분에 피해가 미미했으나, 클라우드 확산이 가속화되면서 향후 이러한 보호가 약화 될 가능성이 있다. 클라우드 도입이 불가피한 상황에서 서비스 제공자와 고객 간의 분쟁 예방 및 해결 방안 마련이 필수적이다. 이번 사태는 규제 강화보다는 사이버 공급망 위협에 대한 선제적 대응과 IT 역량 강화를 위한 기회로 삼아야 한다.

A study on literature review of mathematical modeling in mathematical competencies perspective (수학 교과 역량 관점에서의 수학적 모델링에 관한 선행 연구 탐색)

  • The animated discussion about mathematical modeling that had studied consistently in Korea since 1990s has flourished, because mathematical modeling was involved in the teaching-learning method to improve problem solving competency on 2015 reformed mathematics curriculum. In an attempt to re-examine the educational value and necessity of application to school education field, this study was to review the literature of mathematical modeling in mathematical competencies perspective. As a result, mathematical modeling could not only be involved the components of problem solving competency, but also support other competencies; reasoning, creativity-amalgamation, data-processing, communication, and attitude -practice. In this regard, This paper suggested the necessity of the discussion about the position of mathematical modeling in mathematical competencies and the active use of mathematical modeling tasks in mathematics textbook or school classes.

  • 공학적 기반에 의한 소프트웨어 품질 개선에 대한 노력은 역량 성숙도 모델(CMM)에서 특정 프로세스가 정확하게 정의되고, 관리되고, 측정되고, 통제되고, 효과적이게 될 수 있는 방향으로 진행되고 있다. 또한 소프트웨어 엔지니어링 분야에 국한되지 않고 시스템, 인력 분야 등에서의 다양한 역량 성숙도 모델을 바탕으로 프로세스 개선이 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 이는 중복성 등 관리상의 문제가 발생하여 이를 통합(CMMI)하려는 연구가 이루어졌다. 이에 게임 개발 프로젝트의 CMMI 적용 방안을 모색하고 기대되는 개선효과를 논한다.
