Survey Design of the Workplace Panel Survey in Korea (사업체패널조사의 조사설계)

  • Workplace Panel Survey(WPS) is the representative panel survey of workplace in Korea. WPS was newly sampled in 2005 and is to be used for the subsequent biennial survey. The main survey is divided into a questionnaire for human resources(HR) manager, a questionnaire for labor relations manager and a questionnaire for representatives of unions. The population of WPS 2005 included workplaces across the country with 30 or more employees. The WPS 2005 was composed of 1,905 workplaces including 290 workplaces in the public sector. The sample was selected by the stratified random sampling. Weighting process for the survey data was introduced to compensate for differential sampling and non-response rates. Personal interviews were conducted using the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing(CAPI) system during visits by interviewers, along with survey via mail and e-mail concerning employment and financial issues. The CPAI system introduced for the WPS 2005 can by used for automatical detection for errors and inconsistencies which may occur during the survey process. The CAPI system played an important part in enhancing the reliability of the survey data.

  • 용수 다소비 산업으로 분류되는 제지공업의 특성 상, 용수사용의 억제 및 용수의 무방류화에 대한 압력이 증가되고 있는 반면, 초지환경은 날로 열악해지고 있는 실정이다. 한 예로써, 용지의 재활용율 및 재사용 비율이 증가함에 따라 원료의 저급화가 심 각한 수준에 이르고 있으며, 이러한 초지환경의 변화는 각질화되고 극도로 미세화된 다량의 미세섬유 발생 및 잡고지로부터 유입되는 점착성 이물질과 무기 충진제의 도입 등을 유발함으로서 제품의 물리적 성질 저하, 탈수부하 증가로 인한 생산성 저하, 약품사용량 증가 등을 초래하여, 결과적으로는 폐수처리장의 부하를 증대시킴과 동시에 청수사용량 및 폐수방류량을 증가시키는 악순환을 되풀이하게 된다. 국내 제지산업이 국제적 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해서는 제품의 증대가 필수적이나, 원료와 설비의존도를 감안할 때, 제품특성과 공정 분을 결정하는 습부공정을 정확히 파악하여 최적 운전조건을 확립하는 것이 가장 경제적이고 용이한 방법일 뿐만 아니라 전체 제지공정의 정정화에도 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 일정규모이상의 종이를 생산하는 제지공장은 거의 대부분 컴퓨터로 처리되는 온라인 공정조절 시스템(On-line process control system)을 구비하고 료의 도입에서부터 설비운전 및 제품의 기본적인 품질관리까지 실시간의 자동화되고 안정적인 운전과 관리시스템을 유지하고 있다. 그러나 전체 제지공정 중, 제품 물성과 운전조건의 대부분을 결정하는 습부공정만큼은 아직도 주기적인 분석이 행해지고 있지 않을 뿐만 아니라, 슬러리의 농도나 보류도 정도를 제이하면 분석항목 조차도 변변히 확립되어 있지 않을 실정이다. 이는 다량의 물 속에 존재하게 되는 용전물질(Dissolved solids, DS), 부유물질(Suspended solids, SS), 섬 유(Fibers), 무기 미 세분(Inorganic f fines), 그리고 투입되는 약품간에 발생하는 계면동전현상 및 이러한 현상과 최종 지제 품의 물성간의 상관관계에 대한 이해 정도나 경험 부족에서 기인하는 것으로 생각된다. 1 1983년 미국제지기술연합회(T APpI)의 제지용 첨가제 분과위원회(Papermaking A Additive Committee)에서는 습부공정의 적절한 조절을 위해 어떤 항목들이 필요하며 그 중요도는 어떠한가를 조사하였으며, 그 결과로 전하밀도, 제타전위, 보류도 및 여수 도, 무기 미세분 함량 등이 중요하다고 보고하였다. 그러나 지료의 전기적 특성을 실시 간으로 측정하는 기자재류가 최근에 이르러서야 도입되고 있는 실정이기 때문에 충분 한 현장적용 사례가 보고되지 못하고 있으며, 결과적으로 얻어진 정보와 최종 지제품의 물성 및 초지기 운전조건과의 상관관계를 확립하는 작업결과는 더욱 찾아보기 어렵다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는, 라이너지 제조공장의 습부공정에 투입되는 약품이 지료 의 전기적 성질, 즉 전하밀도와 제타전위에 미치는 영향을 모니터링함으로서 지료의 전기적 성질들과 습부 공정상태와의 상관관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 순서로 진행하였다.

  • The terrain features and surface characteristics are the most important elements not only in meteorological modeling but also in air quality modeling. The diurnal evolution of local climate over complex terrain may be significantly controlled by the ground irregularities. Such topographic features can affect a thermally driven flow, either directly by causing changes in the wind direction or indirectly, by inducing significant variations in the ground temperature. Over a complex terrain, these variations are due to the nonuniform distribution of solar radiation, which is highly determined by the ground geometrical characteristics, i.e. slope and orientation. Therefore, the accuracy of prediction of regional scale circulation is strong associated with the accuracy of land-use and topographic information in meso-scale circulation assessment. The objective of this work is a numerical simulation using MM5-A2C model with the detailed topography and land-use information as the surface boundary conditions of the air flow field in mountain regions. Meteorological conditions estimated by MM5-A2C command a great influence on the dispersion of mountain areas with the reasonable feature of topography where there is an important difference in orographic forcing.

Study on the determinants of employment duration in the youth-intern project (중소기업 청년인턴 취업자의 재직기간 분석)

  • In general, employment duration is influenced by the individual characteristics (level-1) as well as type of the occupational characteristics (level-2). That is, the data has hierarchical structure in the sense that individual employment duration is influenced by the individual-level variables (level-1) and the job-level (level-2) variables. In this paper, we study the determinants of the employment duration of youth-intern in the SMEs (small and medium enterprises) using Cox's mixed effect model. Major results at level-1 variables are as followings. First, the hazard rate of treatment group is lower than that of control group. Second, the hazard rate of woman is lower than that of man. Also, the hazard rate is lower, for the older and the workers working in the bigger company. Investigation of level-2 variables has shown that random effect for job-level is statistically significant.

The study on the relevance of healthy biorhythm and sub-health (생체리듬과 아건강과의 관련성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, with the development of advanced medical technology and the introduction of most advanced medical equipments, life expectancy increases accordingly. Many people want to live long-lived in health. Therefore, if it is possible to pre-diagnose the sub-health condition and formulate an appropriate treatment plan, we can prevent the disease and reduce social expenditure costs. In this study, we statistically analyzed the data in responding to each questionnaire for healthy biorhythm and sub-health among targeted members of a specific group. The analysis for the effects of healthy biorhythm to male and female showed that there was a significant difference between male and female. In the analysis of the effects of the conditions of healthy biorhythm to the 10 sub-health indicators, the significant effects of good and bad condition has been observed. The results of the decision tree analysis showed that all the respondents with poor hormone and urological sub-health status have bad healthy biorhythms. In summary, in this paper we have shown that it may be possible to improve the sub-health condition and prevent disease in advance if the healthy biorhythm is well controlled.

  • Objective : Commonly experienced as an occupational therapist to reveal the meaning of conflict, development by providing information on the quality of official development plan for therapists were willing to contribute. Method : In this study using Parse's human becoming method to collect and analyze data. Participants to understand purpose of the study's researchers and that can be spoken honestly their experience through dialogue were selected eight people as a clinical occupational therapist. Conversation period January-February 2012 was, at the time of about 30-40 minutes, Every conversation is more than three times for each participant were conducted. Result : Experience of occupational therapists, occupational therapy as a conflict of identity confusion and lack of awareness, feeling that comes from a poor working environment and social life, mental conflict, payroll issues to worry about, but concerns about the treatment of the future with hope and effort in the process was an experience. However, external, internal conflicts despite the uneasy reality academic experience for self-development and growth, and the development towards a positive future was out over it. Conclusion : Away from the internal and external conflicts therapists, occupational therapy and establish the identity of satisfaction and quality of care for the treatment to improve their physical and social environment, continuous improvement is necessary.

Calculation Model for Function & Cost Score based on Normalization Method in Design VE (정규화 기법 기반의 설계VE 기능 및 비용 점수 산출 모델)

  • VE aims at reduction in a budget, improvement of function, structural safety and quality security for public construction projects. However, there is possibility for the structural safety and quality security review to be insufficient because related regulations are mostly composed of analysis on economic efficiency of design. In addition, due to the misconception about VE as a cost saving methodology, an alternative is being presented which still focuses mainly on cost saving, but with no objective evaluation of function related to cost. In order to improve this, the government adopted the reduction of life cycle cost and proposal of value improvement, and let people specify the cost and function of the original plan versus the alternative plan, and the value changes between them. However, it is written mainly into practical convenience rather than theoretical basis since a specific way is not suggested. The current method sets a different starting point by applying the attributional difference of function and cost. Furthermore, an evaluation standard for correlating is an important element in rational decision making for assessing and choosing an alternative. This paper analyzes the process and method of function & cost scoring when performing VE and suggests a mathematical normalization model in order to support rational decision making when selecting an optimum plan.

The Effects of the Utilization of External Resources on the Technological Innovation Performance Along the Stages of Growth in Korean Ventures (준고령자의 직업능력개발훈련 실태 및 욕구특성에 관한 연구 - 직업군인 전역자를 중심으로-)

  • This study empirically analyzed how technological innovation performance of venture business is affected by utilization of external resources, especially utilization of external cooperative network, government's policy funds and venture capital funds, using '2008 Venture Business Investigation'. This study further analyzed how the effect of utilization of external resources on technological innovation performance varies according to growth stage. Analysis results show that all variables related to utilization of external resources, i.e. external cooperative network, government's policy funds and venture capital funds, were observed as affecting positively to technological innovation performance. However, adjustment effect was not observed as statistically meaningful according to growth stage of venture business. Further analysis just observed that the effect on technological innovation performance at each growth stage varies according to type of utilization of external resources.

Report of Present Status of Calibration for Domestic Radiation Measurements Instruments (국내 방사선 측정장비 보유 현황 및 교정 현황 조사)

  • Periodical calibrations of radiation detectors are important for accurate quality assurance of therapeutic linac. The measuring instruments such as ion-chamber, thermometer, barometer, and survey meter should be calibrated periodically. Period of calibration for these instruments is suggested 6 month to one year in Korea and two years in other countries nowadays. Therefore, the determination of reasonable period for calibration is needed. In this study, we plan to utilize the results of these survey; frequent in use, how to use and stability of instruments, to determine the optimized period of calibration for the instruments in the departments of radiation oncology in Korea based on the ILAC-G24. The SurveyMonkey web-based survey tool was used and the objects of survey were 18 department of radiation oncology in university hospitals, and 15 departments were answered. The 64 questionnaires which supposed to be answered in 50 minutes were classified as the information of candidates, the thermometer, the barometer, the surveymeter, and the ion-chamber. The thermometers and the barometers were not under periodical calibration for more than half of candidates. The periods of calibration of surveymeters were 6 month to 1 year. We expect that the calibration period can be determined based on these survey results.

Reproductive Aging in Female Rodents (암컷 설치류에서의 생식 노화)

  • In all female mammals, reproductive system is one of the first biological systems to show age-related decline. Female mammals in reproductive aging, though the phenomena is somewhat species-specific, start to show declining fertility and changes of numerous physiological functions. This review will present a current information on the aging of the female reproductive hormonal axis and introduce three useful rodent models for studying this field. Middle age($8{\sim}12$ months old) in female rats and mice is comparable to the stage prior to the entry of menopause in human. In this period pulsatile and surge GnRH secretion from hypothalamus gradually attenuated, then reduced pulsatile and surge LH secretion is followed consequently. This age-related defects in GnRH-LH neuroendocrine axis seem to be highly correlated with the defects in brain signals which modulate the activities of GnRH neuron. Many researchers support the idea which the age-related hypothalamic defects are the main cause of reproductive aging, but some ovarian factors such as inhibin response also could contribute to the induction of reproductive senescence. Some rodent models are quite valuable in studying the reproductive aging. The follitropin receptor knockout(FORKO) mice, both of null and haploinsufficient state, could produce depletion of oocyte/follicle with age. Dioxin/aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR) knockout mice also show severe ovarian defects and poor reproductive success early in their life compared to the age-matched normal mice. Further studies on the reproductive aging will be a great help to evaluate the benefits and risks of hormone replacement therapy(HRT) and to improve the safety of HRT.
