  • This study is aimed to analyze the impact of the perception of fairness on the relationship quality as a way to enhance the competitiveness through the establishment of a long-term relationship between food service franchisors and franchisees. An empirical analysis found that the more positively the fairness of franchisors is recognized, the more positive impact it has on the relationship quality. As both the distributive fairness and the procedural fairness, the two concepts of fairness, are perceived in a more positive manner, the trust and satisfaction over franchisers were found to be higher, with the conflict shown to be lower. Though both the distributive fairness and the procedural fairness showed a significant result, the procedural fairness, in particular, has a greater impact on the trust and satisfaction over franchisers than the distributive fairness. In addition, the quality of relationship between franchisor and franchisees has a positive impact on a long-term commitment. That is that as their trust and satisfaction over franchisors are higher with less conflict, franchisees will become more cooperative with their franchisors. The greatest impact on the long-term unity, among the factors that constitute the relationship quality, appeared to be trust. Accordingly, it is advisable persons in charge at franchisors place the greatest focus on fostering trust to establish a long-term relationship, inducing it in a positive direction. From such result, suggestions can be made in establishing a strategy for developing an appropriate relationship between food service franchisors and franchisees. Firstly, persons in charge at food service franchisors will have to induce the perception of franchisors' procedural fairness by franchisees in a positive direction in order to enhance the Quality of relationship with franchisees. Secondly, as an alternative strategy for forming a long-term relationship between franchisors and franchisees, the effort should be made to foster a greater trust in franchisors first. In many cases, franchisors currently focus more on their convenience in management than the development of systems to satisfy the franchisee needs. This contravenes with the essence of relationship marketing and thus, it can be said it is the most important of all that focus should be directed at trust and fairness in the effort toward a sustained relationship between franchisors and franchisees in the future.

Different from previous works, this study aims to analyze college students' perceptions of fairness of the current college admission system. This study used grounded theory and interviews from eleven students. Results of analysis are as follows. Causal condition proved to be frequent change in admission system happened in the course of diversifying admission criteria. The core phenomenon is fundamental unfairness in both procedural and substantive aspects of admission system. Contextual condition is information and infrastructure asymmetry among students which has a root in regional gap in Korea. Mediatory condition is advance of information technology and individual or group effort to overcome disadvantages. In conclusion, students consider that unfairness in college admission system reflects social structural problems that cannot be solved in a one-time prescription.

In the field of restaurant industry, training is very important for employees to foster this organizational culture as this industry has the environment of becoming abusive supervisor for the reason of supervisors' being exposed to lots of physical and psychological burden of works.

  • The objective of this study is to examine the relationship of organizational justice, project performance and internal and external PMO (Project Management Office) capability by conducting survey of IT project participants worked with PMO. This study was the first case which classifies PMO capability into internal and external by ownership of PMO. PLS-SEM analysis, which used for this study shows internal PMO capability connects with distributive justice and procedural justice, and directly related to project performance. By comparison, external PMO capability has relationship only with procedural justice, but never related to project performance. Furthermore, distributive justice and procedural Justice all have correlation with project performance. In general, capability of external professional consulting firms is utilized for the fairness and objectivity in spite of sufficient internal project management capability. However, the internal PMO capability has greater influence on procedural justice than external's (internal PMO capability > external PMO capability). Also, distributive justice and project performance have direct correlation only with the internal PMO capability. This paper will be an indicator of finding human capabilities which are necessary for internal and external PMO performance, and has great significance of laying a groundwork of project management strategy by PMO.

  • This study is about service failure and recovery. Prior studies of service failure and recovery encounters have been limited to descriptive research based primarily on retrospectiveti.e., memory-based) self-reports. This study uses a survey method and utilize a 2*2*2 experimental design with service recovery scenarios across two services. Manipulations included two levels of controllability, two levels of procedural justice and interactional justice, and two levels of distributive justice. Accordingly, this research examines how the controllability of service failure affect recovery satisfaction, and how these relations are moderated by the justice of service recovery. Conclusively, bi-dimension(outcome and process) constitutes the service recovery and this result supports the insistence that even dissatisfied customers can be satisfied through the service recovery efforts of the organization that once failed to meet the needs and expectation of customers.

  • This study was intended to examine the mediating roles of trust in CEO and supervisor on the relationships between organizational justice and employee behaviors. Data were collected from 4,055 employees across 18 different companies in Korea. Employees were asked to answer on a self-reported questionnaire. The two dimensions of organizational justice (i.e. procedural justice and distributive justice) were used. Employee behaviors were measured using counter-productive behavior and organizational citizenship behavior. Data were analyzed using a structural equation model. The hypothesized fully mediated model better fitted the data. Relative to distributive justice, procedural justice was more strongly related to both trust in CEO and trust in supervisor. But there were no significant differences in the degree of relationships between the two dimensions of trust and the two types of employee behaviors. These results showed that procedural justice is more important in enhancing trust in leader.

  • This study conducted a regression analysis on 312 local government officials in Gyeonggi-do to verify the hypothesis on the relationship between job autonomy and organizational citizenship behavior. Path analysis was conducted to analyze the mediating effect of organizational fairness recognition and the moderating effect of self-efficacy. Looking at the analysis results, first, it was confirmed that the higher the degree of job autonomy perceived by the members of the organization, the more positive (+) organizational citizenship behavior was. Second, the partial mediating effect of procedural justice was confirmed in the relationship between autonomy and organizational citizenship behavior. On the other hand, the mediating effect of distributional justice was rejected in the relationship between autonomy and organizational citizenship behavior. Third, self-efficacy controlled the mediating role between job autonomy and organizational citizenship behavior in recognition of procedural justice. Fourth, it was analyzed that self-efficacy plays a controlling role between job autonomy and organizational citizenship behavior. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of organizational behavior theory through preceding factors of organizational citizenship behavior to improve the organizational performance of local public officials.
