The railroad that represents modern industry began appearing in 1899. However, after the steam locomotive that provided water stopped the service, the water towers within the railroad station were useless. Suggestions presented in this study for activating the environment around the water towers that are designated as the cultural properties results are as followed: 1) The place where people can experience the vestiges of Korean War and the region that different novels accommodated. 2) A plaza 3) A facility for exhibition of industry inheritance and local products 4) A local landmark 5) Reproduction of the historical steam locomotive and water tower Local residents should participate in the activation process. And the designer should consider the environmental context. In addition, the activation of water towers should be designed under an urban plan.

This paper studied cooperation and reciprocity mechanism by analyzing game mechanics of MMORPG 'World of Warcraft: Classic'. MMORPG is the genre of game where social interaction vigorously occurs. This study figured out the structure of cooperation based on evolutionary psychology, anthropology and social psychology through participatory observation. Four cooperation and reciprocity mechanism were drawn through investigating game mechanics like instance dungeon, clear role setting, item, soulbind. In addition, this paper suggests providing ideas of making cooperation mechanism in the field of game design.

This paper aims to analyze success factors for the construction of Supdari(a traditional wooden bridge to connect small streams temporarily), which is a citizens' initiative project to revitalize local community in Jeonju-River, Jeonju City. Recently Supdari has been restored for the use of belongings in local festivals. But Jeonju-River Supdari was designed and built to unite local citizens and connect river-divided villages. This project shows how investing social capital like Supdari makes the community vitalize through citizen's active participation. As a citizen leading project, there were several critical factors for sucess. At first, there were some noticeable ways to encourage local citizen's participation in online and offline. In the online, the Supdari internet cafe introduced what is a Supdari, how to make it and where we build using various media of UCCs and photos. In the offline, the small scaled model of Supdari was made and exhibited in the entrance of the village and related several seminars were hosted to discuss how to construct Supdari with citizens, local assembly men and public officials together. The Second is the movement to restore traditional and cultural resources for the community recovery triggered the supports from local councils and many civic groups. Civic groups supported ecological and structural expertise to guarantee environment friendly and stable construction. And local councils mediated citizen's and administrative office's opinions. The third is flexible administrative management to help citizen's ideas to be realized. Officials extended setting period of Supdari on the condition with the civic-control safety management.

This study selects political and military decision factors of Participatory Government's Wartime Operational Control(OPCON) Transition and analyzes, both quantitatively and qualitatively, the effects and relations between those factors. Previous research utilizing the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) selected their decision factors based on academic data and field experience, requiring more objective analysis of the factors. For this study, we conducted a survey among security subject matter experts(SME) both online and offline. The results show that OPCON transition's decision factors were to 'recover military sovereignty', 'set the conditions for peaceful reunification' and 'improve ROK image through enhancing national power' which differs little from the previous AHP method studies. It also showed that 'recover military sovereignty' and 'set the conditions for peaceful reunification' had no relationship to each other and that the key factor that decided the OPCON Transition was actually 'recover military sovereignty' which represents the interest of the liberal party in ROK. This study finds its meaning by analyzing the decision factors of Participartory Government's OPCON Transition thorugh Delphi and DEMATEL method.

The purpose of this study was to examine the satisfaction level and behavioral intention of visitors in a health care and medical equipment fair in consideration of their benefits sought. The purpose is basically meant to identify the relationship of variables related to the satisfaction level of the visitors, their satisfaction level with benefits sought and behavioral intention to provide useful information to hosts of health care and medical equipment fairs and related people. The subjects in this study were 250 people who were selected from among the visitors in a health care and medical equipment fair in Wonju. After a survey was conducted, the collected data were analyzed by SPSS 14.0 and AMOS 16.0 programs, and descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis and structural equation modelling were utilized. The findings of the study were as follows: Benefits sought had a significant impact on satisfaction level and behavioral intention, and satisfaction level affected behavioral intention in a significant manner as well. So all the hypotheses formulated in the study were accepted, and those who hosted a health care and medical equipment fair should try to address the needs of participants in the light of their characteristics and provide appropriate event products and services to stir up their satisfaction level and behavioral intention.

Festival contents have played a role as a mediator that connects consumers and producers of the Festivals to express the purpose or theme of those. The successful quality factors to be successively sustainable excellent Festivals include ritual, experience, exhibition, sales, education, competitive, performance. In this study, Festival contents scales, that is named CONTSQUAL, being consisted of seven factors were drawn through the analysis of Cultural Tourism Festival 2012. Festival CONTSQUAL is ritual, experience, exhibition, sales, education, competitive, performance. The research sample is participants in the "Geumsan Insam Festival". Empirical analysis was carried out for visitors to verify the scales and research model. As a result, among festival CONTSQUAL, all components of qualities affected positively on Festival Flow but ritual and education. Festival flow affected positively on festival satisfaction while festival satisfaction affected positively on behavior intention. This study not only measured festival quality through the newly developed CONTSQUAL scales underlying sustainable competitive festival, but also built basic foundation for objectively assessing the festival contents quality, which would result in ensure successful local festival.

This study aimed at developing a set of question cards for fostering deep understanding and encouraging reasoning about fossils and analyze the characteristics of visitors' communication depending on whether to use the question cards in a fossil gallery. Through several steps, a card set consisted of nine generic questions about fossil exhibitions and guidance for using question cards were developed. Data related to visitors' communications were collected from 18 peer groups (from 5th to 9th grade) visiting the fossil gallery of Gwacheon National Science Museum. Visiting groups' interactions were videotape recorded and transcribed. 'Holding time,' the types of 'actions,' and the types of 'conversation' were analysed. Visitors' actions were divided into three categories: ‘look’, 'speech', and 'motion.' Furthermore, visitors' conversations categorized as 'speech' were subdivided into four patterns: 'enumerative,' 'consensual,' 'responsive,' and 'argumentative.' Using the question cards contributes to increase holding time and most of the visiting actions. Most of the conversation patterns also increased except the responsive pattern. In conclusion, using question cards in a fossil gallery could facilitate concentrated and meaningful visits by enhancing active verbal and non-verbal communications between exhibit and visitor or among visitors, encouraging visitors' reasoning about exhibits, and guiding visitors what and how to focus on exhibits.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the compositions and characteristics in cultural programs of the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. A research method was considered the developmental aspects of Cultural Olympics in all-time Olympic Games and the cases of Cultural Olympics in a host country through a documentary research method. The compositions and characteristics in cultural programs of the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games were diversely analyzed. The results are as follows. First, a concept of a cultural program was deepened and developed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. In the wake of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, IOC published the Cultural Olympic Guide. Through the 2012 London Olympics, the Cultural Olympic Guide was revised. Second, the cultural programs of the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games showed the characteristics of image change & status and of the international exchange strengthening in a host country and a holding city. Third, in terms of cultural programs, the 1988 Seoul Olympics comprised the celebrations, performances & exhibitions amid the Culture and Arts Festival, and the International Academic Conference. The 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games were composed of performances, exhibitions, festivals, humanities & experience, and educational events. Fourth, the 1988 Seoul Olympics included the key element of forming a program that equally has the characteristics with the harmony between tradition and modernity, with the promotion of the excellence in Korean traditional culture & the spread in a bond of sympathy, and with various cultures and arts in each region. Also, the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games pushed ahead with the strategy dubbed 'The Olympics in which there is culture day after day, in which provincial residents participate, and in which the cultural heritage is left' in order to systematically expedite the cultural Olympics.
