Among ninety six health related research papers published between 2000 and 2015, nine intervention researches were reviewed and analyzed. Among these researches, three were related to pregnancy and delivery and one was related to the prevention of infections in children and women's diseases respectively. Four researches provided information pertaining to the intervention and handling of mental and social or physical health issues, two researches pertained to only mental health and three researches covered only physical health. The researches related to physical health for married immigrant women needed to take into consideration various issues related to life span including child birth and child rearing. Also, researches that focused on social and mental health issues required additional planning to enhance relationships with others in addition to personal coping skills.

  • Purpose: Job satisfaction, spouse support, parenting stress, and the factors that influence parenting stress in female fire fighters with preschool-aged children were examined. Methods: Data were collected from 180 female fire fighters who worked at the fire station from June to July 2013 and had preschool-aged children. Data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 21.0. Results: Average job satisfaction was 2.81, spouse support was 3.54, and parenting stress was 3.61. Parenting stress was negatively correlated with spouse support and job satisfaction. Job satisfaction and spouse support were positively correlated. Factors influencing parenting stress included employment period (${\beta}$=0.093, p <.05), a husband who is not a fire fighter (${\beta}$=-8.971, p <.05), having three children (${\beta}$=27.395, p <.05), delegating childcare to relatives (${\beta}$=9.605, p <.05), income (${\beta}$=-0.920, p <.05), and spouse support (${\beta}$=-0.589, p <.05). Conclusion: To reduce parenting stress and increase job satisfaction, female fire fighters with preschool-aged children should be assigned to stable administrative work instead of stressful on-site work. Husbands who are fire fighters should take advantage of paternity leave, implemented by the Ministry of Public Safety and Security, to increase their active participation in parenting.

Methods: This study adopted van Manen's hermeneutic phenomenological method to qualitatively analyze data. The participants were 8 married North Korean women defectors. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations from July 4 to August 20, 2018. Results: Nine essential themes emerged: more personal challenges after overcoming a life-threatening crisis; hopes of firmly settling in this land; the wound from the north, which chased them here; a body that becomes stronger through hardship; being stuck in a past full of anxiety and pain; the present is full of hope; hope for the future; sense of alienation from coworkers that cannot be overcome; and sense of power to endure an exhausting work life. Conclusion: This study provided a broader understanding of the life and experiences of married women from North Korea. It highlights the need for nurses to recognize their importance in nursing care. The study also suggests that academic and practical approaches for nursing, and basic data for a nursing intervention for married women from North Korea be provided. The study findings can be used as a basis for preparing a national policy that will help North Korean defectors to find employment and gain stability.
