Data were collected from nurses working at five hospitals with more than 30 beds in Seoul and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using Jamovi(1.6.23) program. The final sample were made up of 247 participants. In the correlation analysis, work-life balance and turnover intention showed negative correlation. As a result of multiple regression analysis, work-grow balance affected as a meaningful influence factor on turnover intention. It is necessary to carefully examine the sub-factors of work-life balance in order to understand the impact on turnover intention of nurses. And, hospitals need to provide organizational support for nurses' growth and career development.

  • This study was conducted to investigate whether WGB (Work-Growth Balance), an area of WLB (Work-Life Balance) improves Interpersonal Harmony, Creative Effort and Innovative Behavior in the organization, and whether Interpersonal Harmony and Creative Efforts have indirect effects on the relationship between WGB and Innovative Behavior. To test the hypothesis of this study, PROCESS Macro by Hayes (2013) was used. The results showed that WGB, Interpersonal Harmony, and Creative Effort influenced Innovative Behavior and WGB were variables that influenced Interpersonal Harmony. The variables influencing Creative Effort turned out to be WGB and Interpersonal Harmony. The indirect effect of Interpersonal Harmony and Creative Efforts was also confirmed in the relationship between WGB and Innovative Behavior. In addition, the magnitude of the effect between parameters was examined through Process Macro analysis. It turned out that there is a synergy relationship between WGB, Interpersonal Harmony, Creative Efforts and Innovative Behaviors. In future, more researches on WGB among various industries as well as mediating variables are expected. Further research is needed to study the various parameters of WGB and innovation behavior, and to Balance of Work-Family and Balance of Work-Leisure.

  • The change in labor consciousness began to draw social attention to work-life balance (WLB). The WLB is one of the major factors affecting the health and safety problems of workers. Although shiftwork adversely affects WLB, safety, and health problems of workers, WLB of shift workers has received little empirical attention. The purpose of this study was to examine whether WLB mediates the relationship between shiftwork and shift worker's safety and health problems, participation in leisure activities moderates WLB, and finally, whether WLB moderated by participation in leisure activities mediates the relationship between shift work and shift worker's safety and health problems. For the study, the data of the 5th wave of Korean Working Condition Survey(KWCS) conducted by Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency(KOSHA) of South Korea was used. Conditional process analysis revealed that the relationship between shift work and worker's safety and health problems is mediated by WLB; however, participation in leisure activity showed no moderation effect on WLB. Therefore, the moderated mediation effect has failed to achieve statistical significance. The results indicate that working environment improvement in consideration of the WLB is needed to gain shift worker's long-term safety and health. The implications of this study and suggestions for future research were discussed.

Methods: The subjects of this study were 345 childcare teachers working at 45 childcare centers located in Gyeonggi-do. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis were performed using SPSS 21.0. Additionally, the mediating effect was verified using the PROCESS Macro, and bootstrapping was performed to confirm the significance of the indirect effect. Results: First, there was a significant negative correlation between the organizational health of childcare centers, the turnover intention of childcare teachers, and their work-life balance. Second, it was found that work-family balance completely mediated the relationship between the organizational health of childcare centers and the turnover intention of childcare teachers, while work-leisure balance and work-growth balance partially mediated the relationship between these two variables. Conclusion/Implications: This study provides essential data for examining ways to lower the turnover intention of childcare teachers by addressing both individual and organizational dimensions.

Finally, 6,262 time diaries of 3,131 households were included in the analysis. The study used sequence analysis in particular, by applying the Lesnard(2014)'s dynamic hamming matching (DHM) method, which is useful for the time diary analysis where timing is a key factor. This study explored daily schedules of each man and woman according to 9 types of couple-combined work-schedules, which had been already derived by cluster analysis. The daily schedules were identified according to the activities divided as labor, housework, sleep, self-management, active leisure, passive leisure, and others. Here, time allocation was analyzed through various graphs showing average time amount and modal states by time period. Based on the analysis, it summarized that "long working hours as a main factor of work-life imbalance", "gender inequality of time use", "non-standard hours work impairing quality of life and "poverty of leisure time"as characteristics of work-life imbalance. Finally this study discussed the social policy implications to support work-life balance.

  • Previous research on work and life balance mainly focused on workers' passive acceptance of interferences rather than active management of them. However, workers can also actively manage boundaries to enhance work and life balance. To find ways to enhance work and life balance, especially in the context of Smart Work, factors having effects on the work/nonwork interferences and their relationships should be firstly investigated. The results show that in a work domain, both boundary strength at work and job autonomy negatively influence on the nonwork to work interferences; in a nonwork domain, both boundary strength at nonwork and autonomy have negative effects on the work to nonwork interferences.
