A Study on a Phase-encoded Multiplexing Method in Holographic Memory System (홀로그래픽 메모리시스템에서 위상 다중화 인코딩에 관한 연구)

  • For an effective phase-multiplexing in holographic memory system, four types of phase code used as reference beam are generated. In case of $32 {\times} 32$ address beam, a phase error with 0%, 5%, 10% 15%, 20%, and 25% error rate, is purposely added to the real phase values in order to consider the practical SLM's nonlinear characteristics of phase modulation in computer simulation, cross talks and SNRs are comparatively analysed for these phase-codes by the auto and cross-correlation. Pseudo-Random(PSR) Phase Code has the lowest cross-correlation mean value of 0.067 among four types of Phase Code, which means the SNR of the PSR is higher than other Phase Codes. Also, the standard deviation of the PSR phase code indicating the degree of recalled data degradation is the lowest value of 0.0113.

Parallel Method for HEVC Deblocking Filter based on Coding Unit Depth Information (코딩 유닛 깊이 정보를 이용한 HEVC 디블록킹 필터의 병렬화 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a parallel deblocking algorithm to resolve workload imbalance when the deblocking filter of high efficiency video coding (HEVC) decoder is parallelized. In HEVC, the deblocking filter which is one of the in-loop filters conducts two-step filtering on vertical edges first and horizontal edges later. The deblocking filtering can be conducted with high-speed through data-level parallelism because there is no dependency between adjacent edges for deblocking filtering processes. However, workloads would be imbalanced among regions even though the same amount of data for each region is allocated, which causes performance loss of decoder parallelization. In this paper, we solve the problem for workload imbalance by predicting the complexity of deblocking filtering with coding unit (CU) depth information at a coding tree block (CTB) and by allocating the same amount of workload to each core. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves average time saving (ATS) by 64.3%, compared to single core-based deblocking filtering and also achieves ATS by 6.7% on average and 13.5% on maximum, compared to the conventional uniform data-level parallelism.

  • Today's healthcare, intelligent robots, smart home systems, and car sharing are already innovating with cutting-edge information and communication technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things, the Internet of Intelligent Things, and Big data. It is deeply affecting our lives. In the factory, robots have been working for humans more than several decades (FA, OA), AI doctors are also working in hospitals (Dr. Watson), AI speakers (Giga Genie) and AI assistants (Siri, Bixby, Google Assistant) are working to improve Natural Language Process. Now, in order to understand AI, knowledge of mathematics becomes essential, not a choice. Thus, mathematicians have been given a role in explaining such mathematics that make these things possible behind AI. Therefore, the authors wrote a textbook 'Basic Mathematics for Artificial Intelligence' by arranging the mathematics concepts and tools needed to understand AI and machine learning in one or two semesters, and organized lectures for undergraduate and graduate students of various majors to explore careers in artificial intelligence. A Case Study of Five-year-old Popular Child's Behavior Patterns (만5세 또래 인기아의 행동특성에 대한 사례 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore five-year-old popular child's behavior patterns through participant observation and to analyze the collected data with qualitative method. One popular child was selected from D child care center of P city in Kyeonggi province. Peer-nomination method was used to select the popular child. Participant observation was conducted from April to November in 2017 through 36 observations in free choice activities. As well as observation records, formal and informal interview records with parents and teachers, parent counseling journals, observation journals, and child's personal records were used to understand the popular child. Three steps, including recording, coding, and making themes, were conducted to analyze the data. The main results of the research were as follows: The behavior patterns of popular child in this study presented both positive and negative sides. The positive behavior patterns included consideration, responsibility, high concentration, and a sense of humor. The negative behavior patterns showed control and exclusion. This study has implications for development of educational program and environment to enhance positive peer relationship.

The Design of 32 Bit Microprocessor for Sequence Control Using FPGA (FPGA를 이용한 시퀀스 제어용 32비트 마이크로프로세서 설계)

  • This paper presents the design of 32 bit microprocessor for a sequence control using a field programmable gate array(FPGA). The microprocessor was designed by a VHDL with top down method, the program memory was separated from the data memory for high speed execution of sequence instructions. Therefore it was possible that sequence instructions could be operated at the same time during the instruction fetch cycle. In order to reduce the instruction decoding time and the interface time of the data memory interface, an instruction code size was implemented by 32 bits. And the real time debug operation was implemented for easeful debugging the designed processor with a single step run, PC break point run, data memory break point run. Also in this designed microprocessor, pulse instructions, step controllers, master controllers, BM and BCD type arithmetic instructions, barrel shift instructions were implemented for sequence logic control. The FPGA was synthesized under a Xilinx's Foundation 4.2i Project Manager using a V600EHQ240 which contains 600,000 gates. Finally simulation and experiment were successfully performed respectively. For showing good performance, the designed microprocessor for the sequence logic control was compared with the H8S/2148 microprocessor which contained many bit instructions for sequence logic control. The designed processor for the sequence logic showed good performance.

  • In recent years, as network technology develops, the usage of streaming services by users is increasing. However, the complexity of streaming services is also increasing due to various terminal environments. Even when streaming the same content, it is necessary to re-encode the content according to the type of service. In order to solve the complexity and latency of the streaming service, Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) has standardized the Common Media Application Format (CMAF). In addition, as content transmission using a communication network becomes possible, the Republic of Korea's Ultra High Definition (UHD) broadcasting standard has been enacted as a hybrid standard using a broadcasting network and a communication network. The hybrid service enables various services such as transmitting additional information of contents or providing user-customized contents through a communication network. The Republic of Korea's UHD transmission standard utilizes MPEG Media Transport (MMT), and Mobile MMT is an extension of MMT to provide mobile network-specific functions. This paper proposes a method of inserting CMAF contents suitable for various streaming services using signaling messages of MMT and Mobile MMT. In addition, this paper proposes a model for content insertion system in heterogeneous network environment using broadcasting and communication networks, and verifies the validity of the proposed technology by checking the result of content insertion.

  • Recently, depending on the development of smart devices, a variable services have been offered to meet user's convenience. Due to these advance, the needs of users are extremely being diversified and more specific. In that situation, the needs for the N-Screen system has been varied and gradually evolved. An existing N-Screen system that use the way of video streaming upload its multimedia contents to their own cloud server so that might take a long play-reaction time and the number of user is limited by the server's performance. Because of the web based protocol adopted by existing N-Screen system, there are many different problems like high delay, overhead and something caused by simplex data communications. Therefore, to solve the problems above, this study proposes an application based on HTML5. This application supports Video tag and Progressive download via HTML5 so that improves the play-reaction time for multimedia contents. This system can also get rid of the chronic problems such as an access limitation for lots of users as per video streaming encoding. Also, through web sockets, this study proposes a system that has lower delay than the existing system and communicates in full duplex to be able to link dynamically.

  • 본 논문은 무선통신 환경에서 다양한 위치정보의 응용서비스인 위치기반서비스의 공통적인 기능을 가지는 지오코더 서비스를 설계하는 것이다. 위치기반서비스는 망이나 GPS 등의 측위기술을 이용하여 휴대 단말 등 사용자의 위치정보를 제공하는 것으로 최근 부가가치가 기대되는 서비스이다. 지오코더 서비스는 주소 등의 요청에 대해 X, Y, Z 등으로 표현되는 지리적 위치정보를 제공하는 서비스와 역으로 지리적 위치정보를 포함하는 요청에 대해 주소 등을 포함한 정규화 된 정보를 제공하는 역지오코더 서비스로 정의할 수 있다. 국내의 많은 웹 기반의 GIS 서비스들이 지형지물 등에 의해 지리적인 위치를 탐색하는 지오코딩 기능이 구현되어 있으나, 지리 정보에 대한 각각 서로 다른 인터페이스들이 사용되고 있어, 확장된 활용성에 한계를 가지고 있다. 특히, 무선통신 환경의 발전에 따른 효율적인 지리적 위치정보의 활용을 통한 다양한 위치기반서비스의 개발 및 활성화를 위하여 국제동향을 고려한 정규화 된 지오코더 서비스의 개발이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 지리적 위치정보를 포함하고 있는 지오코더 서비스를 위하여 기술규격 범위와 요구기능 정의, 서비스를 위한 데이터의 정규화 및 인터페이스를 설계하여, 국내 무선통신 환경에서 다양한 위치기반서비스의 활용성을 높이기 위한 서비스 시스템 방안을 마련하고자 한다. 또한, 주소 정의에 있어서 국내 주소체계를 충분히 분석하여 구축하였다. 이는 본 연구자가 LBS 표준화 포럼을 통하여 작성 중인 '지오코더서비스 인터페이스 기술규격'을 수용한 것이다.적으로 분석하고, 지형정보의 체계적 관리를 위해 가장 필요한 해안습지 지형분류도를 작성하기 위해 가장 기초적인 단계인 해안습지 지형분류체계에 대한 국내외의 연구성과를 비교하여 시안을 작성 표준화를 위한 첫 단계 시도를 소개하였다.분석 결과는 문장, 그림 및 도표, 장 끝의 질문, 학생의 학습 활동 수 등이 $0.4{\sim}1.5$ 사이의 값으로 학생 참여를 적절히 유도하는 발견 지향적 인 것으로 조사되었다. 그러나 장의 요약은 본문 내용을 반복하는 내용으로 구성되었다. 이와 같이 공통과학 과목은 새로운 현대 사회에 부응하는 교과 목표와 체계를 지향하고 있지만 아직도 통합과학으로서의 내용과 체계를 완전히 갖추고 있지 못할 뿐만 아니라 현재 사용되고 있는 7종의 교과서가 교육 목표를 충분히 반영하지 못하고 있다. 따라서 교사의 역할이 더욱더 중요하게 되었다.괴리가 작아진다. 이 결과에 따르면 위탁증거금의 징수는 그 제도의 취지에 부합되고 있다. 다만 제도운용상의 이유이거나 혹은 우리나라 주식시장의 투자자들이 비합리적인 투자형태를 보임에 따라 그 정책적 효과는 때로 역기능적인 결과로 초래하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 연구결과를 통하여 최소한 주식시장(株式市場)에서 위탁증거금제도는 그 제도적 의의가 여전히 있다는 사실이 확인되었다. 또한 우리나라 주식시장에서 통상 과열투기 행위가 빈번히 일어나 주식시장을 교란시킴으로써 건전한 투자풍토조성에 저해된다는 저간의 우려가 매우 커왔으나 표본 기간동안에 대하여 실증분석을 한 결과 주식시장 전체적으로 볼 때 주가변

Dummy Sequence Insertion for PAPR Reduction of OFDM Communication System (OFDM 통신시스템의 PAPR 저감을 위한 더미 시퀀스 삽입)

  • OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) communications system is very attractive for the high data rate transmission in the frequency selective lading channel. Since OFDM has high PAPR(peak-to-average power ratio), OFDM signal may be distorted by the nonlinear HPA(high power amplifier). In this paper, we propose the DSI(dummy sequence insertion) method for OFDM communication system. Some sub-carriers are inserted for PAPR reduction. They carry the specified dummy data sequence which are used for only PAPR reduction and do not work as side information like the conventional PTS(partial transmit sequence) or SLM(selected mapping) method. We use the complementary sequence and the combination of the correlation sequence as the dummy sequence. Flipping technique is used for the DSI method to get the effective PAPR reduction. It is important that BER of the proposed method is independent of the damage of the dummy data sequence. And DSI method has better spectral efficiency than the conventional block coding. On the other hand, threshold PAPR method is applied to cut down the processing time. However, this DSI method is not better than the conventional PTS method in the respect of the PAPR reduction performance. The DSI method includes the threshold PAPR lower than the PAPR of the OFDM signal, reduces the processing time and improves the BER performance.

Reactive oxygen species-dependent down-regulation of ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase in Schizosaccharomyces pombe (Schizosaccharomyces pombe에서의 유비퀴틴 C-말단 가수분해효소의 활성산소종 의존성 하향조절)

  • The Schizosaccharomyces pombe $sdu1^+$ gene, belonging to the PPPDE superfamily of deubiquitinating enzyme (DUB) genes, was previously shown to encode a protein with ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase (UCH) activity and to participate in the response against oxidative and nitrosative stresses. This work focused on the reactive oxygen species (ROS)-dependent regulation of the S. pombe $sdu1^+$ gene. UCH activities, encoded by the $sdu1^+$ gene, were attenuated in the S. pombe cells exposed to $H_2O_2$, superoxide radical-generating menadione (MD), and nitric oxide (NO)-generating sodium nitroprusside (SNP). Reduced glutathione (GSH) and its precursor N-acetylcysteine (NAC) were able to significantly enhance the UCH activities in the absence or presence of $H_2O_2$. However, the influences of both GSH and NAC on the ROS levels in the absence or presence of $H_2O_2$ were opposite to their effects on the UCH activities under the same conditions. The UCH activities in the Sdu1-overexpressing S. pombe cells were also diminished under exposure to $H_2O_2$, MD and SNP, but still remained to be higher than those in the vector control cells. In brief, it is proposed that the S. pombe $sdu1^+$ gene is regulated by ROS in a negative manner, the meaning of which largely remains elusive.
