Influence of gender on Dysphonia Severity Index : A study of normative values (성(性)이 DSI(Dysphonia Severity Index)에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was investigate the usefulness of the DSI according to gender. The present study evaluated DSI in Korean population and Thirty voluntary participants (15 males, 15 females) who had G0 on the Grade, Roughness, Breathiness, Asthenics, Strain(GRBAS) and lived in Kyunggi-Do or Seoul, from March 2011 to June 2011. Maximum phonation time, the Highest fundamental frequency, the Lowest intensity, and Jitter(%) were measured using CSL 4500(Kay Pentax. USA). The experimenter explained the subjects the experimental condition and procedures and demonstrated the procedures, prior to the experiment. The result of in this study showed that the difference between males and females were not significants, although the Fhi was higher for females than for males. Therefore, We conclude that the DSI is a useful instrument to objectively measure the severity of dysphonia.

The Effect of Ankle Joint Muscle Strengthening Training and Static Muscle Stretching Training on Stroke Patients' Plantar Pressure and Gait (발목관절의 근력 강화 훈련과 정적 근육 신장 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 족저압 및 보행에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was intended to implement ankle joint dorsi flexion training against ankle muscule strength weakening that erodes stroke patients' gait performance to examine the effect of the training on stroke patients' plantar pressure and gait ability. In this study, 36 stroke patients diagnosed with stroke due to cerebral infarction or cerebral hemorrhage were divided to measure 10MWS which are stroke patients' gait variables maximum plantar pressure by area of the sole by collecting data using an F-scan system during gait. Given these results of the study, compared to other training groups, the ankle muscule strength reinforcing training group showed statistically significant increases of maximum plantar pressure in the great toe, the toe and the first metatasal areas too and thus it can be said that this training increases forward thrust during stroke patients' foot end taking off and positively affects stroke patients' ability to perform gait.

  • The purpose of this study is investigate the sociology population variable and social support system(emotional, financial, informal and evaluative support) with regards to the death anxiety and provide a basic data to relieve the fear of death in the elderly special nursing service. 300 old people who are living in Daeg-gu city and Kyong-buk province were selected and interviewed under their agreement which they are fully aware of the purpose and the intention of this study. Interviews for study were performed by structured questionnaire which consists of general area(11-question), social support area(emotional support 7-question, financial support 6-question, informal support 6-question and evaluative support 6-question) and death-anxiety(20-question). Statistical analysis was carried out with SPSS 12.0 program, which was applied to descriptive statistics and regression analysis to analyze the questionnaire.

  • This study showed effective and new applicative direction of CRM of medical management after arranging CRM researches, measuring CRM activity and the results of medical institutions and clearing factors having an effect. In other words, 'Human Factors' variables and 'Physical Factors' variables have an effect on the result of CRM. 'Human Factors' variables have an effect on the qualitative result and 'Physical Factors' variables have an effect on the quantitative performance. In more strategic CRM continuum, Human Factors have a significant effect on the whole performance of CRM. And in more tactical, CRM continuum Human Factors and Physical Factors have significant effect on the whole performance of CRM. Consequently, The key point is grasp of what characteristics exist in CRM between strategic level and tactical level. This provides the foundation for the variables in marketing practice.

Transient Analysis of High-rise Wall-Frame Structures with Outriggers under Seismic Load (초고층 전단벽-골조 아웃리거 구조시스템의 지진하중에 대한 시간이력해석)

  • In this paper, the seismic behavior of shear wal-frame systems is analyzed. The governing equations of the wall-frame systems with outrigger truss are formulated through the continuum approach and the whole structure is idealized as a shear-flexural cantileverwith rotational spring. The effect of shear deformation and flexural deformation of the wall-frame and outrigger trusses are considered and incorporated in the formulation of the wall-frame structures with and without outriggers are compared by using finite element analysis incorporated with the Newmark-${\beta}$ method. Numerical results are obtained and compared with the finite element package MIDAS. The proposed method is found to be simple and efficient, and provides reason ably accurate results in the early design stage of tall building structures.

  • Generally, not only in order to design three dimensional hydraulic structures such a spillway and to investigate the hydraulic phenomena concerning hydraulic facilities, but also to grasp shape and stability, we simulate actuality phenomenon through hydraulic model experiments. However, it requires too much times, expense and space to perform hydraulic model experiments, as well as it is very difficult to measure reduced scale of actual hydraulic structures. Besides, surface tension can exert fair effect in experiment result, and occasionally an experiment of various case is impossible actually. Therefore, there is necessity to draw proper early result through numerical analysis, and if decide the case of a hydraulic model experiment through the numerical analysis and compare the result, finally economical and reasonable design hydraulic structures are available. This study performs numerical analysis of overflow spillway and an experimental study of hydraulic model tests to design the optimal spillway and suggest a better design to improve hydraulic conditions. From the measurements, revised designs for an hydraulic structure are suggested and consequent improvement effects by the new design are also investigated.

Audio Format Comparative Study and Suggestion for Next Generation DTV (차세대 디지털 TV 방송을 위한 오디오 규격 비교 분석 및 제언)

  • With commencing trial 3D digital broadcasting, the studies on next generation digital broadcasting technology for coming UHDTV era is being actively progressing. In this paper, I propose surround audio formats for next-generation digital TV broadcasting, along with comparative study of major surround audio formats in use or under development. I did comparative study on current major competing surround formats such as Dolby True HD and DTS HD MA, along with NHK proposed 22.2 channel surround format for UHDTV system. Upon this comparative study and our housing situation consideration, I propose lossy compression 3D surround 7.1 channel surround format along with loosless 2.0 and 4.0 hi-fi format as next generation digital TV broadcasting standard. In lieu with this, I also propose transmitting binaural 2 channel audio data as sub-audio. It will give holographic sound experience when properly processed with individual HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function) with headphone. The table for data rate of each proposed audio format is also presented.

A study on the gas reaction mechanism in catalyst/$SnO_2$ gas sensor (촉매/$SnO_2$ 가스 센서의 반응 구조에 관한 연구)

  • A dry impregnation method was used for preparing pellet type Pt/$SnO_2$ gas sensor. The crystal structure, direction of the crystal, crystal size and microstructure between the catalyst and the support ($SnO_2$) were characterized with electron diffraction analysis, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy. The characterization indicates that when Pt/$SnO_2$ sample is calcined at $400^{\circ}C$, the Cl content associated with the Pt phase diminishes and the part of Pt is moved into $SnO_2$ support. This results in the enhancement of gas sensitivity. After the reactor with a Pt/$SnO_2$ sample was run with a flow rate of 30 sccm (a mixture of 0.5% $H_2$ in $_N2$) for a while, the resistance of $SnO_2$ was saturated, but the $SnO_2$ kept absorbing $H_2$ gas. This indicates that the surface state was saturated. For the 14 ppm $H_2$ gas, the sensitivity of Pt/$SnO_2$ devices was about 81% at an operating temperature of $300^{\circ}C$.

  • This study is to develop the curriculum for training students with practical business skills which medical business needs. We surveyed businesses which have employed graduates who majored in medical information. The survey was conducted into the expectation of business for graduates, their job competence and business needs for curriculum utilizing the self-reported questionnaire. We analyzed correlation, frequency and regression among job class, business types and job positions of those surveyed. The result shows that medical information businesses express high expectation in personality education rather than major knowledge and think that field practice is important in the college curriculum. We expects the study will contribute positively to improve the curriculum for raising the employment rate of college graduates.

  • Space structure is a appropriate shape that resists external force only with in-plane force by reducing the influence of bending moment, and it maximizes the effectiveness of structure system. The space structure should be analized by nonlinear analysis regardless static and dynamic analysis because it accompanies large deflection for member. To analyze the structure of the space structure exactly generally geometrically nonlinear and material nonlinear, complex nonlinear analysis are considered. To settle the weakness that geometric nonlinear problem does not consider nonlinear as per trait and position of the structure material and that the nonlinear matter of structure material also does not consider nonlinear as per geometric form. Therefore, In this paper, analysis is considered geometric nonlinear and material nonlinear simultaneous conditioning, and traced load-deflection curve by using ABAQUS which is the general purpose of the finite element program.
