Velocity variability of Masan Inlet in the northernpart of Chinhae Bay is studied on the basis of the cross-sectional net velocity distributions and its root-mean-square. They were calculated during three consecutive cycles at spring tide as well as two cycles at near tide with precipitations in June and July 1985. During the spring tide, net ebb flow take place in the western channel while net flood flow in the eastern channel of the cross-section. On the contrary, the direction of both net flows during the neap tide with precipitations is reversed. R.M.S. isotachs show that the highest velocity is 15 cm/sec at spring tide and 10.3 cm/sec at neap tide, and the greatest velocity is persistently found at the surface layer of the western channel of the cross-section at each tidal cycle. It is shown that the major part of constituents of the constant flow in the Inlet is the tidal residual current. The density-driven current, however, plays an important role afer the heavy precipitations.
Magnetohydrodynamic wave phenomena have been investigated in the deep plasmasphere by the electric field measurements in the EXOS-D(Akebono) satellite. EXOS-D has highly eccentric orbits(the perigee: 274km, the apogee: 10,500km), which allows relatively long observational time interval near the apogee region compared to other satellites which pass by the same region with less eccentric orbits. Case studies are performed on one month data of October in 1989 where the apogee is located near the equator and the magnetic local time is about 9:00-12:00 a.m. in the dayside plasmasphere. The observational region ranges from L=2 to L=3 and the magnetic latitude is restricted to less than 30 degrees. The power spectrum is examined for each 128 point series of 8-sec averaged data through a FFT, which covers f = 0~62.3 mHz frequency bands. The results are well consistent with field line resonances (FLRs) and cavity modes in the plasmasphere.
The abnormal cooling phenomenon occurred in the coastal areas of East Sea of Korea in summer, 1981 is studied on the basis of the oceanographical data obtained by the National Fisheries University of Pusan, in July, 1981 and by Fisheries Research and Development Agency of Korea during 1961 to 1981 and by Japan Meteorological Agency in 1975 and 1981. Th vertical section of temperature along 130 E showed that the warmer waters more than 10 C occupied at upper layer of about 75m depth in south of 35 30'N the layer changed rapidly thinner as 20m th 30m depth. In the areas of East Sea during 1966 to 1981, the temperature fluctuations at 100m depth ranged greatly in standard deviation from 2 C to 4 C. The temperature anomaly in 1981 was about 1.5 times of the standard deviation and at the upper layer of 150m depth the temperatures became colder by 5 -10 C than average values in August, 1961-1975. The 10 C isotherm at 100m depth in 1981 appeared between 35 and 36 N, shifting southward 20 to 120 miles than mean year. These results showed that the abnormal cooling phenomenon in the areas of East Sea of Korea in summer occurred mose predominantly in 1981 in period from 1966 to 1981
Objectives: This study investigated the utilization and satisfaction of lunchbox by considering the dietary lifestyle of the consumer, in order to refine the purchasing behavior of adults with experience in using lunchboxes, and to provide basic data for efficient menu configuration and direction towards improvement. Methods: A total of 600 adults in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do answered a self-administered questionnaire designed to investigate general characteristics, utilization, menu preference, satisfaction, prospection, and improvement of lunchbox, according to the dietary lifestyle. Results: The study subjects were classified into 5 groups: 'taste seeking group', 'safety seeking group', 'health seeking group', 'economic seeking group' and 'convenience seeking group. Considering purchase value of the lunchbox, the 'taste seeking group' had a high utilization rate (35.1%) for prices less than 4,000 won (P < 0.05). Lunchboxes were mainly purchased at the lunchbox store (43.3%) and convenience store (37.7%). The important factor that contributed to purchasing a lunchbox was taste (61.3%), which was highest in the 'taste seeking group' (P < 0.01). The 'health seeking group' showed the highest preference for the low-salt diet lunchbox menu (26.0%) (P < 0.05). The satisfaction of 'health seeking groups' was lowest when considering addition of condiments (2.34%), origin of ingredient (2.59%), and provided calorie (2.81%) (P < 0.05). The overall response indicated future use of the lunchbox (69.6%) (P < 0.01); 35.8% respondents recommended the purchase of lunchbox, where convenience of purchase was the highest factor contributing to recommendation (50.2%) (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Taken together, our results indicate that taste was emphasized in every group purchasing the lunch box. Convenience of purchase was the highest factor contributing to satisfaction, which was relatively low when considering addition of condiments, nutrition and origin of ingredients. We propose that it is necessary to improve the development of various menus for increasing satisfaction by selecting the right ingredients contributing to good health of the consumer.
Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the perspective and popularization of temple food among university students with food related majors, and to provide basic data for the popularization and the fostering of professional lecture in temple food. Methods: A self-administered questionnaire was applied to 453 university students at six universities with food related majors. The questionnaire was designed to examine interest, recognition, consumption, popularization and curriculum of temple food. Results: The study population consisted of 19.2% men, and 80.8% women, and the most common response to desired career after graduation was food related employment (53.9%). Overall, 49.0% replied that they had an interest in temple food, which was relatively low. 59.9% of respondents who had been known throw TV, Internet, newspaper, and magazines about temple food were showed the highest results. Additionally, as for the perception of temple food, 'Prevention of lifestyle related disease' was the highest score (4.10). Overall, 64.9% of the subjects had not tried temple food, and 84.7% of these responded that this was because they had not encountered temple food. Among subjects who had tried temple food, most had encountered it at a temple (73.0%), and 78.0% replied that the taste of temple food was suitable. The intention to try temple food was 73.3%, and 64.8% of respondents said there was a necessity to establishment curriculum regarding temple food. Finally, interest, popularization, and intention to try temple food were significantly positively corelated. Conclusions: The results showed high interest in temple food and willingness to participate in education regarding temple food, as well as awareness of the need for popularization. Therefore, it is necessary to increase intake opportunities to raise interest in temple foods. This can be accomplished utilizing publicity materials, as well as by offering opportunities for temple food education through curriculum.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the gender difference in adolescent's problem behavior and depression, and The main aim of this study was to develop a fundamental web design to provide information content that would be easy for average consumers to understand based on the classification of information related to food safety. Based on the information obtained through in-depth interviews, the researchers developed an information classification system that meets the needs of consumers, and which serve as a basic framework for a homepage for a food safety information center. A total of 62 food items in 6 areas were selected based on reports of food safety related events occurring between 1998-2009 (KFDA 2008). The classification system of risk factors such as chemical risk factors and biological risk factors were categorized. The specific features of the information content for individual food items provided for classification based on evaluation by professional food scientists and the importance of risk factors. By providing a consumer participation section and company participation section, it was anticipated that the food safety information center would be able to act as a moderator for food safety information communication among consumers, the food industry, and the government. Based on the development of a classification system and framework, a design plan and tree-map for the internet site was developed.
There are many astronomical records of comets in Korean history books. We collected those of the comet that appeared in the winter of the year 1664. These records were written in Daily Reports of the Royal Observatory on Astronomical Events (星變測候單子), Final Reports of the Royal Observatory on An Astronomical Events (天變謄錄), the Daily Records of the Royal Secretariat of the Joseon Dynasty (承政院日記), and the Chronicle of the Joseon Dynasty (朝鮮王朝實錄). We used the Olbers' method for determination of preliminary orbit of the comet, and compared the result with the previous researches. In the Oblers' method the orbit is assumed to be parabolic (e=1). We obtained the following orbital elements: perifocal distance q=1.07\pm0.008AU, perifocal passage time $T=2329165.50\pm0.72$ days, argument of the perifocus $\omega=318^{\circ}.2\pm2^{\circ}.29$, longitude of ascending node $\Omega=85^{\circ}.23\pm2^{\circ}53(J1665)$(J1665), inclination $i=160^{\circ}.28\pm1^{|circ}.56$.
The short and long periodic perturbations and secular perturbation due to the geopotentials of degree $J_2$ and $J_3$ which affect orbital elements of a near-circular orbiting satellite are obtained by the analytical method. The singular points due to a small denominator e in the perturbation equations can be excluded using one of the methods introduced by Taff(1985), which substitutes $e_s=esin\omega,\;e_c=ecos\omega\;and\;\ell=\omega+M$ for the orbital elements e, $\omega$ and M. We determined the mean orbital elements of the meteorological satellite NOAA-10 using the Walter (1967)'s iterative procedure and compared with Brouwer's mean orbital elements determined at NASA. The mean orbital elements a, ⅰand $\Omega$ are consistent with those of NASA but the mean orgital elements e, $\omega$ and M have some deviations from those of NASA. According to the our results, it is not suitable for the polar orbiting satellites to use the Taff's proposal for excluding the singular points, which substitutes e, $\omega$ and M by $e_s=esin(\Omega+\omega),\;e_c=ecos(\Omega+\omega)\;and\;L=\Omega+\omega+M$.
Using the numerical solution in the plane restricted problem of three bodies, abut 490 periodic orbits are computed numerically around the $L_5$ of Sun-Jupiter and about 1600 periodic orbits also be done around the $L_5$ of Sun-Jupiter system. But, in Earth-Moon system, the complex shapes and dents appear around the $L_5$ and periodic orbits intersect one another in the place where dents are shown. And there is a region that three different periodic orbits exist with the same period in this system. The increase of energy is in inverse proportion to that of period in the part of this region. The regions can exist around the $L_5$ of Sun-Jupiter system where periodic orbit can be unstable by perturbation of other force besides the gravitational force of Jupiter. These regions which is close to $L_5$ are a~5.12 AU. The Trojan asteroids that have a small eccentricity and inclination can not exist in this region.

In this paper, we proposed a new method for pulmonary vessels image segmentation and refinement from pulmonary image. Proposed method consist of following five steps. First, threshold estimation is performed by polynomial regression analysis of histogram variation rate of the pulmonary image. Second, segmentation of pulmonary vessels object is performed by density-based segmentation method based on estimated threshold in first step. Third, 2D connected component labeling method is applied to segmented pulmonary vessels. The seed point of both side diaphragms is determined by eccentricity and size of component. Fourth step is diaphragm extraction by 3D region growing method at the determined seed point. Finally, noise cancelation of pulmonary vessels image is performed by 3D connected component labeling method. The experimental result is showed accurately pulmonary vessels image segmentation, the diaphragm extraction and the noise cancelation of the pulmonary vessels image.
