Design of Fuzzy PID Controllers using TSK Fuzzy Systems (TSK 퍼지 시스템을 이용한 퍼지 PID 제어기 설계)

  • In this paper, an algorithm to design fuzzy PID controllers is proposed. The proposed controllers are composed of fuzzy rules of which consequences are linear PID controllers and are designed with help of TSK fuzzy controllers. TSK fuzzy controllers are designed from TSK fuzzy model using pole assignment and have outstanding ability making the output response of nonlinear systems similar to the desired one. However, because of its structure complexity the TSK fuzzy controller is difficult to be used in industry. The proposed controllers have PID controller structure which can be easily realized, and are designed by using the data obtained from control simulations with TSK fuzzy controllers. To verify the proposed algorithm, two example simulations are performed.

Intelligent Digital Control of a Single Link Flexible-Joint Robot with Uncertainties (불확실성을 갖는 단일 링크 유연로봇의 지능형 디지털 제어)

  • In this paper, we propose a systematic method of a fuzzy-model-based controller for continuous-time nonlinear dynamical systems which may contain uncertainties. The continuous-time uncertain TS fuzzy model is first constructed to represent the uncertain nonlinear system. A parallel distributed compensation (PDC) technique is then used to design a fuzzy model based controller for both stabilization and tracking. Finally, the designed continuous-time controller is converted to an equivalent discrete-time controller by using an intelligent digital redesign method. This new design technique provides a systematic and effective framework for integration of the fuzzy model based control theory and the advanced digital redesign technique for nonlinear dynamical systems with uncertainties. Finally, the single link flexible-joint robot arm is used as an illustrative example to show the effectiveness and the feasibility of the developed design method.

  • In this paper, we propose a systematic method for intelligent digital redesign of a fuzzy-model-based controller for continuous-time nonlinear dynamical systems which may also contain uncertainties. The continuous-time uncertain TS fuzzy model is first constructed to represent the uncertain nonlinear systems. An extended parallel distributed compensation(EPDC) technique is then used to design a fuzzy-model-based controller for both stabilization and tracking. The designed continuous-time controller is then converted to an equivalent discrete-time controller by using an integrated intelligent digital redesign method. Construction of the I-PD Control System by Multilayer Neural Network (다층 신경망에 의한 I-PD 제어계의 구성)

  • Many control techniques have been proposed in order to improve the control performance in discrete-time domain control system. In control system using these techniques, the response-characteristic of system is dependent on the gains of the controller. Specially, There is a need to readjust the gain of controller when the response of system is changed by disturbance or load fluctuation. In this paper, I-PD controller and pre-compensator are designed by multilayer neural network. The gains of I-PD controller and pre-compensator are adjusted automatically by back propagation algorithm when the response characteristic of system is changed under a condition. Applying this control technique to the position control system using a DC servo motor as a driver, the control performance of controller is verified by the results of experiment.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the antimicrobial effects of $ClO_2$ gas on pathogenic E. coli and Salmonella spp. colonizing on the fruit surface of strawberries for export. Factorial design was employed to treat strawberries inoculated with pathogenic E. coli or Salmonella spp. with a combination of $ClO_2$ gas concentrations (10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 ppmv), RH (50, 70, and 90%), and treatment time (0, 5, 10, 20, and 30 min). Interaction between the factors was observed to note that the reduced levels of microbial population were the highest when RH is set at 90% with gas concentration- and treatment time-dependent manner. With RH and gas concentration fixed at 90% and 50 ppmv, the populations of E. coli and Salmonella spp. decreased by 2.07 and 2.28 log CFU/g when treated for 20 min whereas population reduction by 0.5 and 0.7 log CFU/g were observed when treated for 5 min, respectively. The results help establish most effective conditions for $ClO_2$ gas treatment to enhance microbial safety of strawberries for export.

  • We consider the interval of a gain within which it is guaranteed that a feedback control system is stable. This paper presents the condition under which either a unity feedback control system is stable for a connected gain interval with a proportional compensator cascaded with an open loop forward transfer function. By the connected interval we mean that all the numbers between any two numbers in the connected interval belongs to the connected interval. The condition may be described by a frequency inequality in terms of the denominator and/or numerator of the closed loop transfer function. We also consider the conditions for the discrete-time control systems and the time delay continuous-time control systems. We show that this condition cannot be extended for the transfer function having complex coefficients via a counterexample.

  • In this paper, we present robust reliable $H\infty$ controller design methods of continuous and discrete uncertain time delay systems through LMI(linear matrix inequality) approach, respectively. Also the existence conditions of state feedback control are proposed. Using some changes of varables and Schur complements, the obtained sufficient conditions are transformed into LMI form. We show the validity of the proposed method through numerical examples.

  • In this paper, an output tracking control technique of discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy systems is developed. The TS fuzzy system is represented as an uncertain multiple linear system. The tracking problem of TS fuzzy system is converted into the stabilization problem of a uncertain multiple linear system. A sufficient condition for asymptotic tracking is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). A design example is illustrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This paper proposes a new method for eliminating periodic interference corrupting a signal. The method proposed herein uses a variable notch filter by sampling frequency control to eliminate the interference. This method is applicable when an auxiliary reference input is available containing the interference alone. The sampling frequency is determined by the fundamental frequency of the periodic interference. Also, this paper proposes a design procedure so that it can be easily applied.

  • A new algorithm based on the concept of prediction error minimization is suggested to estimate the time varying delay in discrete processes. In spite of the existence of the stochastic noise, this algorithm can estimate time varying delay accurately. Computation time of this algorithm is far less than that of the previous extended parameter methods. With the use of this algorithm, generalized minimum variance control shows good control behavior in simulations.
