Exploratory Research into the Role of early childhood teacher based on Relationship -Centering on the case in Korea and Japan (관계성에 기초한 유아교사의 역할 탐색 연구 -한국과 일본의 사례를 중심으로-)

  • This study was aimed at inquiring into the role characteristics of a early childhood teacher, who can put an act of tending & examining into practice, and organizing a role by analyzing the concrete reality based on the relationship with a early childhood teacher's role in Korea and Japan. As a result, this study could take a look at the characteristics, such as relation with conversation, relation through sensation and body, relation with familiarity, and relation by living through the cases in Korea. As for the cases in Japan, there appear the characteristics, such as relation through natural things, relation as an equal participant, relation with bodily movement, and relation with daily life. Based on the result of the analysis, this study organized a early childhood teacher's role as relationship through object-oriented language, relationship based on sensation, relationship based on fellowship, and ecological relationship.

A study on influence of pre-service early childhood teacher's achievement motivation and social intelligence on their social problem solving ability (예비유아교사의 성취동기와 사회지능이 사회문제해결력에 미치는 영향력 분석)

  • This study analyzed the relationship between the achievement motivation and social intelligence in pre-service early childhood teachers and their achievement motivation and social intelligence. The achievement motivation Inventory for pre-service early childhood teachers (Song, 2004), the social intelligence questionnaire (Han, 2011) and the Children's social problem solving ability scale (Huh, 1999) were administered to 193 pre-service early childhood teachers. The data underwent Pearson correlation analysis using the SPSS 21.0 program. The results of this study were as follows. First, there were significant positive relationships among the achievement motivation, social intelligence, and social problem solving ability. Second, the achievement motivation and social intelligence was an important factor for predicting the social problem solving ability of pre-service early childhood teachers.

The Educational Meaning of the Process of 'Soil' Theme for Five Years Old (만 5세 유아의 '흙' 주제 탐구 과정에 대한 교육적 의미 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive educational meaning by analyzing 5-year-olds' activities process in soil-themed activities about 'soil' theme which was investigated by examination and teachers' reflective journals. For this, data of 20 children in 5-year-old class were collected and analyzed. As a result, firstly the value of children's pre-concept evaluation on soil theme was identified. Secondly, 'soil' theme was found to have a positive influence on children's feeling of wonder about nature and their ecological perspective taking ability. Thirdly, children could comprehensively investigate science education fields such as biology, ecology, and earth science in the process of investigating soil theme. Fourth, children came into interest in the process of understanding the relationship between soil and human through media. Lastly, children were found to compose scientific knowledge while investigating soil, through naturally using the method of inference.

Developing a Collaborative Model for Early Childhood Teacher's Knowledge on Early Childhood Curriculum at First Career Period (유치원 초임교사의 교육계획안 개발에서 실천적 지식 함양을 위한 협력 모형 구안)

  • This study explored the contents of practical knowledge about educational planning in early childhood curriculum as constructed by kindergarten teachers at early career stages and then developed a collaborative model of educational planning. Subjects were 6 teachers at early career stages. Using the ethnographic method, data were collected by in-depth interviews. Research outcomes were : (1) teachers specifically worked on 'difficulties in adapting to the teaching job', 'age of children that the teacher cares for', 'integration of theory and practice', and 'variety of actual teaching situations.' (2) A model for collaborative educational planning was constructed on the basis of review of the literature on teachers' knowledge, educational planning for early childhood curriculum, and learning of community.

A comparative study on creativity according to major of college students: focusing on pre-service early childhood teachers, pre-designers and pre-engineers (대학생의 전공에 따른 창의성 비교 연구 : 예비유아교사, 예비디자이너, 예비공학자를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences of creativity according to major of college students focusing on pre-service early childhood teachers, pre-designers and pre-engineers. The subjects were 132 four grade of university students attending K and T university in Busan, Korea. Data were analyzed with one-way MANOVA to find out the differences of creativity according to their major. Results of this study as follows: first, overall creativity was significantly higher in preliminary designers than pre-service early childhood teachers and pre-engineers. Second, the fluency of pre-service early childhood teachers and pre-designers was significantly higher than that of pre-service engineers. The abstraction was significantly higher in pre-service early childhood teachers than pre-engineers. The elaboration of pre-designers was significantly higher than that of pre-service teachers and pre-engineers. Openness was significantly higher in pre-designers than pre-engineers, and pre-engineers were significantly higher than pre-service early childhood teachers. Therefore, this study suggests that the major in creativity curriculum and program development for college students should be considered, and the results of this study will be used as basic data of the creativity education program.

The Mediating Effects of Self-esteem on the Relationship between Economic Level and Teaching Efficacy : Focused on Early Childhood Preservice Teacher (경제적 수준과 교수효능감의 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과: 예비유아교사를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation on the relationship between economic level, self-esteem and teaching efficacy first, and then to investigate the mediating effects of self-esteem on the relationship between economic level and teaching efficacy. The subjects of this study were 457 students who attend two collages in Incheon and all of them were majoring in early childhood education. The collected data were analyzed through SPSS Window program. Correlation analysis and Multiple regression analysis were conducted. Results showed the there were correlation among economic level, self-esteem and teaching efficacy. Also there were mediating effects of self-esteem on the relationship between economic level and personal teaching efficacy. As a whole the result of this study showed the teaching efficacy of early childhood preservice teacher were more influenced by self-esteem than by economic level. The implication of the result were discussed with the necessity of curriculum development to improve the student's self-esteem.

A Metaphor Study for the with Children with Disabled Child of Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers : from Disability Study Perspective (예비유아교사의 장애아에 대한 은유연구: 장애학의 관점에서)

  • This study is to examine the metaphor of pre-service early childhood teachers for the children with disabilities through the disability studies perspective. For this purpose, 213 pre-service early childhood teachers who were the students of universities in Busan and Gyeongnam area were selected as target objects, and data were collected from Sep. 15 to 29, 2015. The collected data were categorized and quantified based on the systematic metaphor analysis. As a result, the metaphor for the children with disabilities of pre-service early childhood teachers were categorized into 4 types such as medicine-limit type, medicine-diversity type, society-limit type and society-diversity. The result of this study would be utilized as basic data required for consideration with regard to the direction of integrated education and for increasing the professional speciality of teachers who perform the integrated education in the training course for pre-service early childhood teachers.

A Study on the Activation Plan for Early Childhood SW·AI Education Based on Actual Condition Survey of Kindergarten SW·AI Education (유치원 SW·AI 교육 실태조사를 기초로 한 유아 SW·AI 교육 활성화 방안에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest implications for early childhood SW·AI education considering the characteristics of early childhood education through a survey on SW·AI education in kindergartens. For this study, data were collected from 194 kindergartens through convenience sampling. The data was analyzed using frequency distribution, and it was found that 44% of kindergartens are conducting SW·AI education. 22% are conducting SW·AI education in the form of regular curriculum, and 70% are conducting SW·AI education in the form of special activities after school. SW·AI education was found to be conducted mainly by external instructors (97%) in the classroom (80%). For SW·AI education, block coding-based programs developed by companies such as Naver and the Clova were used, and all of these programs used programs and teaching aids in a package format, including teaching aids and materials developed by companies. 56% answered that they are not currently conducting SW/AI education, and lack of awareness on SW·AI education and lack of human/environmental infrastructure were the main factors. In order to realize SW·AI education considering the characteristics of early childhood education based on this survey, First, SW·AI education programs should be developed to develop play-centered computational thinking skills. Second, systematic teacher education at the national level should be conducted. Finally, the establishment of a department dedicated to early childhood SW·AI consisting of early childhood education experts and SW·AI education experts and financial support at the national level should be provided.

The Effect of Teacher Support Program for the Integration of Handicapped Children on Teaching Efficacy of Daycare Center Teachers (장애 유아 통합보육을 위한 교사 지원이 어린이집 교사의 교사 효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of teacher support program for integration of handicapped children on teaching efficacy of daycare center teachers. Methods: In the study, 12 day care teachers in 4 day care centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were selected as experimental groups and 12 teachers in 5 day care centers were selected as control group. Teacher education is carried out through group education, such as understanding of developmental area, curriculum modification, activity-based embedded intervention, cooperative learning, direct teaching, disability understanding education, behavior support, family support. Individual teacher education provided counseling on the reality of child care for children with disabilities that reflects the needs of teachers for integrated child care for handicapped children. Teacher's Efficacy in Inclusive Practices (TEIP) was used as a pre post test to measure teacher's efficacy change. In order to analyze the results of the study, two independent sample t tests were conducted on the difference between pre-post test of teacher efficacy between the two groups. Results: As a result, There was a significant difference in the pre-post change of teacher efficacy between the two groups. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study are as follows, teacher support program provided immediate feedback in integrated child daycare center for the handicapped children, child care teachers improved their integrated handicapped children care expertise, provided responsive teacher support program to the actual needs of the site, teacher support program reflected various variables related to integration, and emphasized the cooperative relationship between researcher and child daycare center teacher. The results of this study can be used as actual data of field where lack of support for the integration of handicapped children is lacking.

A Comparison Analysis on the Contents of Child 'Safety Education' Activities in 3~4 Year Old Nuri Curriculum Manual for Teachers (만3세와 만4세 누리과정 교사용 지도서에 나타난 유아 '안전교육' 활동의 내용 비교 분석)

  • This study is aimed at a comparison analyzing the contents of child 'safety education' in Three-four-year-old Nuri curriculum manual for teachers related activity type and activity form, life theme based on the criteria of analysis. First, the number of contents of child 'safety education' included in the 3 year old Nuri curriculum manual for teachers was 136, and among them, 71(52.2%) were from in big and small group activity. Total 124 contents were in 4-year old group and showed 58(46.8%) contents in big and small group activity. Second, it was identified that the Three-four-year-old Nuri curriculum handled highest number of child 'safety education' activities. Twenty-five activities from 'appliances' among a total of 127 child 'safety education' activities were included and included 21 activities in contents of 'safety for object, tool, and apparatus.' Thirty-three activities among 'health and safety' among a total of 131 child 'safety education' activities were included and it was identified that the highest number of child 'safety education' activities were conducted in 'safety for disease' contents. It will be hope to suggest some of the providing child 'safety education' of Three-four-year-old in education field, and to provide basic data for planning and suggesting directions for various training related to child safety education. Moreover, this study intends to provide basic data for composing necessary manual and program for child 'safety education' and to provide basic data for expanding the safety experience facility.
