The convergence factors on which the subject of basic dental hygienics has influence (기초치위생 교과목이 영향을 미치는 융합적 요인)

  • The Purpose of this study was to convergence factors which affect the subject of basic dental hygienics in some dental hygiene students. The questionnaire was conducted in 450 dental hygiene students who had completed clinical practice. The level of self-confidence of the students was significantly higher if the level of satisfaction with the subject of basic dental hygienics was higher (r=0.365). Also, the level of self-confidence was significantly higher if the satisfaction with the major was higher (r=0.320) and the level of satisfaction with the major was significantly higher if the level of satisfaction with the subject of basic dental hygienics was higher (r=0.314). This study is expected to be used as a basic material for the development of systematic and convergence programs related with basic dental hygiene in connection with clinical practice.

A Study on the Types of Work Values of the Dental Hygiene Students (일부 치위생과 학생들의 직업가치관)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the job value type of dental hygiene students. The questionaire given to 823 dental hygiene students from three college in Gwangju and Chunnam Colleges. The results of this study were as follows: 1. dental hygiene students, job value type were divided 6 categories: Competency, Contribution, Achievement, Reward, status, stability. 2. The higher status was at c college and at good relationship group and more perceived bad health and at work experience group. 3. The higher was reward at c college and lower grade and at good relationship group and more perceived good health and at work experience group. 4. The higher was status at c college and lower grade and lower age and at work experience group. 5. The higher was competency at c college and at good relationship group and more perceived bad health and .at work experience group. 6. The higher was contribution lower grade and more perceived bad health and at work experience group. 7. The higher was achievement at c college and at good relationship group and more perceived good health group.

Reliability and Validity of the Korean Version of Job Embeddedness for Measurement Tool of Dental Hygienist (치과위생사의 한국어판 직무착근도 측정도구의 타당도와 신뢰도)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate a reliability and validity of the Korean version for measuring tool the job embeddedness of dental hygienists. The survey was modified and revised to fit into Korean culture. A survey was conducted with 274 dental hygienists in dental clinics. The data was used for the analysis of the study, using PASW Statistics 18.0 and IBM SPSS AMOS 7.0. The factor analysis showed that the job embeddedness of the dental hygienists was composed of three elements, namely 'organization fit', 'job connectivity', and 'personnel relationships'. The validity of the model examined by a confirmatory factor analysis satisfied most of the relevant requirements. All of the factors had the conceptual reliability and variant extracted index above the minimum requirements, ensuring reliability and concentrated validity. The Cronbach's alpha shows a good reliability. In conclusion, it was proven that dental hygienist's job embeddedness measurement tool has high validity and reliability. Further, this study could be used to improve dental hygienist's long term working, and the growth stage of dental clinic.

A Status of Determinant of the Intention to Turnover for Dental Hygienists (치과위생사의 이직실태와 이직결정 요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study purpose is assessment to intention of turnover for dental hygienists. The study population was dental hygienists who registered at conference of Korean Dental Hygienists Association. Finally 1,955 among 2,040 were finished the question and response(response rate 95.8%). Statistical analysis conducted using SPSS 18.0K for Windows. The difference on the distribution of independent variables related with experience of turnover analyzed with Chi-square test. The results of this research could be summarized as follows: The rate of the dental hygienists experienced of turnover was 46.8%. The unmarried dental hygienists were more intended than the married ones(p<0.001). More higher education group, more higher working experience group, more higher income group, more aged group had more turnover(p<0.001). The reason of turnover were environment of employment(night work, 23.7%), personal reasons(19.1%), conditions of employment(14.6%). In conclusion, this study suggests that set up a strategy of career life for dental hygienists in dental clinic.

Convergence factors of emotional labor of clinical practice and self-esteem on professional identity in some dental hygiene students (일부 치위생(학)과 학생들의 임상실습 감정노동과 자아존중감이 직업정체감에 미치는 융합적 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the convergence factors affecting professional identity perceived by the emotional labor of clinical practice and self-esteem in some dental hygiene students. The questionnaire was conducted in 205 dental hygiene students from 3 university in Jeollanam-do area. The data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0. Professional identity correlated positively with self-esteem(r=0.366, p<0.01), negatively with emotional labor of clinical practice(r=-0.213, p<0.01). The convergence factors influencing professional identity were satisfaction level with majors(${\beta}=0.434$), self-esteem(${\beta}=0.236$) and emotional labor of clinical practice(${\beta}=-0.199$). The regression model explained 34.6% of professional identity. Therefore, to enhance professional identity in dental hygiene students, it is required to program development to improve satisfaction level of with majors, self-esteem and management of emotional labor of clinical practice.

The Relationship between the Leadership and the Organizational Effectiveness of the Dental Hygienists (치과위생사의 코칭리더십과 조직 효과성과의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of coaching leadership on organizational effectiveness of dental hygienists. A survey was conducted on dental hygienists in Busan and Kyungnam from December 7, 2016 to January 15, 2017. A total of 215 questionnaires were included in analysis. The influence factors of coaching leadership on the rapport-building between the leaders and the members included the leader's direction (p<0.001) and relationship (p<0.001). The influence factors of coaching leadership on organizational commitment included the leader's relationship (p<0.001), direction (p<0.05), development (p<0.05), and accountability (p<0.05). The influence factors of coaching leadership on job satisfaction included the leader's relationship (p<0.001) and development (p<0.01). The coaching leadership of dental hygienists has been found to make a positive influence on the organizational effectiveness. It is believed that systematic and comprehensive coaching leadership training for dental hygienists must be conducted to build up trust between the leaders and the members, facilitate communication, and enhance job commitment and performance. Furthermore.

A study on the Image for Dental Hygienists and Influence Factor in Academic High School Students (일부지역 인문계 고등학생의 치과위생사 이미지 및 영향요인 분석)

  • The aim of this study was to examine the image for dental hygienists and influence factor in academic high school students. A self-reported questionnaire was surveyed by 211 high school student in G area. the data were analyzed for frequency analysis, average, standard deviation, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, pearson's correlation coefficient by using SPSS 21.0 program. In case of general high-school students, occupational and business images were higher significantly. The social images were higher significantly in case of having introduction or explanation for dental hygienists. In addition, the self-esteem showed significant differences depending on the oral condition. There were positive correlations among the occupational, business, personal, social images of dental hygienists and self-esteem. Multiple regression analysis showed that highest in occupational images.

Convergence of Smartphone Motivation, Stress, and Interpersonal Satisfaction on the Dependence of Dental Hygiene Students (치위생 학생의 스마트폰 이용동기, 스트레스, 대인관계만족도가 과의존에 미치는 융합 연구)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of motive of use, stress and interpersonal satisfaction on smartphone overdependence in dental hygiene undergraduates. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 216 dental hygiene students in colleges in Dajeon and Chungnam regions. The results showed that motive of use(3-4hours/>4hours)(${\beta}=-0.178$), weekday usage (<3hours/3-4hours)(${\beta}=0.163$), and weekday usage (${\beta}=0.196$) had a high impact on smartphone overdependence in dental hygiene students. Weekday usage dummy 1 was the factor with the greatest impact, with an explanatory power of 25.6%. Additional studies on various factors that affect smartphone overdependence as well as education programs for preventing smartphone overdependence in dental hygiene students are needed.

On Convergence Impact Influencing of Satisfaction Clinical Practice of Dental Hygienist students (치위생(학)과 학생들의 임상실습만족도에 영향을 미치는 융합 요인)

  • This study was to identify factors influencing satisfaction on clinical practice of dental hygienist students located in G, J region. The data was analyzed by t-test, Anova, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS 21.0 program. There were significant in satisfaction of score(F=2.925, p<.05), perceive heath status(F=8.108, p<.001), satisfaction on department(F=8.198, p<.001). The relationship on peers with score(r=.277, p=.01) and perceive health status correlations with relationships on peers(r=.327, p=.01), The satisfaction on clinical practice had positive correlations with score(r=.127, p=.05), perceive health status(r=.226, p=.01), relationship on peers(r=.240, p=.01). The factors influencing satisfaction on clinical practice were satisfaction of relationship on peers, satisfaction of department, perceive health status. The results suggest that development of program to improve satisfaction on clinical practice of dental hygiene students.

A Study on Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of Dental Hygienists Working in Dental Clinics (치과의원에 근무하는 치과위생사의 직무 스트레스와 직무만족에 관한 연구)

  • This study was attempted to look into relation between job stress and job satisfaction perceived by clinical dental hygienists and the influencing factors for providing fundamental data to increase their job satisfaction. For this, mailed correspondence examination was conducted with questionnaire for dental hygienists who are engaged in dental hygiene duties at dental clinics in Seoul between June 19 and July 24, 2008. Total 180 questionnaires were distributed, and among these, 156 questionnaires were included in analysis except for 24 questionnaires having incomplete answers. The findings of this study are as follows: 1. The total mean of dental hygienists' job stress was found to be 3.46 points out of 5 points, and that of their job satisfaction to be 2.99. 2. For relation between general characteristics and job stress of dental hygienists, significant difference was found just in the motive to select dental hygienist (p < 0.001) and the expected period of engagement in dental hygienist duties (p < 0.05). 3. For relation between general characteristics and job satisfaction of dental hygienists, significant difference was found just in job experience(p < 0.05), current position (p < 0.05), average salary (p < 0.001), and the expected period of engagement in dental hygienist duties (p < 0.01). 4. For correlation between job stress and job satisfaction, negative correlation was shown generally (r=-0.222), such that the more was job stress, the less was job satisfaction. 5. As a result of multiple regression analysis to look into the job stress factors influencing dental hygienists' job satisfaction, it was found that the factors of excessive workload(p < 0.05) and improper treatment(p < 0.01) most influenced job satisfaction, and the descriptive power on the job stress factors influencing their job satisfaction was found to be 24.1%.
