The Effects of Open Kitchen Employees' Emotional Labor on Job Satisfaction and Customer Orientation (오픈 주방 종사원의 감정노동이 직무만족과 고객 지향성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study conducted frequency analysis to explain demographic characteristics using SPSS 18.0 in order to examine the effects of emotional labor of open kitchen employees working for hotels or food service companies. In addition, factor analyses and reliability analyses were performed to test validity and reliability of measured items, and this study also conducted regression analyses in order to test proposed hypotheses in this study. Results are as follows: First, for the effects of the emotional labor of open kitchen employees on job satisfaction, it was found that deep acting has positive effects on job satisfaction, whereas surface acting has negative effects on it. Second, the result shows that job satisfaction has a positive (+) effect on customer orientation. Third, it was found that deep acting has positive effects on customer orientation, while surface acting does not have any significant effects on it. It is considered that supervisors and colleagues' support and assistance are required as a way of reducing emotional labor of employees who work in the open kitchen.

Influence of a Nutrition Teacher's Servant Leadership on Cooks' Empowerment & Organizational Commitment (영양교사의 서번트 리더십이 조리원의 임파워먼트와 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to identify the influence of a nutrition teacher's servant leadership on cooks' empowerment and organizational commitment in school organization. For this purpose, this study selected 288 cooks working in elementary, middle and high schools located in Daegu city, and conducted a survey toward them. The collected data were analyzed with the frequency analysis, the reliability verification, the correlation test, and the multi-regression analysis. As the results testing the hypotheses, the following 3 hypotheses were chosen as valid ones. First hypothesis: A nutrition teacher's servant leadership will positively(+) influence on cooks' empowerment. Second hypothesis: A nutrition teacher's servant leadership will positively(+) influence on cooks' organizational commitment. Third hypothesis: A cook's servant empowerment will positively(+) influence on his/her organizational commitment. Therefore, nutrition teachers should exercise their servant leadership so that cooks can be responsible for the quality of school meals and perform their work on the basis of autonomy and creativity. In order to perform the role of a servant leader, nutrition teachers will need to continually get various educational, training programs for enhancing their servant leadership.

Union Effects on Nonunion Wages: A Regional Panel Data Analysis for Korea (노동조합이 비조합원 임금에 미치는 영향: 지역 수준 분석)

  • Using data sets from the Korean Labour and Income Panel Study (KLIPS) for the period 2003-2015, this study shows that wages of nonunion workers are positively related to the percentage of unionized workers in the same geographic region. A 10 percentage point increase in a region's union density is associated with a 4.9 percent increase in the region's average wage of nonunion workers. It is also shown that this positive spillover effect is observed for various subgroups of nonunion workers, including women, youth, low-educated workers, small firm employees, and those employed under nonstandard work arrangements. In contrast, the average wage of union workers is found to respond insignificantly to changes in a region's union density.

Effects of University-based Science Gifted Education Programs on the Science Career Orientation of Gifted (대학부설 과학영재교육원 프로그램이 영재들의 과학진로지향에 주는 영향 분석)

  • This study analyzed the effects of university-based science education programs on the gifted's science career orientation. The subject of this study was 74 students who had university-based science gifted education programs on 2014. They took 'Science Career Orientation' tests and questionnaires before and after the program. We had a cluster analysis about pre scores on 'Science Career Orientation' as a variable. We analyzed the satisfaction level and effect of science career decision by groups after the program. As results, they were divided into four groups by cluster analysis. University-based science education program helped the increase of science career orientation in the categories indicating the low scores of the groups. They showed high satisfaction level and positive effects of science career decision, and the programs affecting their science career decision and satisfaction about that were different by groups. Satisfaction level and effects of science career decision are highly correlated.

  • In this study, an empirical analysis was made with intent to establish an appropriate marketing business strategy for customers by inquiring into the effect of service education of 250 Korean restaurant employees, who provide services for foreign tourists in Seoul area as professional customers, on service orientation and organizational effectiveness. The result is summarized as follows. The effect of service education of Korean restaurants' employees on service orientation showed that the typicality, reliability, confidence and empathy have a positive effect on the service orientation. For the effect of service orientation on organizational effectiveness, the service orientation had a positive effect on the job satisfaction and organizational effectiveness. In other words, it was proven that the typicality, reliability, confidence and empathy of employees education are key mechanisms in improving their behaviors and attitudes to aim for important customer-centered services. Consequently, the backup of these attitudes and customer-oriented behaviors can be connected to the increase of productivity, which enhances the organizational effectiveness.

  • This paper investigated the effects of employee's personality on organizational citizenship behavior(OCB) and customer orientation in service business. Based on the literature search about personality, OCB and customer orientation, this study conducted a survey to total 207 service employees who engage in food service business. The findings of the research are as follows. First, service employee's personality consists of neuroticism, extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness and intelligence. Second, service employee's OCB is affected by intelligence, agreeableness, conscientiousness and extroversion of a service employee. Third, service employee's extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness and intelligence positively affect service employee's customer orientation, and service employee's neuroticism negatively affect service employee's customer orientation. Fourth, service employee's customer orientation is affected by employee's OCB. The findings of this research shows that service employee's personality affects OCB and customer orientation.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of hotel training satisfaction to on the job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and service quality. The sample was obtained during 3weeks periods from Oct $14^{th}$ 2017 to Nov $4^{th}$ 2017 and out of 230 copies of the questionnaire, 223 copies responded with sincerity were made an object of the analysis. The results of the study were as follows, Firstly, training had an positive impact on the job satisfaction, Secondly, training significantly effected on organizational commitment. And practical training in the hotel has a positive impact on improving the quality of service. Third, job satisfaction has a positive effect on quality of service. Finally, organizational commitment also has a positive effect on service quality.

  • The purpose of this study, we examined the influencing factors of acceptance of new information systems and attitude formation in 279 local government officials who were exposed to the use of new information technology, and examined the moderating role of technostress and absorptive capacity. As a result, technostress negatively affected attitudes by moderating perceived ease of use, and absorptive capacity generated a positive effect that further increased perceived usefulness. Technostress and absorptive capacity have both direct and moderating effects on attitudes. It suggests that management of technostress and absorptive capacity, which affects the formation of attitudes toward information technology acceptance, becomes more important for local government officials who need to accept new information technology through Top-Down decision making. In particular, we discussed ways to reduce technostress in order to prevent cognitive dissonance about determinants of technology acceptance.

  • 본 논문은 등고선을 이용한 입력된 지표면에 대하여, 전자파 영향을 계산하는 프로그램 개발에 관한 것이다 기존의 등고선 입력 방법을 구현하여 삼차일 지표면 입력을 받는다. 삼차원 지표면 입력에 대하여, 전각 기지국을 설치하고, 지표면에는 수신 이동 국이 존재한다고 가정한다. 국부에 대한 전자파 영향을 예측하기 위하여, 지표면을 표현하는 다각형을 작은 삼각형으로 분리한다. 분리된 삼각형에 대하여 기하학적인 방법을 사용하여 전자파 전파 시뮬레이션이 이루어진다. 등고선 입력 방법은 저렴한 삼차원 지표면 입력 방법이며, 사용된 기하학 적인 전파 영향 계산법은 계산 시간을 줄이면서 효율적으로 전자파 영향을 예측할 수 있게 해 준다.

The Effects of Social Recognitions on Occupational Confidence and Job Satisfaction Among Hotel Employees in Daeion Area (호텔종사원의 사회적인식이 직업의식과 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study was done to find out how social recognitions to affect hotel employees' self-confidence in their job and job satisfaction. For the purpose of the study, literatures on job satisfaction and occupational self-confidence were reviewed and empirical analysis were carried out with the hotel employees in Daejeon area. Through the study we found that hotel employees with family members who showed a positive attitude for the hoteliers showed higher degree of occupational confidence and job satisfaction for their job. The study also found that there was a significant relations between social recognitions and job satisfaction. In addition, the study showd that job confidence and job satisfaction were significantly correlated.
