Study on the Real Condition and Understanding of the Early Childhood Educator About the Personality Education (인성교육에 대한 영유아교사의 인식 및 실태 연구)

  • Although this research puts the emphasis on the importance of the personality education, and lacks the understanding of the early childhood educator about the personality education, and essentially the content analysis of the direction of the operation of the personality education hasn't been performed. Therefore through the research study once again we collected the opinion of the early childhood educator about the personality education. As the object of the investigation, we questioned 208 teachers who work in the Daycare Center in the S city, and applied the SPSS 18.0 program. The result is as the following. First, there was a lot of concern in the understanding of the early childhood educator about the personality education, and that it was in need. The reason for emphasizing the personality education appears to be the "Individual Egoism", and the "Parental Value" as the factor of influence, and "Whole People Human Development and Health Promotion" as a factor of helping, and "Courage" as the inner information of the information of the personality education, and "Manner" as the outer information. Secondly, more than the majority was carrying out the personality education in the real state of the early childhood educator on the personality education and it happens to be that the instructional material is the "Material related to the personality education", "Conversation" as the teaching learning method, "Once per week" as number of times, "Within 30 minutes" as lead time, "Teacher in Charge" as the host, and "Uncooperative parents" as the difficulty. Lastly the accurate time of demanding the early childhood educator about the personality education happens to be from "Infancy", and the teaching method is "Teaching by making a connection with the family", and that "Leading by example of the teacher" is the factor of consideration.

Relation among Mother's Interaction Behavior, Mother's Language Input and Children's MLU: A Comparison between Multicultural- and Korean-Families (어머니의 상호작용행동 및 언어입력과 영·유아의 언어발달과의 관계: 다문화가정과 일반가정의 비교)

  • Maternal interaction behavior, language input and children's language of 34 multicultural families were compared with those of ordinary families. MLU's of multicultural mothers and their children were shorter than those of ordinary Korean mothers and children. Positive maternal interaction behaviors of multicultural mothers were significantly lower than those of ordinary mothers. Correlational analyses revealed that there were positive correlations among maternal interaction behaviors, mother's MLU and children' MLU in multicultural families. However, there were no such correlations in ordinary families. Findings suggest language education and support for multicultural mothers be an effective policy for their children's language development.

The Development of Logical and Mathematical Thinking in 1-to 3-Year-Olds : Examined by Physical Knowledge Activities (물리적 지식활동을 통해서 본 1~3세 영유아의 초기 논리·수학적 사고 발달)

  • The logical and mathematical thinking of 1- to 3-year-olds was studied by age groups at 6 month intervals; logical-mathematical thinking was examined by the two physical knowledge activities of cylinder rolling and making a slope. Results showed that in their early 1st year infants failed in both tasks. Infants in their late 2nd year showed understanding of 'rolling things' and 'non-rolling things' by comparing cylinders and cubes in the cylinder rolling activity and they showed 'spatial inference' by adjusting the position and direction of the cylinder so that the cylinder could roll properly and by adjusting the board on a block in the slope making activity. Three-year-old children rolled a cylinder and made a slope without difficulty.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the features of Korean infants' vocalizations according to the stages models. A total 88 infants, whose ages range from 1 to 18 months, participated in this study. This age is a critical period for vocal development. However, the study of infants' vocalizations has typically focused on children over the age of two. Because of restrictions related to the study of younger infants, from birth to the age of two, it is usually difficult to investigate what are the major features of their vocal development. Therefore, this study provides documentation and analysis of the features of infant vocalization and their vocal development stages. The results shows that the stages model of Oller & Lynch (1992) might be adapted for Korean infants' vocal development. Furthermore, the features of the infants' vocalization are not linearly appeared one stage to the next stage, but are overlapped (Koopmans-van Beinum & van der Stelt, 1986; Nathani et al., 2006; Oller, 1980; Stark, 1980; Vihman, 1996).

  • 본 연구는 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존과 부모역할지능의 관계를 확인하여 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존 예방교육이 필요하다는 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 연구대상은 충북 청주시의 15개소의 어린이집에 다니고 있는 만 0~2세 어머니 220명이다. 연구도구는 스마트폰 과의존척도, 부모역할 지능척도를 사용하였다. 연구의 분석을 위하여 Pearson 적률상관관계, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존은 부모역할지능과 부적인 상관이 있었으며 발달적 자극, 양육 및 지지, 관리의 하위요인 모두에 부적상관이 있었다. 다중회귀분석을 통한 스마트폰 과의존과 부모역할지능 및 하위요인 모두에 부적으로 유의한 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 바람직한 영유아의 양육을 위하여 어머니를 위한 스마트폰 과의존 예방교육이 필요함을 시사한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to inquire into the theoretical background of music therapy interventions for the improvement of mathematical concepts among young children with special needs. The researcher provides a basis of theoretical background about musical activities as an effective tool for young children to understand and promote their mathematical concepts, and the necessity of practical application in the field of mathematics education is suggested. Music, as a multi-sensory modality, has an ability to hold and maintain one's attention, and can be used as a memory aid and a powerful and effective motivator and reinforcer for young children. Therefore, musical activities can be used to facilitate mathematical concepts in the field of education for young children. Possible musical activities for promoting mathematical development are suggested, and the necessity for developing various musical activities is discussed.

Effect of the Nutrition Education for Infant Feeding on Mother's Knowledge, Attitude, Practice of Weaning (영유아 섭식에 관한 영양교육이 어머니의 영양지식.태도 및 실천에 미치는 효과)

  • This study evaluated the effect of the nutrition education about infant feeding on the change of mother's knowledge, attitude and practice of weaning. The subjects consisted of treatment group (n=54) and control group (n=34). The treatment group participated in 6 times nutrition education and 5 times surveys. Nutrition education for weaning of the treatment group improved nutrition knowledge, attitude and practice in infant feeding. Before education, mean scores of control group and treatment group were 7.3 and 7.5 respectively but there was no significant difference. Both group got low score in a statement about weaning period, but they got good score in a statement about weaning method. After education, treatment group got better score(9.1) than control group(8.3) significantly (p<0.05). Treatment group was more desirable than control group specially in a use of Sun-sik, sugar, salt and weaning food mixed with formula after education (p<0.05). Practice of spoon feeding was more frequent in treatment group after education, however, control group used sugar and commercial weaning food more frequently than treatment group(p<0.05). Intake frequency of cow's milk and cookies of infants at age 9-12 month in control group was higher than treatment groups(p<0.01). Thus the nutrition education to mother seems to be effective in achieving desirable dietary behavior of infants.

The Subjective Perception on the Job Contents of Educare Teachers (보육교사의 직무에 대한 인식 유형)

  • The purpose of this study is analyzing newly the role of the educare teachers by finding the teachers' subjective perception on their duty and understanding its feature. With the research, I'd like to present the fundamental materials for re-training and education for specialty. I Q-sorted 17 teachers based on the 36 statements which had been selected carefully. The results are following. The first type is the teacher who is aiming the specialized education. The teacher of this type needs to have the comprehensible knowledge on the child-development and seeks the teacher's specialty with self-supervision and study group. The second type is the teacher who is pursuing safety and protection for the children. The teacher of this type considers safety and cleanness very important and thinks that he or she should take care of the children by the cooperation with parents. The third type is the teacher who is heading for everyday's life and improvement. He or she thinks that teaching the child daily life is significant and by it, the child should grow up. The results of the research show us 3 points. The first, we need to re-design training program for the educare teachers. The second, we should prepare the manual for the teachers in accordance with the infants' growing-up. The third, we should understand the teacher's type and train him or her in accordance with the type.

A Study on the Policy for Free Child Care for 0-2 Year old Children (영아 무상보육 정책 분석)

  • This study has attempted to suggest the direction for child care policy for 0-2 year old children in Korea from analysis on the issues included in the policy for free child care services of the Korean Government. For the analysis, such materials as governmental statistical reports of child care and policy and articles regarding free child care service in daily news papers during 2012 have been collected. From this study, it has been suggested that the policy for free child care for 0-2 year old children, in future, should take into account reliably carrying out matemity leave and parental leave arrangements, equity childcare support for working couples, realization of parental subsidies, expand parental choice, introduction of a small family day care system, providing information and knowledge on the development of infants and parenting. The suggestions of this study will contribute to the development and practice of an effective child care policy for 0-2 year children, which consider the needs and requirements of young children and their parents.

A Research for Functional Game based on AR Smartcare : Focusing on infant and child safety education (AR기반의 스마트케어를 위한 기능성게임 연구 : 영유아 안전교육을 중심으로)

  • Outdoor play for young children can promote the development of physical development, emotional development, and creativity development. However, due to safety accidents that occur in outdoor play, outdoor play is not progressed sufficiently. In this paper, we have developed smart functional educational games for AR education which can be easily used in early childhood education. In order to maximize the educational effect of the developed game and to provide customized education on the field, we conducted a focus group interview with a group of in - service child care teachers in the game design stage. Through this, we developed a functional game with AR system and verified the educational effect.
