User Interaction-based Graph Query Formulation and Processing (사용자 상호작용에 기반한 그래프질의 생성 및 처리)

  • With the rapidly growing amount of information represented in RDF format, efficient querying of RDF graph has become a fundamental challenge. SPARQL is one of the most widely used query languages for retrieving information from RDF dataset. SPARQL is not only simple in its syntax but also powerful in representation of graph pattern queries. However, users need to make a lot of efforts to understand the ontology schema of a dataset in order to compose a relevant SPARQL query. In this paper, we propose a graph query formulation and processing scheme based on ontology schema information which can be obtained by summarizing RDF graph. In the context of the proposed querying scheme, a user can interactively formulate the graph queries on the graphic user interface without making efforts to understand the ontology schema and even without learning SPARQL syntax. The graph query formulated by a user is transformed into a set of class paths, which are stored in a relational database and used as the constraint for search space reduction when the relational database executes the graph search operation. By executing the LUBM query 2, 8, and 9 over LUBM (10,0), it is shown that the proposed querying scheme returns the complete result set.

A Study on VoiceXML Application of User-Controlled Form Dialog System (사용자 주도 폼 다이얼로그 시스템의 VoiceXML 어플리케이션에 관한 연구)

  • VoiceXML is new markup language which is designed for web resource navigation via voice based on XML. An application using VoiceXML is classified into mutual-controlled and machine-controlled form dialog structure. Such dialog structures can't construct service which provide free navigation of web resource by user because a scenario is decided by application developer. In this paper, we propose VoiceXML application structure using user-controlled form dialog system which decide service scenario according to user's intention. The proposed application automatically detects recognition candidates from requested information by user, and then system uses recognition candidate as voice-anchor. Also, system connects each voice-anchor with new voice-node. An example of proposed system, we implement news service with IT term dictionary, and we confirm detection and registration of voice-anchor and make an estimate of hit rate about measurement of an successive offer from information according to user's intention and response speed. As the experiment result, we confirmed possibility which is more freely navigation of web resource than existing VoiceXML form dialog systems.

Analysis of the Algebraic Thinking Factors and Search for the Direction of Its Learning and Teaching (대수의 사고 요소 분석 및 학습-지도 방안의 탐색)

  • School algebra starts with introducing algebraic expressions which have been one of the cognitive obstacles to the students in the transfer from arithmetic to algebra. In the recent studies on the teaching school algebra, algebraic thinking is getting much more attention together with algebraic expressions. In this paper, we examined the processes of the transfer from arithmetic to algebra and ways for teaching early algebra through algebraic thinking factors. Issues about algebraic thinking have continued since 1980's. But the theoretic foundations for algebraic thinking have not been founded in the previous studies. In this paper, we analyzed the algebraic thinking in school algebra from historico-genetic, epistemological, and symbolic-linguistic points of view, and identified algebraic thinking factors, i.e. the principle of permanence of formal laws, the concept of variable, quantitative reasoning, algebraic interpretation - constructing algebraic expressions, trans formational reasoning - changing algebraic expressions, operational senses - operating algebraic expressions, substitution, etc. We also identified these algebraic thinking factors through analyzing mathematics textbooks of elementary and middle school, and showed the middle school students' low achievement relating to these factors through the algebraic thinking ability test. Based upon these analyses, we argued that the readiness for algebra learning should be made through the processes including algebraic thinking factors in the elementary school and that the transfer from arithmetic to algebra should be accomplished naturally through the pre-algebra course. And we searched for alternative ways to improve algebra curriculums, emphasizing algebraic thinking factors. In summary, we identified the problems of school algebra relating to the transfer from arithmetic to algebra with the problem of teaching algebraic thinking and analyzed the algebraic thinking factors of school algebra, and searched for alternative ways for improving the transfer from arithmetic to algebra and the teaching of early algebra.

Analysis of the relationship between e-brand personalities and visual attributes (웹페이지 디자인의 이브랜드 개성 구축을 위한 시각조형특성 분석)

  • The brand personality of online products and services is know as its e-brand personality. Although, in the competitive conditions of online markets, e-brand personality is agreed to be an important factor, few studies have suggested how to establish e-brand personality through the visual design of web sites. This study identifies and verifies causal relationships between the visual attributes of web pages and e-brand personalities. The first identifies four major dimensions of e-brand personality on diverse web sites. The second uses 52 experimental home pages to identify key visual attributes associated with those four personality dimensions. The third is a confirmatory study with 16 experimental web sites that verifies causal relationships between visual attributes and e-brand personalities. The results show that two visual attributes, 'simplicity' and 'cohesion,' help to establish a 'bold' personality. Three attributes, 'contrast,' 'density,' and 'regularity,' affect whether a site has an 'analytical' personality. 'Contrast,' 'cohesion,' 'density,' and 'regularity' all influence whether a web site is perceived to have a 'friendly' personality. 'Regularity' and 'balance' were expected to affect the 'sophisticated' personality dimension, but no such impact was observed. The paper concludes with a discussion of implications, limitations, and future research directions.

복지형 아이디어 지원 플랫폼을 활용한 개발도상국 지원 방안에 관한 연구

  • 주요 선진국에서는 개발도상국을 지원하기 위해 자금, 교육, 의료, 인프라 등 다양한 프로그램이 존재하고 있다. 하지만 개발도상국이 지속적으로 성장하기 위해서는 창의적인 활동의 증가, 사회문제 해결형 혁신 등 실질적인 도움으로 연결될 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구는 복지형 아이디어 지원 플랫폼의 대표적인 모델로써 창조경제타운을 개발도상국으로 확산하는 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 통해 개발도상국의 창의적인 아이디어가 발현되고 혁신형 창업으로 연결될 수 있는 적용 가능성을 탐색하였다. 개발도상국에서 국민들이 아이디어를 제안하면 선진국의 전문가들이 재능기부 형식으로 온라인 멘토링을 수행하고, 우수한 아이디어의 경우에는 세계은행 등과 협력하여 실제 사업화를 지원할 수 있어야 할 것이다. 성공적인 사업화 지원을 위해서는 언어 번역기, 화상회의 시스템 등이 필요하고, 선진국과 개발도상국 정부와의 협력을 통해 사업화 지원 프로그램이 확산될 수 있도록 해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 접근법의 하나로 우리나라에서 성공적으로 운영되고 있는 창조경제타운 모델을 채택하였으며, 글로벌로 확대 시 필요한 요소들을 조사함으로써 지속가능한 선-후진국간 글로벌 혁신 플랫폼의 한 형태를 제안하는데 목적이 있다.

A Study on the Nature of the Mathematical Reasoning (수학적 추론의 본질에 관한 연구)

  • The aims of our study are to investigate the nature of mathematical reasoning and the teaching of mathematical reasoning in school mathematics. We analysed the process of shaping deduction in ancient Greek based on Netz's study, and discussed on the comparison between his study and Freudenthal's local organization. The result of our analysis shows that mathematical reasoning in elementary school has to be based on children's natural language and their intuitions, and then the mathematical necessity has to be formed. And we discussed on the sequences and implications of teaching of the sum of interior angles of polygon composed the discovery by induction, justification by intuition and logical reasoning, and generalization toward polygons.

On Representations of Linear Systems and Analysis for the Meaning of Elimination Method (연립일차방정식의 다양한 표현과 소거법의 의미에 관한 연구)

  • Linear system is a basic subject matter of school mathematics courses. Even though elimination is a useful method to solve linear systems, its fundamental principles were not discussed pedagogically. The purpose of this study is to help the development of mathematical content knowledge on linear systems conceptions. To do this, various representations and translations among them were considered, and in particular, the basic principles for elimination method are analyzed geometrically. Rectangular representation is used to solve word problem treated in numbers of things in elementary mathematics and it is useful as a pre-stage to introduce elimination. Slopes and intercepts of lines associated linear equations are used to obtain the Cramer's formula and this solving method was showing the connection between algebraic and geometric procedures. Strategy deleting variables of linear systems by elementary operations is explored and associated with the movements of lines in the family of lines passing through a fixed point. The development of mathematical content knowledge is expected to enhance pedagogical content knowledges.

A Study on the Prospective Mathematics Secondary Teachers' Introduction of Concepts of Function (예비 중등 수학교사들의 함수 개념의 도입 방식 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze and present what aspects of the concept of function prospective mathematics secondary teachers emphasize when designing a class that introduces the concept of function using curriculum and textbooks. For this purpose, virtual instruction and reflections on virtual instruction were analyzed. The results are as follows. The prospective mathematics secondary teachers consider and introduce the concepts of function as correspondences and processes. Their conception of function was consistently observed during virtual instruction and reflections on virtual instruction. The prospective mathematics secondary teachers' conception of function was closely related to the form of expressing functions. These results provi e implications for prospective mathematics secondary teachers' education for introducing the concept of function based on the dependent relation between variables presented in the 2015 revision of the national mathematics curriculum.

A Study on the Cultural Intermediary Characteristics of Korean Musical Enthusiasts: Focusing on the 'Live TALK' Chat Record of the Musical Marie Curie (한국 뮤지컬 마니아 관객의 문화매개자적 특성 연구 : 뮤지컬 <마리 퀴리> 라이브 TALK 채팅을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to identify the characteristics and meanings that Korean musical enthusiasts take on as cultural intermediaries of musical content by analyzing the real-time conversations they have while watching musicals performed in online spaces. To this end, the 'Live TALK' chat during the 'ontact' (online contact) performance of the musical Marie Curie was observed in real-time and subsequently analyzed in terms of the characteristics of online cultural intermediaries: their owned capital, their mediating language, and their relationship with the consumers. As a result of the analysis, musical enthusiasts were found to possess a wealth of cultural capital based on practical experience and inquiry, and to be utilizing specific identifying expressions in their language use. In addition, they appeared to be interactive in their communication with the general audience, which could be seen in the flow of spontaneous conversations as well as questions and answers occurring in the live chat. This study is significant in confirming that musical enthusiasts are positioning themselves as new cultural intermediaries through their cultural practices: taking on the role of guides and mediators in the online space 'Live TALK.'

A Study on the Exploration of English Learning Design Elements Applying Immersive Virtual Reality (몰입형 가상현실을 적용한 영어학습 설계요소 탐색에 관한 연구)

  • Virtual reality entered a new phase with the introduction of wearable devices represented by Oculus. This study proposes an immersive virtual reality based on Oculus Rift that enables direct immersion in virtual reality from a first-person perspective for English learning. At this point, it is meaningful to provide considerations when designing instruction for language learning through a comprehensive and integrated review of immersive virtual reality. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to find a way to maximize the application of language education in the immersive virtual world. And for the design elements for English learning through immersive virtual reality, the setting of learning theory, consideration of differences in learning, selection of learning tasks, regulation of teachers' influence, determination of types of applied senses, flexibility of design, and usage environment were suggested. By integrating the results, various discussions and directions for instructional design were presented.
