  • With the growth of the IoT market, malware security threats are steadily increasing for devices that use the linux architecture. However, except for the major malware causing serious security damage such as Mirai, there is no related technology or research of security community about linux malware. In addition, the diversity of devices, vendors, and architectures in the IoT environment is further intensifying, and the difficulty in handling linux malware is also increasing. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an analysis system based on ELF which is the main format of linux architecture, and a binary based analysis system considering IoT environment. The ELF-based analysis system can be pre-classified for a large number of malicious codes at a relatively high speed and a relatively low-speed binary-based analysis system can classify all the data that are not preprocessed. These two processes are supposed to complement each other and effectively classify linux-based malware.

  • Background: There is controversy surrounding the claim that current nursing workforce policies exacerbate the geographic imbalance of nurses in Korea, but very few studies have confirmed this assertion. Therefore, this study aimed to identify factors influencing the distribution of nurses at the regional level, including variables related to nursing workforce policies. Methods: This study analyzed the distribution of 225,462 practicing nurses across 250 regions in Korea as of 2020. National statistics were collected for these 250 regions, and regression analysis was conducted. Results: Factors influencing the distribution of practicing nurses included the number of annual inpatient days, integrated nursing care service beds, public healthcare institutions, tertiary hospitals, and general hospitals. Additionally, the number of nursing graduates and healthcare institutions with nurse staffing grade 1 and 2 had an impact on nurse distribution in non-capital regions. Conclusion: To prevent exacerbating the geographic imbalance of nurses, careful decisions should be made regarding the expansion of integrated nursing care service beds. Furthermore, it is necessary to increase the number of nursing students in non-capital regions and prioritize the improvement of wages and working conditions for nurses in those areas.

In addition, a comparison between passion for science subject matter knowledge and passion for science pedagogical knowledge was made for each group of teachers. Participants comprised 182 students from colleges of education and 161 in-service teachers. We analyzed between- and within-subject comparisons for each component of academic passion for science PCK. The results of this study are as follows: First, between-subject comparison demonstrated that, in academic passion for science subject matter knowledge, in-service teachers had a higher passion for "liking" and "importance" than pre-service teachers, whereas pre-service teachers had a higher passion for "time/energy investment" than in-service teachers. In academic passion for science pedagogical knowledge, pre-service teachers had a higher passion for "time/energy investment" than in-service teachers. Second, the within-subject comparison showed that only "harmonious passion" was higher for science pedagogical knowledge than science subject matter knowledge in pre-service teachers. However, "liking", "importance", "time/energy investment", and "obsessive passion" were higher for science subject matter knowledge than science pedagogical knowledge in in-service teachers. The educational implications are discussed.

  • This study explains the fundamental problems of MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) based on major survey results for MOOC and online courses conducted in the United States. Consequently, this study integrates the following conclusions and suggestions on how to improve MOOC and convergence of MOOC and universities under the current IT technology. First, the division into small sized classes will solve the problem of massiveness with MOOC. The problem of openness will be solved by providing differentiated courses based on placement tests; and the weakness of onlineness can be complemented through Flipped Learning methodologies. Second, in convergence of universities and MOOC, there are two desirable approache s: credit-free courses use the improved MOOC suggested in this study while credit courses are conducted by Flipped Learning, based on core online courses within departments. In addition, the credit courses offer intensive and supplementary ones together if possible. Third, MOOC will be utilized more widely as it will offer differentiated courses and be produced by education-based universities.

  • This study investigates differential impacts of the positive and negative content and the interaction with pacing, as a structural feature, on information processing while watching televised video clips with moderately intensive emotional tone. College participants watched six positive messages and six negative video clips lasting approximately 60 seconds. Heart rate was used to index attention and skin conductance was used to measure arousal. After all of the stimuli were shown, the participants performed the free recall questionnaire. The result demonstrates, first, positivity superiority on attention in which participants' heart rates were slower during positive content compared to during negative content. Secondly, negativity superiority was shown on free recall memory as participants remembered positive content better than did negative content. The result also manifests the interaction of emotional valence and pacing as the effects of pacing were less for the negatively emotional content compared to those for the positively emotional content. It is suggested that future studies should examine further about the differential and independent functions of positive and negative contents on information processing and the potential interaction with formal features.
