Purpose: This study was designed to analyze the effect of NIE to nursing students on the self-efficacy and professional self-conception in order to provide basic information to help develop meaning and value of nursing and promote the nursing profession. Methods: This study was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design quasi-experiment where the NIE was given to the test group twice a week totaling 17 times during the period of March to May, 2011. Collected data has been analyzed using SPSS 18.0. Results: There was no significant difference in general, self efficacy and professional self concept between the two groups. Scores of the experimental group in self efficacy and professional self concept after the intervention were significantly higher than those of the control group. Conclusion: NIE has been determined to be an educational method that will positively affect self-efficacy and professional self-conception in nursing students. Nursing students who challenge themselves and strive to excel in their studies and improve their problem-solving capacity will have enhanced value and socialization as a nurse.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether using English newspapers as supplementary teaching materials for the present textbook could increase students' English reading ability, interest in class and their willingness to take an active part in activities. Schools in rural areas, compared to urban schools, did not have the appropriate resources to teach students effectively. Understanding the disadvantages of the students in rural areas, one idea was to use newspapers to inspire the students to reach outside their local community and incorporate new styles of English and cultural aspects into their lives. The participants were 2nd grade high school students in the rural area. The experimental group received reading lessons with the textbook and English newspapers. They were also encouraged to make their own portfolios. The control group received reading lessons with the textbook and other supplementary materials. Before and after the experiment, reading comprehension tests as well as the questionnaires of interest and self-directed learning were administered. The results of this study were as follows: First, students' English reading ability was significantly improved in the experimental class using English newspapers. Second, students' interest and self-directed learning were positively increased in the same class above.

The purpose of this study is to look into the necessity of strengthening the knowledge base about longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate system in secondary educational curriculum. GPS based location service increases the use of longitude and latitude coordinate system. And many developed countries including USA and Japan have already included this contents in secondary education curriculum. But the secondary school Curriculum of Korea does not include the detailed contents regarding longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate system theory, and as a result the level of Korean students knowledge on this subject is low. The frequency of appearing of the information related to longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate systems in newspaper articles in Korea has been steadily increasing since after 2000. And a lot of articles appearing in newspapers provide the location information in the form of longitude and latitude coordinates, so the readers would be able to apply that. It was found out that the situation in schools is developed good enough for the use of spatial information system based upon the longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate system. The conclusion is that geography education in Korea needs systematical implementation of the knowledge base of longitudinal and latitudinal coordinate system.

본 연구는 코로나19 상황에서 대한민국 긴급재난지원금의 모습을 주요 신문사 뉴스 기사들을 통해 분석하고 그 결과를 제시하고자 한다. 분석대상은 2020년 3월 22일부터(긴급재난지원금 첫 보도) 5월 31일까지, 중앙일간지(11개 신문사)의 '긴급재난지원금' 관련 신문기사들이다. 신문기사 분석방법론은 관련 연구주제가 선행연구가 축적되지 않는 상황에서 나름 가치 있는 연구접근법이다. 본 연구에서는 뉴스기사 빅데이터 분석 서비스인 빅카인즈를 활용하여, 관련기사의 뉴스 트렌드, 연관어, 관계도 등을 분석하여 제시하였다. 본 연구는 향후 해당 분석대상을 가지고, 보다 밀도 있고 깊이 있는 언어네트워크(의미망) 분석으로 확장해 나갈 계획이다.

Recently, the status of public education has fallen and instead, the fever of private education has caused various social problem. Because of this private education, the polarization of education has become more serious. Under this circumstances, this study has focused on the effect of NIE (Newspaper in Education) which is expected to bring about some positive educational results. In foreign countries such as North America and European countries, NIE has already been introduced to schools. The educational effects of NIE has also been recognized. Korea also accepted NIE and expect positive educational effects. Therefore, the experimental study has been performed to prove the educational effect of NIE. Both for the middle school students and high school students, experimental group and control group were divided. After that, with the same study plan, experimental group studied with NIE method and control group studied with regular method. The results revealed that NIE method was effective to raise test scores. However, the subject interest and study attitude were not found to be related with the study methods. Implications were discussed.

This study was conducted to understand media and cultivate personality by using media as data for personality education. To achieve this purpose, the Personality Education Promotion Act and the Korea Educational Development Institute's personality virtues were selected as educational elements, and a personality education program using media was developed in combination with the middle school curriculum. For this study, first, in order to extract personality virtues, 13 personality virtues were finally selected as educational elements by comparing and synthesizing the personality virtues of the Personality Education Promotion Act and the Korea Education Development Institute. The final personality virtues selected are self-esteem, courage, sincerity, self-regulation, wisdom, consideration, communication, courtesy, social responsibility, cooperation, citizenship, justice, and respect for human rights. Second, in order to select media and set the direction of development of personality education programs, the process of collecting media data was confirmed, and the direction and goal of the program were set by analyzing the middle school curriculum. Third, in order to propose a method of applying a personality education program using media, the personality grafting unit was selected by referring to the commentary on all subjects of the 2015 revised curriculum.

This treatise is to study what kind of information marketing efforts each local autonomous entity makes to satisfy the inhabitants' right to know, followed by the abolition of Government Information Agency. Therefore I collected the efficient policy information methods and the data informing publicly policies by utilizing cartoons in each local autonomous entity. I intend to do the research focused on the information activity of local autonomous entities to secure the favor and trust by persuading the Information object of the policies based upon these data.

In this study, we developed elementary science education modules for facilitating students' understanding of the connected nature of Science-Technology-Society. For these modules, we particularly used news articles to make connections among science, technology, and society. We set up the development criteria as followings: connecting science-technology-society, aligning with national science curriculum, respecting students' interest, and appropriating the difficulty levels in terms and concepts. We also studied 4th grade students' perception of using these modules in science lessons. Most students perceived that using the modules in their science classes helped them link science-technology-society intimately and enhance their interest and motivation, as well as their self-esteem for studying science.

This study analyzes the "JunghagGanguilog (中學講義錄)" published by the JoseonTongsinJunghaggwan(朝鮮通信中學館), a correspondence school in the 1920s, as well as "Mungyoui Joseon (文敎の朝鮮)," "Sinjisig (新知識)," and newspaper articles to examine the situation of science education in correspondence education at that time. The study investigated the effectiveness of science education outside of schools by analyzing the content of chemistry lectures in correspondence education materials and comparing them with Qualification Exam questions. Correspondence education served as a communication channel for individuals in the 1920s who were unable to receive formal schooling and was a valuable educational method for those aiming to pass Qualification Exam for admission to higher-level schools. Due to the similarity between the chemistry lecture content and Qualification Exam questions, learners likely favored correspondence education, leading to higher learning abilities. Therefore, it can be seen that the Korean publication of "JunghagGanguilog" was a significant resource in the science education landscape at that time.

The 2015 revised mathematics curriculum encourages students to use graphs in newspapers and the Internet as materials when teaching graphs, and to experience a series of statistical problem-solving processes that collect, classify, organize, graph and interpret data. The graphs that the students learn through traditional textbooks were a single type of graphs. In particular, the graphs of the 5th and 6th grade groups were only increased in numbers, but the basic concepts were repeated in the 3rd and 4th grades. Fortunately, from the 2009 revision curriculum, it is possible to select the graph suitable for the situation while comparing the characteristics of some graphs. In most cases, the graphs used in the real world are presented in the form of a compounded infographics. The purpose of this study is to analyze and analyze the manifestations of information processing competence elements emphasized in the 2015 revised curriculum through the statistical project class using the informal graphic in the fifth grade of elementary school. And we suggested a concrete class plan.
