A Study on Simulation based Manufacturing in Shipyards : Focused on a Long-term Plan Verification (조선소에서의 시뮬레이션 기반 생산에 관한 연구 : 선표 계획 검증을 중심으로)

  • Productivity improvement of a shipbuilding company depends on how efficiently its limited resources are managed and utilized. Recently, research on modeling and simulation (M&S) to support shipyard production management system has been being under study. The production management based on M&S rejects decision making on experience, and it can establish productivity improvement method based on quantitative and specific data. In this paper, M&S is applied to the long-term plan as a part of the production planning in shipyards. To this end, the long-term plan processes and related management systems are analyzed. Based on the analysis, a simulation model and an application system using commercial simulation software are suggested. And basic structure of the suggested system is based on web technology such as Rich Internet Application, web services protocol for compatibility with existing shipyard enterprise systems. Utilizing the results of this study, it is expected that shipyard production planners can settle down work flow, in which one can establishes the production plan, simulates the plan, and analyzes the results, enabling a more reliable production plans.

유지선박의 충돌회피협력 동작 시점에 대한 연구

  • COLREGS의 규칙 17에는 피항선박만의 충돌회피동작으로 충돌을 피할 수 없을때 유지선박은 충돌을 피하기 위한 협력 행동을 취해야 한다고 명시되어 있다. 이 연구에서는 두 선박 간 충돌 시 각도별 거리(CDC)를 통해서 유지선박이 언제 충돌회피 협력 동작을 취해야 하는 시점을 제시하였다. 두 선박 간 충돌평가는 다양한 시나리오에 기반한 시뮬레이션을 통해 수행되었고, 시뮬레이션은 MMG 모델에 의해 설계되었다.

  • This research suggests a simulation model regarding the performance analysis of the Heat-Shrink-Tube manufacturing process using a simulation method. To analyze this study, firstly, we have collected the operating data from 'A' automobile parts company. Secondly, we have analyzed the collected data to apply a simulation model. Thirdly, we have developed a simulation model to experiment the process analysis and the line balancing methodology. The proposed simulation model can be executed by various input data without changing the simulation model and the performance of the Heat-Shrink-Tube Manufacturing system can be calculated by this model.

  • Productivity estimation of construction operations is crucial to successful project delivery. Especially in the preconstruction phase, the adequacy and effectiveness of plans directly affect the actual performance of operations. Currently, productivity estimation is conducted by referring to existing references such as the Construction Standard Production Rate. However, it is difficult to promptly apply changing conditions of operations when using such references. Moreover, it is difficult to deduce the optimal combination of construction machinery for the given condition. This paper presents a simple simulation model that can be used to generate productivity data that considers site conditions and construction equipment combination. The suggested method is expected to be used as a decision making assisting tool for practitioners who rely on estimations using the Construction Standard Production Rate when establishing construction plans using heavy machinery such as backhoes, loaders and dumptrucks.

  • The initial step in the construction process, estimating appropriate construction time and expense is the most important factor that would influence the result of the construction. In order to enhance productivity and efficiency, there is a need to analyze and manage rationally. The purpose of this project is to make a simulation model for all subway tunnel construction based on the NATM method, also give an support equipment that would make available to plan and analyze the construction. The development of simulation model is based on a real case construction analysis process and also on the reference data. It reflects restrictive elements, make it possible to modify the conditions, and not only adapt to our project's construction but other projects as well. The model developed by this project will be able to reasonably predict the construction completion time and support the process of decision making during the planning. Therefore we can expect the productivity and efficiency of the whole construction projects.

  • 국내신발업체들의 생산시스템은 탄력성이 부족하고 표준화가 미흡하여 자동화, 정보화 등을 매우 어렵게 하고 있다. 특히 OEM 생산에 의존하는 중소신발생산기업들은 OEM의 특성상 촉박한 일정에 쫓기게 되어 생산계획 및 공정조건 둥을 최적으로 설정하지 못하고 과거의 경험 둥에 의해 단기적이고 즉흥적으로 설정하고 있다. 이러한 형태는 중소신발생산기업들의 생산성 저하와 손실 초래의 중요한 원인이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 신발공정의 효율 및 생산성을 극대화하기 위해 중소신발생산기업의 생산시스템에 기반을 둔 시뮬레이션 모형을 개발한다. 이를 이용하여 현재의 생산공정 및 관리시스템에 대한 여러 가지 문제점 및 비효율적 요소들을 파악하고, 그에 따른 최적의 개선대안들을 도출하고 제시한다.

  • 전세계적으로 수자원이 고갈되어 가는 시점에서 해안에 근접한 지하수의 개발은 매우 중요하며, 현재 이와 관한 연구가 활발히 수행되고 있다. 해안 지하수를 개발하고 관리하기 위한 다양한 시뮬레이터가 존재하여, 많은 시뮬레이터들이 복잡하고 난해한 인터페이스로 인하여 시뮬레이션 생산성과 사용율이 낮은 편이다. 본 논문에서는 GUI에 기반한 사용자 편의 중심의 시뮬레이터 전처리부를 개발하였다. 특히 해안 지하수 개발 관리 시뮬레이터의 하나인 SIOP을 대상으로 하여 마우스 입력 중심의 전처리부를 개발하여 시뮬레이션 생산성과 사용 편의성을 증가 시켰다.

Framework design of simulation-based ship production execution system(SPEXS) in a shipyard (시뮬레이션 기반 조선생산실행시스템 프레임워크 설계)

  • Production planning is one of the most important activities in shipbuilding enterprises. Shop-floor supervisors and planners still do not have enough information to effectively analyze shop operations because of the difference between production planning and shop-floor scheduling. In this paper, process analysis was conducted between production planning and shop-floor control to clarify the difference, and the necessity of the manufacturing execution system(MES) was derived in a shipyard. Therefore, the simulation-based ship production execution system(SPEXS) was defined by analyzing characteristics of MES. The architectural functions of the system were deducted from the process of requirement analysis. The SPEXS' framework was constructed on the basis of the architectural functions. This framework will provide more reliable production schedules and allow engineers to plan and control shop operations in real-time.
