A study on the Development of an Eco-friendly Rooftop Waterproofing Method (친환경 옥상방수공법 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This research aims to make a contribution to the development of waterproofing technique for rooftops by analyzing and understanding the problems of the currently used waterproofing method and their causes. To do this, this research developed an eco-friendly waterproofing method that supplements the weaknesses of the conventionally used method by analyzing the problems of leakage resulting from design and construction work to diminish leakage, improving the quality of construction work, reducing labor required and the period of construction, and improving environment alconditions. The characteristics of the newly developed method are comparatively analyzed with the convention alpractices, and are evaluated on the site.

  • 연약지반 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 세계 각국에서 연약지반 개량공법의 하나인 연직배수공법이 주로 사용되고 있다. 연직배수공법은 연약한 점성토 지반 내에 인공적으로 연직 배수재을 다수 설치하여 배수거리를 단축시킴으로써 압밀을 촉진시키고, 그에 따른 강도증가 효과를 얻을 수 있는 공법이다. 연직배수재로 경제성과 시공성이 우수한 PBD가 널리 사용되고 있다. PBD 시공품질은 시공 깊이, 압력, 수직도 등에 영향을 받을게 된다. 본 논문에서는 PBD 시공시 배수재의 시공 심도, 압력, 수직도를 자동측정하여 작업자가 실시간으로 모니터링 할 수 있고 시공결과를 자동 저장하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 시스템은 시공 불량 요인이 발생시 자동 경고하여 불량률을 줄일 수 있고, 장비의 이상 발생시 자동 제어시스템을 가동하여 작업의 안전성을 확보하도록 하였다.

  • Although a range of machine excavation methods are in wide use, including casing, earth drill and reverse circulation drilling, deterioration in pile quality and faulty construction can be often found these days because of trouble in the construction field. For this study, research was conducted in the form of a survey of construction engineers working in the field in order to identify the types and the causes of trouble by focusing on all casing, earth drilling and reverse circulation drilling. By analyzing the causes of trouble, countermeasures could be presented. The data and the analysts presented in this study could be effectively used for minimizing trouble in future machine excavation work during construction.

  • The crossing construction under railroad have two methods which are cut and cover and trenchless method. First, cut and cover method is an extremely limited method concerning non-running time. Whereas, trenchless method is free from restriction such as train speed and running time, and has the strong points of safe and rapid construction. Front Jacking method, one of the trenchless methods, is frequently applied recently due to its stability during construction and vantage of assuring schedule reliability. The procedure is that after minimizing interlocking friction with structure and earth pressure due to jacking the small steel tube, pulling the precast box manufactured at the field in the ground using PC strand and hydraulic Jack. This method is able to be applied regardless of section size and length of box and condition of soil. And that is also pro-environmental. This paper presents the case of Daejeon E. W. perforate Road Project applied with the Front Jacking method.

  • Explosive blasting, hydaulic power unit and rock splitter are typically utilized for rockmass breakage and cutting in reconstruction of building structures and other construction site. Hydraulic rock cutting method, that can be utilized any weather conditions, has been applied mainly by experience for controling damages caused by vibration, noise and rock cuttings, and reducing damage claim by protecting adjacent structures. However, it is required to understand the characteristics of rockmass to improve operation efficiency. Although every cutting method has its own advantage, but it should be applied by considering site circumstance and rockmass properties in details to maximize the operation efficiency and economic feasibility.

  • In the case of the railway bridge, there are following the progress of works after the drainage method of a bridge surface - vibration proof rubber establishment, track gravel construction and rail construction etc. But these works are not enforced consecutively by the execution and economical reason. This is the reason of the long period of exposure after drainage execution. In many case, from the deterioration phenomenon by long term exposure of surface, there are a lot of occasions that do not keep primitive penetration depth waterproof primitive time. It is the most important that select the drainage method that have durability - it is not fallen in long-term exposure of surface. The major objective of this study is to deduce objective analysis result through examination about the Deterioration Restraining Agent method and to master KNOW-HOW of DRA drainage method. Through the study, minimize economical damage by frequent repair and reinforcement and present the reasonable standard of judgement fot drainage method of construction.

Development of Countermeasure Expert System for Tunneling Failure (터널 붕락특성과 시공 중 보강공법 선정방법 개발)

  • Many Studies of tunnel and tunnelling safety have been developed continuously based on the increasing social interests in underground space since 1990's in Korea. Because the growth of population in metropolitan has been accelerated at a faster pace than the development of the cities, underground facilities have been created as a great extent in view of less land space available. In this study, a lot of types of tunnel failure were surveyed and the detail causes were studied after many cases of tunnel failure were collected. There were suggested brief countermeasure of tunnel failure through case study. An expert system was developed to predict the safety of tunnel and choose proper tunnel reinforcement system using fuzzy quantification theory and fuzzy inference rule based on tunnel information database. The comparison result between the predicted reinforcement system level and measured ones was very similar. In-situ data were obtained in three tunnel sites including subway tunnel under Han river. This system will be very helpful to make the most of in-situ data and suggest proper applicability of tunnel reinforcement system developing more resonable tunnel support method from dependance of some experienced experts for the absent of guide.
