An Analysis on the Competency of School Management Consultants : The Perceptions of Professional and Prospective Consultants (학교경영컨설턴트의 역량 분석 : 전문가와 예비컨설턴트의 인식을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to analyze school management consultants' competency from the perspective of professional and prospective consultants and to draw implications for their competency building and work. To achieve the purpose of this study, an importance survey and a retention survey of school management consultants' competency were performed. The main results are as follows: school management consultants' key competencies are concept, background and principle of school management consulting, process and method of school management consulting, contents of school management, listening and empathy, communication, problem solving, teamwork and collaboration, interpersonal skills, authenticity, commitment. Professional and prospective consultants' perception of school management consultants' competency were different, and importance and retention of prospective consultants' competency changed through the consulting experience. It is significant that the result of this study can be reflected in school management consultants' training and qualification and conform the 'learning' principle of school management consulting.

Training Needs Assessment Based on the CEO Competency Model of Vocational Training Institutes (역량모델에 기초한 직업훈련기관장의 훈련요구분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop competency model in preparation for training programs for CEO of vocational training institutes in terms of needs assessment. This study collected data from 230 public and designated vocational training institutes including commercial learning facilities and life-long training centers using questionnaire by web mail. The frame of assessing training needs of competency applied to this study was based on the model with three components, namely importance, proficiency and learning desires of job skill and task needed to CEO of vocational training institutes. The methodologies of this study used were survey, FGI and case study. The major results proved that the higher priorities of training needs for vocational training institute CEO competency were as followings: (1) Competency for attaining talent of training teachers (2) Needs assessing competency for labor market change and trainee (3) Problem solving competency (4) Leadership skills and so on.

The Study on Essential Competencies for University Students in consideration of University Specialization and Major: Focusing on Hotel and Tourism Management (대학특성과 전공을 고려한 대학생 핵심역량에 관한 연구: 호텔관광경영전공을 중심으로)

  • This research was performed to provide a basic data for reforming University and Hotel & Tourism Management Curriculum Framework based on competency-based education, especially through identifying university students' competency categories of that reflect on the specialization and major of university. For the purpose of this research first, based on the literature review and empirical study, this paper grouped competencies into four areas: Generic Competencies, Specific Competencies, Personality Competencies, and University Specialization Competencies. Second, this paper examined empirical test through a survey of university students by Importance-Performance Analysis on four main categories. As a result of empirical test, four main categories were statistically verified, and the differences among majors about importance, performance and educational needs of each four competencies were analyzed significantly. There were proved that hospitality major is higher than other majors in importance of Generic and Personality Competency and performance of Generic Competency as well.

A Study on the Educational Methods of Convergence Major Based Learning (CMBL) for University Students (지역 연계 융합전공수행 기반 대학 교육 방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop convergence major-based learning (CMBL), which selects performance tasks related to local problems at hand and solves them based on convergence major performance, and builds a suitable teaching and learning model. We developed a CMBL class with a team project-type class that finds and solves practical problems in the region to cultivate overall problem-solving capabilities for convergence major competencies. Additionally, for this class, the instructor played a role as a bridgehead to explore and connect the community's sites, and students visited connected institutions in person to identify problems they need based on understanding and empathy for the subjects through field observation and qualitative interviews, and developed a CMBL class teaching and learning model necessary to directly solve them by using their major capabilities to the fullest. Therefore, we intend to present the future-oriented direction of university convergence education required by the community by forming a group of students with various majors to cultivate the ability to solve realistic problems in the community.

The effect of university students' participation in the entrepreneurship planning course on the enhancement of core competencies of entrepreneurship: Focusing on the case of S women's university (대학생의 창업계획 교육과정 참여가 창업가정신 핵심역량 증진에 미치는 효과: S여대 사례를 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed the effect of the entrepreneurship planning course provided by an women's university in Seoul on the enhancement of the core competencies of entrepreneurship of university students. To this end, pre- and post-test of core entrepreneurship competency were conducted on 63 female university students (32 in experimental group, 31 in control group) and then the results were analyzed. The course in which the experimental group participated was a team-based project learning course and it required a team of three people to draw an entrepreneurship plan containing social problem solving as the final result. The course was operated for a total of 8 weeks. To measure the level of entrepreneurship core competency in the pre- and post- test, the survey tool that was developed by the Ministry of Education and Korea Entrepreneurship Foundation (2020) was used. This tool composed by 'value creation', 'challenge', 'self-directed', and 'group creativity' competencies. As analyses methods, i) covariance analysis was performed using the pretest as a covariate, and then a two-way ANOVA was performed with treatment (experimental group, control group) and time point (pre test, post test) as two independent variables. Results show while there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the value creation competency, it significantly contributed to the enhancement of challenge, self-directed, and collective creativity competencies. Based on these results, implications and limitations were discussed, followed by future research direction.

Effects of Absorptive Capacity on Technology Innovation and Commercialization Capacities and Management Performance (흡수역량이 기술혁신역량 및 기술사업화 역량과 경영성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzes the effects of the absorptive capacity on the technology innovation and commercialization capacities and the management performance. Based on previous studies, the absorptive capacity is sub-classified into the exploratory absorptive capacity and the exploitative absorptive capacity, which are set as independent variables, to analyze their effects on the technology innovation and commercialization capacities. In short, the absorptive capacity has positive effects on the technology innovation and commercialization capacities. In addition, the technology innovation capacity and the technology commercialization capacity have positive effects on the management performance. The findings confirm that the absorptive capacity is an important factor impacting on the corporate innovation, and suggest that businesses should recognize the importance of the absorptive capacity as a guideline for developing their strategies for technological innovation.

  • 교원의 핵심 역량 중 지식 역량이나 수행 역량 등은 교직과정 이수 결과의 확인이나 지필 시험 또는 실기 시연 등을 통해 확인 또는 평가할 수 있다. 그러나 태도 역량이나 전문성 개발역량의 일부 요소들은 별도의 도구나 평가로 심사해야 된다. 전문성 개발 역량 가운데 자기반성 노력, 지속적 학습 노력, 교육 공동체 간 의사소통 및 협력 등의 요소들은 기존의 평가 방식으로 파악하기 어렵다. 따라서 교원의 핵심 역량을 평가하기 위해서는 교직 적성 및 인성 검사와 같은 별도의 도구가 필요하다. 본 논문은 교원자격을 강화하기 위한 교직 적성 및 인성 검사를 효율적으로 실시하기 위한 온라인 웹 검정 시스템을 설계하고자 한다.

A Case Study on Competence-based Curriculum in Finnish Secondary Home Economics Curriculum (핀란드 가정과 교육과정의 역량 기반 교육과정 사례 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the main characteristics regarding of implicating competence-based curriculum in Finland's home economics curriculum by analyzing curriculum documents and related literature. The research findings are categorized into four main characteristics. First, home economics in Finland belongs to the 7-9 grades. The key content areas are composed of 'food knowledge & skills and food culture', 'housing & living together' and 'consumer & financial skills' at an integrated approach. Secondly, the subject competences of home economics are not presented; however, the general objectives of transversal competences are defined in Finland's curriculum document. Transversal competences describe the aspects of the objectives that are emphasized in grades 7-9 and strengthens the connectivity with each subject. Thirdly, the objectives of home economics included in the instructions in Finland consist of a content system that links learning skills, content areas, and transversal competences. Both learning skills as a role of subject competences and content areas as objectives support teachers who restructure an curriculum. Fourth, in terms of achieving subject objectives, the assessment criteria in Finland home economics is to evaluate the achievement of good knowledge and skills through actual performance. Based on the research findings, the main features of the revised curriculum in Finland include encouragement of flexibility in education systems and learner's uniqueness in schools. If the implementation of subject competences in home economics is to be strengthened, it is necessary to intergrate the knowledge and competence, require a curriculum system for implements' subject competence, carryout assessment as learning to learn, and facilitate school community and teacher community for deeper co-operation.

Mediating Effects of Empathy and Resilience on the Relationship between Terminal Care Stress and Performance for Nurses in a Tertiary Hospital (일 상급종합병원 간호사의 임종간호스트레스와 임종간호수행 간의 관계에 미치는 공감역량과 극복력의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: To develop end-of-life care training programs for nurses who provide in a tertiary hospital, we examined the mediating effects of empathy and resilience on the relationship between their stress and job performance. Methods: This study was conducted with 218 participants at a hospital in B city in South Korea from August 15 through August 30, 2017. Data collected from the participants were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression using the IBM SPSS/WIN 21.0 software. Results: Terminal care stress was found to be negatively correlated with empathy competence (r=-0.345, P<0.001), resilience (r=-0.223, P=0.001) and terminal care performance (r=-0.260, P<0.001), whereas empathy (r=0.467, P<0.001) and resilience (r=0.358, P<0.001) were positively correlated with terminal care performance. Empathy had a complete mediating effect (${\beta}=0.409$, P<0.001) on the relationship between terminal care stress and performance, and resilience a partial mediating effect (${\beta}=0.294$, P<0.001). Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, development of training programs with a focus on empathy and resilience are highly recommended to improve job performance of nurses who provide terminal care in a tertiary hospital.

Effect of Integrated-Simulation Practice Education on Nursing Students' Communication Ability, Learning Confidence, Clinical Reasoning Competence, and Clinical Performance (통합시뮬레이션 실습 교육이 간호대학생의 의사소통능력, 학습자신감, 임상추론역량, 임상수행능력에 미치는 효과)

  • This study aimed to examine the effects of integrated simulation practice education for nursing college students on their communication skills, self-efficacy in learning, clinical reasoning ability, and clinical performance through a pre-post quasi-experimental design with a single group. The participants were 41 fourth-year nursing college students from a university located in G City, and the intervention took place from September to November 2023 over a period of nine weeks. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0, and the research findings are as follows. First, after simulation practice education, significant effects were observed in self-efficacy in learning (t=-2.21, p=.033), clinical reasoning ability (t=-2.97, p=.005), and clinical performance (t=-2.84, p=.007), but no significant difference was found in communication skills (t=-.224, p=.824). Second, after simulation classes for nursing students, clinical performance showed significant positive correlations with communication skills (r=.650, p<.001), self-efficacy in learning (r=.440, p<.001), and clinical reasoning ability (r=.824, p<.001). Based on these results, integrated simulation practice education for nursing students appears to be an effective educational method for enhancing their self-efficacy in learning, clinical reasoning ability, and clinical performance. To improve nursing students' clinical performance, it is necessary to operate simulation practices with various scenarios.
