  • The purpose of this study is to identify the cognitive and psychological precedence factors of career preparation behaviors of university students and to clarify the structural relationships between the variables. First, the effects of reflective learning on university students' career preparation behaviors were examined and the mediating effect of grit between reflective learning and career preparation behavior was verified. The research analyzed 307 university students in the 3rd and 4th year. The results of the study have shown that the reflective learning had a significant positive relationship with all variables of grit and career preparation behavior, but non-reflective learning have an insignificance relationship with all the main variables. In addition, reflective learning has a direct positive effect on career preparation behavior, and grit has a mediating effect on the relationship between reflective learning and career preparation behavior. The results of this study indicate that the more original variables are further identified and extended to improve career preparation behaviors of university students. It is significant that they are provided with the basic data for the development of career and job preparation education programs that can be applied in the university education field. In addition, it has been confirmed that it is important for university students to improve their ability to critically reflect on themselves, their surroundings and circumstances in order to keep them engaged and to maintain their interests. Moreover, higher education institutions should provide fundamental and extensible method of practice and educational environment.

  • One of the key success factors for Computer Supported Collaborative Learning(CSCL) environments relies on collaborative reflection. Reflection refers to the active, intellectual thinking for monitoring one's own learning process and continuous internal activities of exploring oneself for new learning experiences. Also, reflective activities are closely related not only with the individual aspect of internal exploration but also with the social aspect of learner-learner interaction. This paper suggests four essential macro-level design strategies such as (1)facilitating collaborative awareness, (2)making thinking visualization, (3)negotiation-mediated knowledge construction, (4)providing metacognitive awareness cues or Questions for scaffolding collaborative reflection in the CSCL environments and made some implications for key functional features for the design and development of system components for CSCL.

  • This paper seeks to deal with the point that in order to perform meaningful communication, a conscious act of reflexion must be involved. In other words, performance of communication inevitably requires self-reflexion. It is known that rationality and dialogism function as necessary preconditions and as goals of communication. But these concepts are very ambiguous because the communicational paradox is not considered. The interaction model could be thought to solve the paradox problems, but such solution can ultimately be seen as a result of ignoring the point that personal reflexion is necessary or covering up the logical problem by depending on concepts such as 'legitimation' or 'ideal discourse situation.' Therefore this paper views that the theory of communication based on Luhmann's system theory and constructivism has a more meticulous logics, and considers that the concept of reflexion specifically supplements the interaction model also by examining Schmidt's concept of fiction and Grant's concept of porous communication.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how a well-structured cognitive reflection journal can affect a learner's metacognition and learning achievement in the area of Engineering Education. The objects of this study were 143 students in total (experimental group: 52, control group: 91) who are taking the 'Fundamental Semiconductor Engineering' course in the Engineering Department at D college in the metropolitan area. For his particular study, we undertook three steps as follows. First, we verified that the two groups of students were equal in areas of metacognition and learning achievement. Second, the experimental group was asked to keep writing the well-structured reflection journal for four weeks and the control group was not. Third, we evaluated the metacognition and learning achievement. This study used a questionnaire to measure metacognition by Sperling(2002) in a Korean translation as well as a well-structured cognitive reflection journal. As a result, we found that the well-structured cognitive reflection journal affects learners positively in the sense of metacognition ability, continuity as well as learning achievement.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationship of happiness, happiness promoting activities and self-reflection. Need of happiness is as important as right of life and freedom in the convergence society and heating up according to appearance of positive psychology. Subjects were 366 nursing students. Data were collected Oct. 2-8(2014), and analyzed using t-test/ANOVA and correlation by SPSS. Self-reflection showed statistically significant differences according to grade, and experience of practice. Happiness and happiness promotion activities showed statistically significant difference according to economic state. Happiness promotion activities were positively correlated with self-reflection and happiness. The factors affecting happiness were happiness promotion, economic state, and self-reflection which accounted for 26.3%. Repeated research which include various variables of happiness and self-reflection is needed, and suggest qualitative research about happiness.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of nursing students' abilities of communication and self-reflection on their attitudes toward mental illness. Data were collected from September to October in 2020. In total, 180 questionnaires were collected, and 170 questionnaires among them were used for analysis, excluding 10 with poor responses. As a result, nursing students' communication ability, self-reflection, and attitude toward mental illness showed a significant positive correlation. Nursing students' communication ability and self-reflection were major factors influencing their attitudes toward mental illness, which explained 49% of the total variance. Continuous education to improve students' communication ability and self-reflection level within the nursing department's curriculum will be needed to pursue nursing students' positive attitude toward mental illness. Also, additional education program to improve students' attitudes toward mental illness will be required.

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the changing process in a middle school teacher's discourse capability through reflection to lessons, thereby providing the implications for activities to improve the quality of lessons. To that end, this study explored the characteristics of change in the teacher's discourse capability of promoting students' participation while the teacher repeated instruction implementation and meeting for reflecting the implementation. Through the reflection, the teacher noticed his own matters about dealing with the students' responses and presentations. By attempting to address the matters in the instructions and reflecting the attempt, the teacher was able to accelerate the students' participation in the lesson discourse through enhancing productivity and openness of the discourse. The result of this study demonstrated that lesson reflection beneficially influenced development of teaching profession related to discourse capability.

  • The main purpose of this study was to develope a reflective journal and examine its effects on student's academic achievement and self-regulated learning strategies. For this study, 'a structured reflective journal' was designed through the steps of systems approach with the purpose of enhancing student's academic achievement and self-regulated learning strategies, especially meta-cognition and critical thinking. The reflective journal used in this study contained the constructive elements of (1) self-evaluation with 5 likert scale, (2) learning essay, (3) dialogue with peers, and (4) dialogue with professor. A total of 94 freshmen enrolled in one of two sections of the engineering courses(theory-based class and experiment and practice-based class) participated in the study for 8 weeks. A pre-test-post-test design was used to examine the effects of the application of reflective journal on student's achievement and self-regulated learning strategies. For the result, analysis of covariance was conducted to determine whether there were any academic achievement differences and self-regulated learning strategy differences. The results suggested that students were taking advantages of the reflective journal, and there were statistically significant differences in academic achievement in the experiment and practice-based class and self-regulated learning strategies in both classes.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between the childcare teacher's intrapersonal intelligence and the childcare of infant's right respects, and examine the mediating effect of the childcare teacher's professionality in the relationship between them. Methods: For this study, questionnaires were distributed to 351 childcare teachers in the city of J. The collected date were analyzed by descriptive statistic, multiple regression and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ for reliability by SPSS 24.0 program. Results: The results are as following. First, the childcare teacher's intrapersonal intelligence, the childcare of infant's right respects, professionality showed a significant positive relation. Second, the partial mediating effect of the professionality in the relationship between the childcare teacher's intrapersonal intelligence and the childcare of infant's right respects. It was confirmed that the interpersonal intelligence had a positive effect on the childcare of infant's right respects and the professionality a mediating variable. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study suggest that a support plan is needed to boost childcare teacher's intrapersonal intelligence and the professionality with regards to the childcare of infant's right.
